The cats are called felynes.
Felynes hired by the guild and hunters are called palicos.
Felynes belong to a group of creatures called lynians, lynians are basically people but also sort of aren't, but the humans in monster hunter tend to view them as equals.
Palicos hired by hunters are basically famous.
You have to hold the button when mining ore veins and digging for bones.
Always fun to pop into one of these videos of people trying a monster hunter game for the first time. As other people mentioned defender stuff is a skip, it's the strongest armor for base game campaign which makes it a bit easier but it will definitely remove some of the most frustrating aspects of the game for a begineer it's up to you if you wish to use it, would recommend to skip it unless you get stuck into a hunt wall and as a long sword enjoyer, foresight slash is your counter which should usually be(right mouse + MB3). Try to master that move, it's basically what makes the option to go from 0 to max damage on longsword very fast. :)
oh, thanks I'll try to practice and learn the timing for the counter! definitely for the max damage. btw from your experience? What long sword would you recommend upgrading too next?
@@TheCyberneticGhoul the bone path has a pretty good upgrade paths into some good ones into late campaign ones.
@sublimeisntdead thanks, I’ll check it out.
@@TheCyberneticGhoul And if you’re a psychopath you can do the entire tree, though that’s something more apt for the long run
That would be overkill tbh
Its Always fun seeing somone trying world for the first time. And i dont know If youre aware but the Guardian and Defender stuff ist kinda meant as a skip to iceborne statswise.well Hope you Upload the rest of your Journey soon.
Oh I didn’t know that, I’ll keep that in mind.
Thanks for watching!
Btw you have a discord or Something coudnd find one in your Chanel description
Hi, There is no official Discord for the channel or other social. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Sadge woudve been fun to chill there
If I ever do create one, I’ll probably publish it on the community tab👍
man now i wish i knew how to use the long sword to give you tips. but i do know about this 1:33:14 , the attack you did that sent you into the air is called the helmsbreaker(or splitter i don't remember) and as far i know you are able to use it when your spirit gauge(the big sword icon near your health that goes white, not the red one) is maxed and that move is your biggest damage dealer, you can also counter.
Yup, I just checked it’s called helm breaker. Ima have to watch a tutorial to master the long sword. I heard that the MHW Iceborne difficulty is on a whole other level, I can’t enter that dlc unprepared. Thanks for the tips! It was really helpful.
@@TheCyberneticGhoul that's a great place to start as the long sword has a lot of finnicky mechanics. althogh iceborne is indeed massively harder the main trouble in it comes from the fact enemies have 3x the health, hit a lot harder and are balanced around the clutch claw, which if you have iceborne you should have access to right now. edit: i also recommend telling your friend to watch a sword and shield tutorial as it is the most versatile weapon in the game
oh thanks, I'll Let him know, I appreciate the tips! What weapons did you use?
@@TheCyberneticGhoul i started off with the hammer though eventually switched to the sword and shield and since then it has been my main, i really recommend you give it and other weapons a try btw, you seem like the type of person who would like the switch axe
I’ll actually have to check out the axe. I used the sword and shield in the arena, i didn’t really like it, but I know it’s good. Was the hammer difficult to wield ? Some weapons like the great swords require a lot of movement.
Don't play with Defender Gear! ruins the experience especially a first playthrough.
Yeah thats true, I don’t wanna rely too much on that armor.
@@TheCyberneticGhoul the weapon too just in case u didn’t know already
Yeah, I’ll need to get a better long sword.
