I did 2 tours in Panama. I was there during Christmas, different country, after we left but I was thinking to retire in Panama, we like the mountains. Altos de Maria area, I saw a video where you used goggle maps I found out in Panama. It is better to use the waze app better. Your part of our research and how can be smooth transition. I don't understand why we paid the USA embassy salary. They are supposed to work for us. I worked for all Americans for 45 years so they can live under the blanket of freedom that I and others provide. We will continue to watch your videos and continue learning
Ha! I just found this and it looks really good. I’ve been trying to figure out how to vacation in Panamá , Costa Rica and Belize all on the same trip. It was driving me nuts. The flights I was finding wanted me to fly back to Miami and layover between countries. I was looking for local airlines and found you. I feel much better now. Thanks
I went for a look around Howard and Panama Pacifico this last week, mainly to see what was left of the old Howard Airbase and Fort Kobbe. It was a nice change from the city, fresh air, nice scenery. Worth a walk around where the old forces buildings are, now abandoned and in he forest - there's a cycle route (a road), so it's really easy. The abandoned base hospital is eerie, left like the US left in the 90s, signs in English etc. Along the main road is the old Murray Battery, where some of the big guns protecting the Canal were housed. There is public transport that goes to Howard (on it way to Veracruz), but only the minibus "coasters" from Albrook. They only cost $1, but you couldn't take a lot of luggage with you - even if you could afford the airline's surcharges! I don't know about facilities at the airport itself, but there's a nice cafe on the upper floor of the nearby Novey, but it closes after lunchtime (say by 3), after that you have to the snack bar downstairs.
I learned about Wingo's service from the Balboa airport some time a go, and was pleased to see the fares to Bogota, where I have friends. But how I wish that Wingo also had service to Miami or Fort Lauderdale for reasonable fares. Having to depend on Copa or US carries to get to the US and visit family isn't cheap! But...direct flights from Bogota to the US is often cheaper than from PTY. And yes...Wingo is a subsidiary of Copa. Once I booked a Wingo flight from Bogota to PTY and it was a Copa aircraft.
Thanks Mary. I enjoyed this episode as I have used Wingo once to Medillin Columbia and did get up charged along the way. Two friends of mine also just went and they were able to have their jubilado discount applied as well by calling in advance of booking. I have to get the details on that from them but I guess you aren't jubilado yet😊 as I don't think you mentioned it. Also I drove to the airport only to find out they don't have parking there except for about 20 free spots right in front and all were taken. We had to wait for a car to leave before we could park. I was a little worried about leaving my car there for a week but it was fine. I won't drive next time. Too much stress.

I meant Riba Smith for the cafe, not Novey!

Fun fact: Wingo is based in Colombia but belongs to Panama's Copa Airlines.
There is no charge to check your bag at the counter.
If you haven't already paid for it online or it isn't include in the type of ticket you bought, yes there is.
@@IGoPanama If you have to go to the counter to pay for anything, there is a charge.... but this isn't what I said.
Gracias ., No ire al mostrador. jajajaja
😂
That volume change from your speaking voice to the new intro is quite jarring. I recommend considering a closer match in volume.
Thank you for the constructive criticism! I'll see what I can do about that for next week.
