Felipe Massa is THE example of sporting humility. A legend of Formula 1. Regardless of titles won and lost. He is the man

The way Massa got up out of the car, and the resolve and class he showed after a heartbreak title decider is very reminiscent of Lewis in Abu Dhabi. Legends all around.

This is not just emotional, but also wholesome. You can just hear the emotion in timo's voice how much he's had to suffer over the years when people blame him for that incident. Timo is such a nice guy who shouldn't have undergone trouble for that incident which wasn't his fault to begin with, and was the unluckiest of coincidences.
But full credit to felipe, such a humble guy. Makes glock realize he has no hard feelings for it.

what seems funny to me that many fans failed to realize that Time didn't "steal" the WDC from Massa, he ALMOST gifted him one. If it was not for the rain, Lewis would have become champions without any drama.

At first let me explain how was my relationship to Timo Glock. I was the painter of his Helmets since the days when he was a kid and drivin MotoCross. We had a more than good good relationship until today and I can exactly remind the Telephone call maybe 2 or 3 days after this final of 2008. The world of F1 nowadays is very diffcult. On Timo´s side you are at first a racer, no excuses!!!! I ask him "Boy, what happens on that weekend" and he has a kind of bittersweet sadness in his voice when he answered " Danny , there happenes so much in this last laps it´s hard to explain... I was on the the charge for a "maybe" podium finish and than it starts to rain. I know it was hard for anyone out there, but also I know I was pretty good under this conditions. I try to do my best under this conditions and in the first minutes everything went well. But than. the rain is going harder and I realize that it will be better to go to the Box and change for Rain Tires. But the answer from my Box was "don´t come in, dont´t come in! Too many people in the Pit Lane!!!" So I (and the team) decided that it will be better to stay out... The rest of the story is showing on TV-Screens allover the world.....Believe me, he give´s everything that he was able only to stay on the Course!!!! When you are a racer too, you know what I mean. Sometimes there are moments where you don´t realize what happens around you! Espacially the Point Point Situation in the Championship of other riders. The only thing you think about is to stay on track, NOTHING ELSE!!! He also told me about this fu***** messages he received after the Race..... Unbelieveable!!!! I invite everyone to say this in my face and you will get my answer.... He really was one of the long time forgotten Racers when Racers has a code of honor. I love you, Buddy.....

Really great video, with two great characters. Glad you uploaded this!
I'm a Ferrari fan, not gonna lie about it, but never thought Glock did anything on purpose. In fact, during 2008 McLaren/Hamilton and Ferrari/Massa made SO MANY mistakes because the pressure was huge! I've made a video about it, if anyone is interested, and still believe that Glock didn't decide the championship outcome but rather so many other moments earlier.

    • @miltiadis199

As a Felipe fan myself i never thought that Glock would potentially do anything on purpose. After seeing the footage of Glock's last lap, i think it's clear to see what happened...
Indeed during that season the amount of mistakes that every front running driver did, were too many

not to forget his engine failure in hungary leading the race with only three laps to go. I mean it's not to say Hamilton was undeserving but sometimes I think people tend to underestimate how much bad luck Massa had that season compared to Lewis because they simply can't accept that while overall a superior driver at this level a very good driver can beat one of the all-time greats when he's having a "career-year" while the other one has an "average" (for his standards) year. People focus on Silverstone with Massa spinning around and forget he was better in all other wet weather races that year but was simply unlucky, e.g. in Monaco when Hamilton touched the barrier and got a puncture trying to follow Massa but a SC two laps later saved Lewis and erased a 55 seconds lead of Massa to Hamilton who ultimately won the race after Massa had a small mistake of his own down the road trying to reestablish a comfortable lead. It simply wasn't meant to be "Massa's year" for some reason

Although Both drivers never won a title in F1 they were highly respected in their own rights Glock was always remembered as the guy who was the greatest never to get a top drive and for Massa he was a guy who was great with winning a title for 30 seconds but he was still respected and anyone remember his exit from F1 in front of his home crowded 9 years after his first title slipped through his fingers it was an amazing way for him into retirement at the end of the 2017 season with Williams
It gave me significance for a legend Stirling Moss he was referred to as “The greatest man to never won a drivers title”
Although both Glock and Massa had different stories to tell on that rainy race in São Paulo it will always be remembered as one the greatest championship battles in F1
Actually fun fact Massa I believed he retired in 2014 I think and when Bottas moved to Mercedes in 2016 to replace Nico Rosberg he raced for Williams before retiring for Good in 2017

While I know Massa is a class act, I think the Brazilian fans are not quite as much. The threats to Glock are just disgusting. But more than that, when massa finished his last brazil GP and was being interviewed on track, emotions were (again) so heartfelt and high. But all you could hear the stupid fans chant was “ole ole ole ole ole SENNAAA SENNAAA”
I was flabbergasted…have some damn respect. They had their champion right in front of them. And he didn’t need to win the title to prove it. It pissed me off beyond measure.
