This song breaks my heart every time I hear it. That bridge kills me. Derek's solo is insane - as usual. But I gotta say, despite the abuse that Gregg put his body through over the years, his voice held up so well even up until the end. It still had that edge and that soul.
Watching Gregg watching Derek..........I miss this so much... love getting lost here
Wast time no more you got to move on but always remember the ones you love
Blues is Alive + Well JULY 2024 -
👊💯🇦🇺🤠☯️😎🦘☺️👍🙏
I always find it interesting how they have always played it live slower than the album version.
Any of my old ATL folks remember the free concerts in Piedmont park? 50+ years ago.

Legends Live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP Greg!
GREAT hands on the drums, btw.
ABB 4EVER
You thumbs down this you have zero understanding of music and life itself.
I'm thinking your choice of music is sketchy at best. Just sayin!
And I'm thinking you're an ass bag!
Sitar solo so good
Good God, that is soooooooooooooooooo good! Thank you for posting it.
The bass player is really into it. God bless these guys.
Love both slide solos. Wow!
I love his braid!
Just ❤️
Dereks solo OMG :-))))
Thanks
my fav. ABB song, also of all songs D. Trucks plays on , I think he makes this version better than the original .... sorry all traditionalists !
I love Warren Haynes ,i mean he is on my Top.5 players list....amazing chops ,amazing guy !!! Obviously someone that dares to play a slide solo after that freaking Trucks's slide solo has guts and knows what he is doin ! But man ... what Derek plays here can send you in the stratosphere and never get you back !
Gone way to soon
Gregory was stil recovering from his ordeal in surgery and you could really hear it in his voice but man I understand why he said sometimes listening and looking at Derek playing he saw Duane.
This video is titled Live 2004 Allman Bro Band. Gregg wasn't even diagnosed with liver disease til 2007. His liver transplant was in 2010. So cavscout62, yes his voice was weak but he was not recovering from his surgery at this venue unless date on this is incorrect. Love Gregg & hate to see him going thru this pain.
I believe Gregg was thinking about Duane during Derricks aolo.
Gregg appears to be enjoying himself.
3:40 Gregg looks over at Derek and thinks "Damn this kid's good"
Two good friends: Dr. Bob Bill W.? Jus sayin...
Very nice guitar solo by Derek but Duane´s simplicity and cheering up notes are just unbeatable in this song
Betts played on the recording of this song. This was written by Gregg shortly after Duane passed
Duane was not alive when this was written
there is no comparison and dont think derrick was looking for that
Lol this song is about Duanes death, so he couldn't have played on it. Betts played the studio version on eat a peach
