  • First look at a new ebike for 2023 the ride1up revv1. This is a moped style electric bike similar to super73 and ariel rider x class. It has a large 52 volt 20ah battery, full suspension, fat tires, and super bright led headlight with turn signals.

There are no bicycle spokes to break or tune in the REVV 1. There is also a cage storage accessory for $100 that installs just below the battery. Other options like a rear rack and extended seat for 2 riders will be offered in the near future. I currently have a Ride1Up Core-5.

Will rarely use it off-road and I love thge large dia rims/tires. What do you see as the disadvantages, I like large bike size too at 6'-4"/300 lbs. Comfort, fast hi range, Cost is negative.

Well mechanical disc brakes can work but there is a big but...For example I just have a nice little 500w commuter but it only weighs 52lbs with the 15amp battery on there. Also I'm mechanically inclined so I adjusted them very well and put some real brake pads. Once you start though getting into the heavier bikes the mechanicals just don't really cut it. Some of those bikes are starting to get near the 100lbs of weight range so even if the mechanicals are perfectly fine on a light 50lbs bike you start adding another 20-30 pounds the brakes are really working hard to stop you decently.

I looked this bike up and I do like the look and specs (works for me). I'm old(er) haha...I actually remember when Mopeds came out....like for the first time ever. Ebikes are a reinvention and reimagining of the Moped because of new technology, that being batteries and power, obviously. I like this bike because it has that "tiny motorcycle" look and feel while still having pedals. If it has pedals, the cops don't seem to care as long as you're responsible. I do love the Sur Ron but there no off-road trails where I live, so with no pedals the Sur Ron looks too much like a bonafide dirt bike on the road...and the cops won't like that. Plus bike trails...even this "toy motorcycle" could hide among the bikes....I think pedals are the key. Sur Ron in a second if I just happened to live where there are trails...but for the rode and some bike trails (especially paved trails) this seems like a good bet. Thanks.

I built my own, a Trek 4300 aluminum 4 Series mtb, with the Fang 750w Mid drive / 52v 25ah batt.. and the Likkie 48t chan ring.. total weight of only 55lb. the programing cable allows for fine tuning as i set the controller to 25 amps. With a full charge of 58.8v i drafted a box truck on the street the other day and hit 46.3mph full throttle (while peddling my ass off) of course, 40.6 without a draft (Pa) on the flat and 33 throttle alone. As of late my chain skips on my 11t cog ! i've had the shop tune it up and still skips.. chain is only half stretched and cog teeth are not that bad, i bought a clamp on swivel chain tensioner pulley which actually made things worse when it comes to shifting.. all the parts are new other than frame and shocks.. Shimano Alivio shifter and derailleurs.. i did drop amps back to stock (19) it still skips but not as bad.. Have i reached the limits of these Parts/Bike ? Are there "Ebike" Rated 9 speed Cassettes with matching Chains that can handle my abuse ?? stuck in cali "Legally" i can only have 750w and i can't afford another build or a new shelf bike 🤷 Ideas/Suggestions ?

Coming from a background in cycling I've never been satisfied with the antiquated bike components you get on these prebuilt ebikes - so I gotta ask - would you consider doing an ebike conversion to a proper modern mtb? Take for example a commencal meta, weighing in at about 15kg, + a cyc x1 pro conversion for another ~10kg. That gives you a 5000w bike with better offroad capabilities than any other ebike on the market (save dirtbikes) yet tipping the scales at less than half what a surron weighs. The only downside of course being that you get a max of about 1500wh in the frame, so you would have to strap a second battery on the downtube for more than 50km throttle only range.

    • @EBikeBuilder_

mtb only good for mtb, not comfortable for riding around, need a more upright position. Ppl not gonna drop thsouands on a MTB to commute. Unless you do something to bring the bars up but then its not really suited to MTB. I agree tho lots of ebikes use garbage components, square taper bb, freewheels instead of cassette, etc

I think that you have a really good idea with a cyc build on a quality bike. In regards to 1500 watt-hours, that is plenty of battery. I have 1440 watt hours and 175 peak amps with my battery and it gets more than 40 miles at with a 60 amps controller.

Initial response: Got this bike for my friend. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ Delivery was fast. And the friend was surprised I would order it when she had never suggested she wanted anything but the pedal bike she had. She has now ridden the bike two times and gives it a 10 and says it is very fun. We have some hills in our town that are very challenging to climb on a typical bike. But tonight she went up with the pedal assist and loved it. I was way behind on my standard bike, huffing and puffing. Now she is no longer lagging behind me. This thing is powerful enough that a person could go around town without any pedaling. She likes to get some exercise so on flat ground she hits the red button to turn off pedal assist and only uses the twist throttle when she's in a tough spot. The bike looks good. It is really a very nice bike for the friend. Now for me, when I get an electric bike, I'm twice her size and will be looking for a bigger watt motor and battery. But this one is just wonderful for my friend. I am happy with this purchase.

Most of these different brand e-bikes are actually made in China, this is why they all look similar. When the company ordered the bike, they just custom printed their logo on, have the manufacturer paint it differently and put in certain “upgrades” and features on, so it will appear that they are unique. But most are from the same original build from China. If you want to pay cheaper, buy it directly from China. Wait time will be longer but you will save some money.
I purchased mine directly from China. 1000w motor, 25a controller, 23ah battery, dual suspension, Shimano hydraulic disk brakes for only 1500$ total. 3 months waiting though. Same specs here in the state probably will cost me $2500 or more.

the bike specs are underwhelming for the price so I dont get the hype. It's like nothing is competing with ariel rider's bikes in terms of price + specs. Or you can just buy ebikes straight from china since most ebike brands are just rebranded chinese bikes. Or just build your own... Waiting to see a truly revolutionary ebike with a 52V 1k watts motor, full suspension, and atleast 20ah battery all for under $2k. Now that's something to be hyped about.

    Needs a 1,000W motor, etc.
This bike is overpriced for the specs, which are not really comparable to an Ariel Rider X-Class 52V.

You should just buy a zero motorcycle. The Zero FX/fxs. (Used) The surron is cool but that content is oversaturated. Your videos will get lost in the shuffle (sorry). Good luck

So then you're riding along way over there on the right side 10 mph too slow just slow enough to be in everybody's way. Why wouldn't just go 10 miles an hour 15 miles an hour faster... and then you ride it out in the lane? I don't understand why they made these too slow e-bike transportation vehicles and are still making them. It's dangerous over there trolling along in the gutter while people barely pass you 10 mph faster than you. That's dumb

Can we stop referring to these things as e-bikes. If you don’t have to peddle it it’s an e-scooter. Or, hybrid e-bike.

U better start saving money now for the bigger battery you're going to need to use the CTY2 practically. The stock 23AH battery range is only 20 miles (of really riding it). Sure you can get more if you stick to 20mph, but why would you on that bike.

Nice but I wonder if it's a real bafang 750watt motor? You know how bafang has a reputation of selling 500watt motors as 750watt. Only way to tell is to open the motor.

bafang doesnt sell motors to anyone but distrubutors so that would be the reputation of ebike manufacturers instead

@@EBikeBuilder_ it was bafang that shipped out tons of 750watt motors to ebike manufacturers that where really 500watt not 750. The only way to know if yours is a real 750 is to open it up.
