I feel like The Simpsons will end as a series before the Lions will ever win a Super Bowl.
As a Minnesota sports fan as well, we’re the worst sports city in America bar none even more so than Detroit, Atlanta, Cleveland and others.
At this point, the Lions exist so that we Vikings fans can maybe feel a little better about not having one. Sure it's been 45 years since the last try, but we still at least got there. (0-4 record not withstanding)
The Lions already have 4 NFL Championships...1935, 1952, 1953, 1957; the old NFL Championships count...in spite of what Steelers fans say...
You act like the Vikings have been good historically 💀💀💀💀

Being a blazers fan may bring me unending depression, injuries, and crushed hope but at least we have that hope damnit!
At least you made it to the ‘ship. Go Mariners!!!!!
Mariners fans are the most pained and heartbroken in sports today. We've suffered long enough

At least we won in '77.
As a Mariners fan this is true pain. But at least last week we got to enjoy a 4 game sweep of of the previously #1 AL ranked Rays. Silver linings, your forced to find them as a Mariners fan.
Tree's rage during the Browns vs Steelers game will never get old
Correction, in 2001 Mariners actually lost the series 4 to 1
Yeah even worse than 4 to 2.
True, to be fair, it can be easy to get 2000 and 2001 mixed up due to the fact that they also lost 4-2 in the 2000 ALCS.
The Lions and Browns still HAVE won championships, despite so many people wanting to believe a pre-Super Bowl NFL just never existed.
THANK YOU! 👍👍My uncle played for the Brown back in the 40s when they won 4 straight AAFC Championships, and just missed an NFL Championship but got injured and had to retire...the Cardinals have two NFL Championships as well, 1924 and 1947, when they were the old Chicago Cardinals
Yes but Detroit has been trash since the super bowl era. And browns had success once they moved to Baltimore as ravens. The browns that started in the late 90s have even less success.

Just a reminder: the Browns’ win over the Steelers is their only postseason win ever. The Browns before 1999 are the Ravens now.
This is the one instance in sports where most people accept that the move created a new franchise even though they were an existing team. Fuck Art Modell
Cleveland was officially allowed to keep their team name and history, possibly the only city granted that courtesy.
@@flatulent-1 doesn't matter, they weren't allowed to keep their team. The browns team that left was built for a super bowl by Belicheck minus a few players. That was part of browns history that was taken to Baltimore and won a super bowl. That history browns can never take back.
The browns that started in the later 90s was an expansion team, and like every expansion team had to start from scratch with a trash owner.
Funny thing is that if they never moved, the patriot teams Belicheck built could have been the Browns teams.
When he brought up college basketball, I knew it was Nebraska. We were casually decent in the 90s, but were the victims of a 3-14 upset and a 6-11 upset. Since then, we’ve only made one tournament since 1998, when Tyronn Lue was still our point guard. Yeah, that Tyronn Lue. It’s been rough.

Lions have multiple championships, just all before the Super Bowl era
Glad someone else pointed this out too. Everyone seems to think NFL championships only count from Super Bowl 1 onward.
Just like the team 2 hours away to the southeast on the shores of Lake Erie.
For FIFA, you should have mentioned San Marino. They’ve only won a single match in their history, against Liechtenstein, and that was a friendly. They’ve never won an actual competitive match.
The Detroit Lions have won FOUR NFL CHAMPIONSHIPS: 1935, 1952, 1953, and 1957; the Cleveland Browns have won FOUR AAFC CHAMPIONSHIPS (1946, 47, 48, 49) and FOUR NFL CHAMPIONSHIPS (1950, 1954-55, 1964); and before you even go there, the Cardinals have won TWO NFL CHAMPIONSHIPS, 1924 and 1947; both coming when they were still playing in Chicago
Ever since the Washington Nationals won the 2019 Fall Classic, this M's fan wants to have hope that Seattle's turn will come soon.

As a Mariners fan, I don’t have any hope that will happen until they get ownership that actually gives a fuck about fielding a winning team.
I’m sure San Diego feels the same way, considering just how much money they spent on raw talent. Only to see the Dodgers still win.

As a massive F1 fan, my vote for this list has to go to Toyota. They entered F1 in 2002, never won a single race, never finished better than 4th in the standings, and left F1 in 2009 because of the global economic crisis, as they became the world’s largest auto manufacturer at the exact same time. It’s estimated Toyota spent about $2 Billion (Yes, with a B) on their program over the 8 years they competed, and had diddly squat to show for it. If there was a company that should have found success in F1, it should have been Toyota, given their success in other racing series and prominence on the global stage. But they never put up anything close to a proper challenge. Worst team ever has to be MasterCard-Lola, but like you mentioned with NCAA basketball, that’s just kicking a pathetic operation while it’s down.
I'm sure you knew at least one Browns fan would come out of the wood work to remind you that they won all four championships of the AAFL, and four NFL League Championships. ::shakes head in Dr Frank Ryan::

Five points I appreciate you including Nascar 👍
I going to try an add something new here. I have been watching this stuff since I was 8, back in 1968, so here's my list of most painful loss by a team to have never won a title.
NFL: 1990 Buffalo Bills
MLB:2011 Texas Rangers
NBA:1995 Phoenix Suns
NHL:1994 Vancouver Canucks
NCAA Final Four: 1983 Houston Cougars.
1979 Indiana St. Sycamores
2010 Butler Bulldogs
2008 Memphis Tigers (Vac)
NCAA FB1996: Arizona St. Sun Devils
All of these teams, except the Phoenix Suns, lost in the finals in painful, crushing ways and still have no title since to ease the pain. A lot of people love this stuff, but it really can be very emotionally damaging to care about your team.
P.S. World Cup: Tie 1974 Nederlands
2014 Nederlands
Which is worse? They're both about the same, they'll split the bill and go Dutch.
NHL:1994 Vancouver Canucks
Good thing for these teams that there's no Relegation in sports over here....But I'd like to see it in the NBA, for example. (yeah, I know it's not possible, but it would sure be interesting at least....)
I think a better F1 example would be Arrow Racing. From 1978 to 2002, they started in 382 races, but they never won not a single race. Plus, they only have one pole position in their lifetime. Not even the great Damon Hill was able to get them a win. He only managed one second place (they only had four other) in 1997.
You made my day when I saw the Kansas Jayhawks make the NCAA football list. As a Missouri fan I now laugh. 😂

If the Knicks didn't have their 'chips from the 70s, we'd be on this list. But for what it's worth, we had an All Star and recent playoff appearance.
For those who care about such things, in 2007, the year of the upset in College Football, on Nov 25, with the regular season over, the Missouri Tigers were No.1 and had to win the Big12 title game against Oklahoma to play in the BCS title game, while No.2 was West Virginia, who just had to beat a 4-7 Pitt Panther team in the "Backyard Brawl". These games are de facto semi final games. Needless to say, Mizzou is beaten their nemesis Oklahoma 38-17, and West Virginia is mega shocked, 13-9. Because of this, LSU, who had just lost to Arkansas, beats Georgia in the SEC Championship game and advances to play Ohio State in the BCS game. LSU wins 38-24 and becomes the first two loss national champ since the 1960 Minnesota Gophers, where Missouri crushes Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl 38-7, and West Virginia clobbers Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl 48-28. It's not too little, but it is too late. Two decent programs that squandered a chance to play for the national championship, and with the way college sports are, probably won't get that chance again.
It’s been 20 years since the Mariners made the playoffs. The 21 year olds were babies when that happened
Lions have only won their division 3 times ever since there were divisions in the league, in over 50 seasons. They used to be 5 teams in the NFC central. But it was changed in the 90s when they were reordered into the NFC north as one of four teams. Lions have never won the NFC north.
I think that is one of the most astounding marks of ineptitude.
I still can't believe the Detroit Lions have one single solitary lonesome playoff victory in the Super Bowl era.
That was new Orleans until Sean Payton got there in 06. It took them 20 years to make their first playoffs, pretty sure they only went like 4-5 times to playoff from 67-05, 3 in the 90. And from 67-2000 just got 1 playoff win in 2000 (pre super bowl era they couldn't even make playoffs lol). Didn't make playoffs again until 06 where they went to the conference championship. If they can turn it around Detroit can.
The Hornets have young stars in Lamelo Ball and Miles Bridges
