OMG, I'm so sorry to hear about your vacation. I can't even imaging! Stay strong, you poor, brave soul. I know it's hard...so very, very hard...but please, I beg you, don't let this tragedy cause you to go on an extended spree that ends-up on the news, no matter how justified it is, how much the world deserves it (soooo much). You're better than that. Better than all of us.
And THAT is why i become unavailable during the holidaze. No interest in dealing with people I have nothing in common with. I always go on vacation by myself during Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Red headed leader of the burn mob, is the guy from Giant Spider Invasion.....AND is a linguist and accent expert, saw him on Johnny Carson for his accent ability and analysis.
Mark never fails to bring the laughs. I loved what MST3K did with Touch of Satan, and Mark’s newer take is super good as well. Mark has great comedic timing with his lines and I love how he returns to an earlier joke and ups the ante (Bazooka Joe comics). You’re a good guy and comedian, Mark. Love you’re work.
I have to say, with all of the different channels on RUclips reviewing bad/weird movies, you've found a way to provide something others aren't doing. Keep up the good work!
My God, you inserting yourself into the scene of "burn the witch", looks so damn good, Mark. The lighting and the film grain, your costume and mutton chops, very well done.
The way Melissa talks to the people posing as her parents makes it pretty clear she's in charge and they defer to her. I'm guessing she knew them since they were kids and she's the one taking care of them. I always kinda liked this movie, it's really only damaged by the overwhelming late sixties/early seventiesness of it.
The two main theories are that either Luther or Molly are descended from Melissa or Lucinda, or they're just random walnut farmers who happen to own a witch.
The tragic thing with the director of photography Jordan Cronenweth is that under the shot of Blade Runner, he was in such bad condition because of Parkinson's disease that had to do his job sitting in a wheelchair.
Omg! I'm working security at an old folks home as I'm watching this! You mentioned old person gang and I stopped and looked at my surroundings nervously. Then I remembered I can walk at a reasonable pace, can lift at least 20 pounds, and everybody goes to bed at 9pm here anyway.
When Mark is in w/ the mob, the lighting is superb. Also love the scratches like the film. He keeps getting better and better at that amazing trick of putting himself in the movie.. love it.
Hats off to you, Mark. When doing a comedic review to a movie that was on MST3K, it's got to be somewhat hard to come up with your own stuff to make jokes about rather than tread off of what Mike and them joke about, yet, you manage to pull it off. Bravo to you, and thank you.
LOVE your channel! So happy the algorithm, after 7 years, FINALLY recommended something i actually wanted to see! I love how they are all older weird movies! Im a fan of old movies in general. You should check out some of the weird movies Japan came out with in the 60s 70s and 80s 😂
Just wanted to say, I’ve been a huge Fan since about when you started and loved EVERY video review you’ve done. I don’t think there has been a single one where I didn’t laugh out loud. Thanks for doing these and please keep them up! 😊 Also, great job this time with the side-skits. I liked how you were able to include the green lines. Did you borrow that pitchfork or actually buy one as a prop? Just curious. Also, curious on why you usually don’t bring up the MST3k version of some of these movies. I loved this episode on MST3k and they seemingly cleaned it up as it didn’t look THIS grindhouse’ish.
Definitely one of the most iconic MST3K episodes ever, so it was a real treat seeing your take on it! As always, your self-inserts were awesome and ever improving, way to go, man!

That rotating shot is great, that’s the kinda thing I’m thinking about when I insist that good cinematography can tell a story all by itself, film is a visual medium after all, and you can tell a masterpiece of a story without any dialogue if you have great cinematography! 🍻❤️🤘

It was almost certainly a umatic tape that was already edited for tv from the 80s. The print used for however mark watched it was probably made much later, and likely from like a 35mm theater print. At least thats my guess.
At 14:00 it's incredible how well you got the lighting to shine on you like it was coming from the torch to your left in the shot, incredible editing man!

14:13 Mark, this is one of the smoothest edits (of yourself) that you've done thus far. The angry mob reacting and looking at you when you speak, the lighting, the shading **chef's kiss** all of that makes the edit even better.🫡
Your editing just keeps getting more impressive! This is a movie I feel similarly about, it was not a bad film and has many moments that show how well-made it is. Once you know the secret or twist, it informs the next viewing and remarkably becomes a more interesting film because you know who it's really about, which you wonderfully pointed out in featuring that one exceptional scene. I rather enjoyed Gorgo and Mormo speaking in the voice of whomever happened to be speaking with them, which seemed to be part of the many messages the film has. It made it clear that things weren't as straightforward as they may seem, and "the Devil" not necessarily what is assumed.

The deteriorating print of this film looks like the Matrix is falling apart. I just realized a new thing I love about your self inserts: it's when you show the scene with one of the characters, then bam! The next shot of said character suddenly replacing them. It's hilariously jarring. Speaking of, do you improvise your self insert bits, or do you write them down beforehand? They feel like you're making things up as you go along, and I love that about them.
Mark, those edits of you getting into the movies are getting AWESOME! I had a great laugh watching this review. Big thank you to out me in a happy mood before I go to bed.
I love the awkward silliness of Jodi squatting down by the pond and unfurling a paper napkin as a makeshift tablecloth for his lunch. It's such a ludicrous detail to have and yet there it is. Surprised he didn't tuck another unfurled napkin into his shirt.
Just want to say Ditto to everyone else says about your excellent skill in inserting yourself into the film. Even got the scratches in there. This is your best job yet and it really enhances enjoyment of the film.
Film could’ve made the “fall in love overnight” element work if Jodi existed as a past version of himself from her time so when she sees him at the pond and recognizes him, that’s why she brings him home immediately and they have an instant connection.
As always, amazing work! Please give Rat Boy a review! It's like a fever dream and I don't understand how it got made or who it was for (as an audience)
