The day this icon leaves the ground shoud be a bank holiday. The care and dedication of the team is awesome a lesson in life for many of todays youngsters. Always think its a shame that the vulcan project had to stop after all the blood sweat and tears expended on it. Thanks guys😊
Cheers John.
Awesome! All the work that so many people put into bringing the aircraft back to life is incredible. They bring history to life.
My wife bought me a taxi run in Just Jayne for my 60th I hope we are both able to see her fly what a labour of love by all.
Cheers Graham.
Took em all off and put them in a big bag. Lovely. thanks for the video.
Cheers Barry.

Cheers Mike.
Nev thanks for another great video. Lovely to see her taxing and to hear the roar of them engines. The guys are doing well with the restoration.
Thanks Robert.
Brilliant and real a real pleasure to see such a lot of work ending up and outside and wanting to fly.
Cheers John.
Another great video Nev. The museum is going from strength to strength on so many levels and to think Fred who all those years ago had a nucleolus of an idea for a museum in memory of his brother and now his grandchildren taxi the Lancaster.
It's great for the family cmg6848.
Absolute gorgeous bit machinery and History😊
I have been on the Lancaster Taxi Run this Day
I was in the Middle Turret.
Cheers mate.
I was talking to the guys at Woodford many years ago when they'd just finished working on the BBMF Lanc. They found the inner surfaces of the wing skins had never been painted because the average operational life of a Lancaster was around 3 months and corrosion was not considered an issue.
Yes I guess so, thanks Tim.
Thankyou Neville. It must be such a thrill mixed with some trepidation as "Just Jane " has her first taxi run . Every day she gets closer to flight !!!
Cheers John.
Brilliant and informative what a fantastic undertaking. Great to see her in the whole again.
Cheers Mark.
Very interesting, Neville. Thank you very much. Regards, Ian.
Thank you Ian.
Hey Nev, maybe getting ahead a bit, but are they going to fit Jane with dual controls similar to Thumper and Vera? Also, have they identified who might be pilot flying for the first flights?
I would think dual control is essential, the rest a bit early to say yet, ajg617
The French wing is looking amazing, wonderful seeing the job that has been done. What craftsmanship
Cheers Chris.
Thanks Neville....so good to see the ladies getting involved !
Cheers Adrian.

Yes do , cheers nofider1.
Thanks a lot! The size of the bird is impressive!
Cheers mate.
Just a joy to watch.
Cheers Clive.
Neville !!! great commentary, at the rate you are going there will soon be 9K viewers that can take over a ground crew position (just in case someone forgets to come to work, wink wink). It might be a treat to show the before start checklist that the crew is using. You are doing GREAT work Neville!!
Thanks Ed.
Thanks for the great video again Nev
Cheers Bigmac60.
NO NO NO the whole country holiday...my father did not celebrate many things, but as a WWII vet, who put on the uniform, i think he
would have loved to see this bird fly, how I got to be a aviator, his stories of watching the planes above, or being strafed by them.
Cheers Jo. Big thanks to your DAD.
Thank you Neville, lovely to hear Jane again
Cheers Gary.
Those beautiful sounding Merlins. 😍😍😍😍😍
Cheers Dia.
This Lancaster was a TV Star in the 1970's A Family at War.

As always a great video Neville the sound of the four Merlin engines always sound great I do admit that engines do sound better when you are there they is something very special about all four engines running Neville have you had a ride in Jane yet please keep your videos coming 😊
Hi Simon. yes two years ago.
Thanks, Nev. Nice one.
Cheers Malcolm.
Great video, Nev. Do the new formers have to be heat treated?
Apparently not tez.
Another great update bro, is the fire crew volunteers or paid staff. Safe travels
Paid staff, Ken. They work around the centre when not on duty.
Cheers
11:46 have they removed “the greenhouse” from the top of the ATC building?
Neville, considering the mission marks painted below the cockpit, can you tell me why some bombs are painted in red? And what the hell those ice cream cones represent? 🙈. Thank you, congrats to the whole team for the fantastic job done so far.
The Ice cream cones signified ops over Italy. Not sure about the red bomb symbols...
Hey, the history continues to inspire and intrigue us with these little human embellishments, painted on with pride, by ground crew. Pride, and some relief from the Lanc's safe return to their care. Many never returned. I think of those ground crew guys, and the WAAFs, waiting at crack of dawn for that first distant beat of engines. It puts shivers up my spine.
Ice cream cones are raids on Italy if I remember correctly, not sure about red ones
@@nicholasbell9017 , thank you
@@millycarrington , thank you
Red bombs signified raids on Berlin.
Who were the crew onboard JJ for the taxi run ?
Andrew, Louise, Liz and a F/Eng observing from the cheap seat.
Have the engine-driven generators now been fitted and wired? I thought that freshly-charged batteries were still fitted prior to engine runs and taxiing?
Hi Andy, yes the generator on no3 engine has been fitted, but not working. It was to be up and running for this season thing did not go according to plan- so back to the batteries.
@@nevillewheeldon1693 Many thanks for your reply!
Found the sound porn channel! Was this particular Lanc one that flew in the Dambusters mission? ❤️🇦🇺
I was a bit surprised to see the wheel chocks removed and then the four engines started up. I trust that the handbrake had been applied.
If you think about it PNH he would have to go to near the spinning props to remove them if moved when the engines were running..
Is the flight engineer standing ? I'm guessing that is an expedient for taxi operations. Surely was not normal operations for flight ?
The flight engineer had a small folding seat, but it was rarely used as the fuel cocks, fuel pressure instruments and transfer pumps etc were on the starboard fuselage behind him. So the engineer mostly flew standing beside the pilot.
