    If they released a "The Stuff" ice cream right now in the original package, I bet it would have a nice little resurgence.

    I love how The Stuff can apparently be stored in a fridge, a freezer, and at room temperature.
    So… are there different kinds of The Stuff? Or does no one know how to preserve it?

    • @thenightrider2121
      @thenightrider2121 8 месяцев назад +7

      Probably the latter, since it’s a living entity that came from the earth and is edible from that state.
      Although the different kinds of Stuff also would make sense. Like maybe the marshmallow fluff is for some people, the frozen yogurt Stuff for others… I’m starting to think about the state of matter too much in regards to the Stuff.

    • @STho205
      @STho205 8 месяцев назад +1

      Yogurt cups....a new fad in the late 70s. Room temp, chilled, frozen yogurts....all were fine. A real danger to the Big Ice Cream Syndicate.
      They even lampooned it in The Good Place. Humans create a less tasty substitute for a great tasting but fattening food... so you can eat more of it.
      Also parodied on Seinfeld and by Ron Swanson on Parks and Rec

      Chocolate Chip Charlie was supposed to be Famous Amos.

    That spanking bit did make me think _"...aw don't do that Mr. Actor Man, its 2023 and we're conditioned to get weirded out by that sort of thing."_
    Its like show me on this Famous Amos doll where the bad movie touched you.

    I remember watching this movie growing up. After watching reruns on cable of The Blob and Invasion of the Body Snatchers, I saw the inspiration for this movie right away, but making the monster mimic an ice cream product was that got me intrigued to rent this at the video store at the time.

    I LOVE this movie! And I love that the premise is basically the story of Quorn.

    7:26 it took eight nurses (male and female) to hold my 50 lb rail thin 8 year old daughter one time to give her a flu shot. Don't underestimate kid strength - its like trying to hold down a cat in water.

      Especially when one of the guys holding the kid back is the bad guy from Under Siege 2, he’s not gonna hold his own.

      So you and your cronies wanted to inject The Stuff into your own daughter.
      Insidious.

    This would be a classic if Tom Atkins was the protagonist. Or if Joe Dante directed it, but I think that almost every time I watch a movie.

    I have to watch it again. I couldn't handle the old man eating eating it right off the bat. Like in the movie "Food of the gods" where the farmer recalls "When we found out it wasn't oil, we fed it to the chickens".
