Hey guys welcome back to the channel! For today’s video I thought we could kick off the holiday festivities a little early and check out a christmas movie! It feels like Netflix drops christmas movies earlier and earlier each year so I wasn’t totally surprised that they had dropping some of their new Christmas originals in November, but also thought hey if they’re not waiting, why should i wait? lets check them out now! The movie we’re going to be watching today is the sequel to one of Netflix’s more popular Christmas movies, being the Princess Switch starring Vanessa Hudgens! It’s been a while since I saw the original but I thought it could be fun to check out the newest instalment, The Princess Switch: Switched Again, in what I believe is supposed to be a trilogy.
If you havent seen the first movie, you follow Stacy and Margaret (both played by Vanessa Hudgens) who swap places after meeting at a baking competition and realizing they look eerily similar to each other, then end up falling in love with each others male counterpart by the end. Margaret is a duchess so it adds a little ~royal spice~ to the plot but by the end of it Stacy gets engaged to a prince so technically at this point they’re both royalty. That’s where they leave off and at surface level it looks like in the second movie a third twin comes out of the woodwork and complicates things for Stacy and Margaret while Margaret is preparing to be crowned Queen of Montenaro. What ends up happening? ~you’ll have to watch to find out~ ..lol

My favorite part is when they finally discuss the breakup (in, like, act 3 of this mess) and the baker dude straight-up looks a future queen in the eye and says something to the effect of "I thought we'd have a simple life. Y'know, live lowkey".
And it's implied this was the issue at the root of their breakup.

She was NEVER going to have a simple life with him in his little bakery. She was always going to have royal obligations. What the hell was HE thinking? Why was he punishing her for it? How could he not know what he was getting into? That just confirmed to me that a HUGE part of why her “loves” her is because she looks exactly like the woman he really loves. Cindy(I think that’s Baker Vanessa’s name) would’ve been happy at that bakery with him.

@@shoujokadyan5502 definitely wasn't shown to be either a documentary or reenactment. It would have even been a bit better if they mentioned something like that though. Because it definitely shows Margaret putting it on in the first one like anyone else did on Netflix (irl) and is shown to be a Christmas Netflix Original so.. And if it was the actors then they wouldn't have a baby they don't have, and if it was a reenactment the actors from the fictional version did, why oh why would Margaret want that at her coronation? It really shows how much thought they put into these films to make continuity errors. Could have just put another Netflix Christmas original in there instead or something. (yikes, this got away from me 😅😅)
I was there in Edinburgh and Glasgow while they were shooting this movie and it's kinda funny to me how this mystical imaginary Kingdom is literally Scotland.
