He was the most prepared back-up in the nation probably. Would have started last year for sure if it hadn't been for the injury. UF blessed to have riches at QB behind Franks.

I like how Trask is playing and distributing the ball. Our wide receivers are getting more and more confident catching his accurate ball. Then with Emory Jones in, the same seems to happen with our running backs. If we can run the ball as confidently with Trask in there then our our offense will be scary good. I guess the same can be said with Emory throwing the ball when he's in there. If they both continue to develop, then they will be complementing each other nicely and will challenge Georgia... could be a bit of 2006 in there as both Trask and Jones have bought in and are team players. Jefferson and Perrine are the leaders but Cleveland, Grimes and Copeland as well as Pierce and Davis could be huge by seasons end. Defense also seems better than last year! Hopefully they remain healthy! Go Gators!!

I don't comment often but I feel some folks will understand the significance. I am a Vols graduate and Knoxville born and raised. My 3 brothers and I are 20's - 30's adults now so every other year my father plans a trip to Gainesville to see the Vols play the Gators. The trips are always magical because of family and that's what Tennessee is all about. Certainly most can agree the 2013, 2015, and 2017 games were tough yet fair for Tennessee and Florida. This past year, our father's motto was "My boys showed up but our Vols didn't". After looking back at the season, I see the faults that this young and incohesive team had.. and Florida was the turning point. While the drive was long, sun was boiling hot and the loss brutal, the result was phenomenal for our Vols. I look forward to my family trips to Gainesville to see my brothers and Florida friends.. most importantly, I look forward to 2021 and going to Gainesville for the 1st time in a while.

I honestly don’t see how Tennessee is going to win a single conference game this season. They will be lucky to keep any conference game within double digits and that includes Vandy.
Here’s a thought. Move Tennessee to the Sunbelt Conference for a 2-3 year trial period and let them beat up on some glorified FCS schools to let their boys regain some confidence. Oh wait, the Sunbelt Conference has App State, GA State, and Troy in it. OK, let’s scratch that plan .......

These commentators sho did get hype whenever Tennessee made a good play.

One of the hardest thing for commentators is being able to talk about a game for 3.5-4 hours straight when one team is beating the other's head off of the curb. There's only so much you can talk about or discuss on air when the game is not a contest at all.
Gotta let Tennessee have its moments because those aren’t easy to come by this season.

@Jake Smith honestly Butch was the best thing at UT.. only thing he couldn't get over was the 4th quarter.. he brought in top recruits and took them to a few bowl games as well

Because he injured his foot a few years ago when they was competing for the starting position. He doesn't get as flustered as Frank's and makes better decisions.
I have a feeling it is because he doesn't seem to have much aspirations for the NFL and just wants to go to grad school on scholarship. I mean, Trask never cared about being a backup, and never looked at leaving to a school where he could get playing time. He just studied, worked hard - on and off the field - and stayed ready if needed. Franks has more of a professional drive, which might have led him to be perceived as more motivated. But, yeah, Trasks makes better decisions under pressure (that was Franks' weakness). I hope Mullen works closely with him so that he can still get all the studying and tutoring he needs while still supporting the needs of the team. Trask is now taking care of Gator Nation; Gator Nation needs to take care of him.

It’s crazy this used to be the game in the SEC, but Florida has just owned Tennessee since 2005, 14-1. It’s sad how one school, Florida, is miles ahead of Tennessee. Dan Mullen and Jeremy Pruitt both are in their second year and when both took over, they didn’t have much to work with, but Mullen has rebuilt the Gators program and has The Gators heading in the right direction, while Tennessee is just a shell of its former self. Florida-Tennessee in the 90s early 2000s, but those days are long gone.
Here's the thing. To get on top in the *ultra competitive* SEC hire a HC with proven HC experience at a power 5 conference. If you don't do that...well Zook, Muschamp, MacElwain, Pruitt, etc. shows what happens.
And, yeah, Tennessee is irrelevant now. They aren't a real rivalry anymore...they're about on the same level as Vandy.
Although Urban Meyer wasn’t from a power five conference when he first came to Florida. He coached bowling green MAC and Utah, when they were still Mountain West, he did pretty good at Florida
Can we get a contract extension for Jeremy Pruitt yet? I'm sure each and every Florida fan will easily be willing to donate 10 or 20$ so UT can float that man a 10 year guaranteed extension over his current contract.

My problem here is the end of the game and the main reason Tenn sux. I've never seen a team before that at the end of the game ... unless they had the lead and needed to run out the clock ... who would't do anything to score and go all out to get a touchdown no matter if it helped them or not. That shows the desire and heart of a team. Tenn? They simply ran running plays and wouldn't use their time outs to try and score even if it did them no good. Losing, they gave up and decided to run the clock. The problem with Tenn is they have no heart and that falls directly on the coach.
Guarantano had better make sure he pays attention in class and completes his degree cause Aint no NFL in his future

UT has a really good Basketball program which gains the majority of athletic funds. Why? The funds go torward the fan base. UT Basketball has a much more loyal fan base than the football program. Vols football fans are the worst, always downing and complaining. I've been a Vols fan for 30 years and it ain't gonna change until we get behind our team.
