- In this video, we go over the best way to get to Costa Rica from Panama for budget travel enthusiasts. You can fly to Costa Rica from Panama, but that can be costly. You can also take a bus direct from Panama City to San Jose. However, we wanted to journey to Puerto Viejo, on the Caribbean coast. We bring you on our adventure on four separate buses, a tuk-tuk ride, and a walk across the border to Costa Rica from Panama over 2 days.

I traveled last year from El Valla Anton to David and to Boquete, The people are amazing and very helpful. I'm a solo middle-aged woman !!
Yes! Such a beautiful place with very welcoming people! We spent more time in the central area around Coronado and Anton, a bit in Panama City, and then through David and Boquete. Awesome country all around with so much we missed. We’ll be back again someday for sure

The best part of travelling local is you never lose your luggage..
Besides being a fun roller coaster ride, going downhill also provides the "A/C" if you keep the windows open.
Yeah absolutely! Some of the buses do have A/C, but that bus was definitely running on the downhill powered "A/C" haha and on top of keeping our luggage, we get to keep a lot more of our money than we would flying such a short distance

I hope you're staying at the Selina hostel...it's very good. The ⛱ beach to go to is called Cocles...sugar white sand. Awesome 👌 Puerto Viejo is famous for its cacao as it grows well on the Caribbean side of the country. Join a tour and learn how they grow the cacao, let the beans dry, and eventually make chocolate. 🍫🍩🍪 Party on Canadians!!!! 🍁 Pura Vida!!!!! 👍👍
Ah, we had heard of Selina but went a different route. With so many unique hostels, hotels and Airbnb's to choose from and it was hard to pick! haha. But yes, we have heard of the cacao in this part of the country and we have been wanting to do one of those tours while here, so stay tuned, you might be getting an up-close look at one of those here soon 😉 PURA VIDA 🇨🇷

Yeah it was a long two days of being cramped in the buses, but can't complain on the savings and where we ended up! Had an amazing time in Panama and Costa Rica just great as well! 🙂🙌

Yes we are! Full-time for over 2 year now! So we live out of our suitcases and when creating content, have a lot of gear to carry. Downsizing our luggage has always been a consideration, but hard to do when going for so long 🙂
