there is nothing like college football/ basketball, seriously some hungry ass teenagers trying to get to the next level, I love it
Once they get there, put in and spend...they get boring.
most of them are not teenagers. the vast majority are young men (aged 20 - 25), older than many NFL players. they are not there only to get to the "next" level, but to compete for their team, school, and state. NFL ball is just a private corporation with paid employees. Your team could move to a new location tomorrow and you'd have no say. There will be a second civil war if any serious attempt to remove college football was pursued.

I remember this game. Towards the end of this game the Florida defensive line was really taking over and the Miami QB had zero time to think . I dont know if Miami O line was so bad or Florida D line so good but I remember thinking I never seen so much pressure on a QB like that ever, every play.

Since this isn't an every play video, I can't tell exactly how Franks did, but I pretty much gleamed from everywhere I read and listened that turnovers aside, he looked average. I know this concerns Gator fans, but at least give him to the Auburn game before you start going crazy. Auburn's defense will be the true test.
QB Williams looks like he'll be fine, although his OL was so awful, you can't really judge how good he is yet. While Miami has been known for turnovers, that was ALL Florida. Every turnover by UF were either horrible mistakes, confusion, or just terrible ball handling. You can bet Mullen is reaming them over this.
Both teams have two weeks to figure out how they played so bad.

- turned out both were right. Miami's OL was awful and Florida's DL was elite. They finished 4th in sacks per game and 10th in TFL per game (both national)

- UF was 56th in the country in turnovers lost and Miami was 40th in turnovers gained. Four of UFs 18 turnovers on the year came against Miami and UF pretty much gave them away. Basically I was dead on.

I know that Miami's O-line is hot garbage, but man the Gators' D-line is nasty. 10 sacks. Ten! Once the Gators hit midseason form and clean up the poor tackling, they will be scary. I guarantee they will be undefeated when they roll into Baton Rouge to play LSU.

The Gators played three ACC teams that season and recorded 29 sacks in those three games. Miami had the least with 9 sacks givem up. FSU and UVA both allowed 10.

i've been to a lot of youtube videos for this game and i just have to say, why all the hate for Franks. he had a pretty good game. yes he did throw two bad picks but he threw 2 touchdowns and 254 yards in the game as well. i guess everybody forgets that. still, it was a sloppy game but i don't think Florida should be worried yet. they will be fine.

That's not how it works dumbass. Three times the last 4 years, the same 3 teams went to the playoffs. Two of the 3 won their conference championship with 0-1 losses every year and the other did it two years. The others have been the champ of the PAC, the best team in the Big 10, the SEC champ, or indie ND. Again, ALL of these teams had either 1 or no losses, won their conference, was simply the best team in their conference despite not winning it, or undefeated ND.
I want a bigger playoff myself, and early rankings do play a part in some ranking when teams fall, but that doesn't have anything to do with the playoffs.a
The rankings that matter don't come out until October anyway.

Florida didn’t really impress me and the Miami offense has a long way to go. Bold starting a true freshmen against a top 10 team at tackle in the first game of the season and it backfired. If the o line can come around they have a favorable schedule and could have a solid year and make it to the acc championship game. People are attacking Florida saying they don’t belong in the top 10. It’s the first game of the season and there’s a long way to go. I think they will be better than they played, people easily forgot that Clemson almost got beat by a and m early in the season last year and they improved as the season went on and won the title so I wouldn’t rush to such bold takes already
This is a good assessment. However, in terms of being championship contenders is seems like both of these teams are a couple of years away.

What a beautiful mess. Both teams looked super sloppy. Jarren Williams hardly ever had a chance to throw the ball, but when he did he looked solid. He also refused to throw the ball away which is something he’s gonna need to get used to doing behind that O Line. Franks looked mediocre at best. Both sides missed a ton of tackles as well. Neither of these teams look like contenders. The game was a mess, but it was a damn beautiful mess.
Why did Franks ever get the starting job?
