I’m a newborn Christian not quite 2 yet but I am 61. I went to my daughter’s church which is Apostolic Lutheran when I dedicated my life to Jesus. I like going there but it’s very small and every Sunday it’s about sin. So I have been on a quest of finding out more information about grace, faith justification well RUclips has been my go to lol . I’ve so far learned about calvinism, dispensationalism, new covenant theology, now Catholicism . I had no clue how much the differences there are in the beliefs. I just can’t believe how the Catholics do or the Rapture churches even though I really got into the rapture until I found Steve here. He brought me back to earth lol. I don’t agree everything my church does because they have a few catholic ways but they are believers and don’t believe once saved always saved. I’m still learning the scriptures and know I am saved by grace and faith alone through the blood of my savior. I am a sinner and will die a sinner but everyday I try to do the will of The father. 2 more videos to go and with all my research on RUclips 😅 it’s by far the best info I have gotten. Steve is an awesome teacher all glory to God.

One would think a guest would comport himself with more humility. Yet, his condescending demeanour & undercutting of Steve as a novice does nothing for his own cause.
Jesus said of himself”… I am the way the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the father but by me.”
And, “verily, verily I say unto you, He that believers on me hath everlasting life.”
Of Jesus, St Paul says in Roman’s 8:34-37 that Jesus is at the right hand of The Father and lives to make intercession for us who believe.
There’s much to learn from Steve. Both in the word, and his bearing when under fire. He’s a gracious host, with a non combative style that leads his guests to underestimate him.
At first blush, I wondered if Tim Staples had lost his mind, converting from his previous evangelical faith to Catholicism. And, with such evangelical zeal, no less. After three episodes, I’m reminded of the verse “They went out from us, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued, & not gone out from us, they would have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest, that not all of them were of us.” 1 John 2:19

Yes, I wonder this myself ( conversation from so to say for simplicity sake- Protestantism to RCC), as I'm other way around - raised RCC , went through New Age chaos and was saved to Truth in Christ ❤️ I could understand, if someone had bad experience in their protestant upbringing - abuse etc , or some other bad experience ( though one could change denomination or get off it, ) but as you pointed out - one might just never be saved in the first place... I'm a "freelancer" take something from almost each denomination something, eat the meat and spit the bones, and stick to few good ministries, study my Bible and build my Faith and Trust everyday in everything. I had more moment of overwhelmed being with some contradictory issues, but with help of holy spirit I went through it, RCC members have often very different approaches - like some are similar to deliverence ministries with focusing on dark forces and exorcisms, some are like charismatics - love their miracles and charismas, some are very scientific and are prone to even trying reconcile evolution with faith ( sic!), some are for mysticism and contemplative prayer ( so touching on New Age) and on and on - , some are radicals and some pro same sex marriage..., so just because they can't - get off and organise their own church ( as Tim was saying in something to hold against non RCC ) that doesn't mean RCC is agreeing on everything monolith - they pretend on the surface - cause their highly hierarchical structure depending on it, - but each church and their priest can have very different approaches... anyways, why would anyone wanted to come back to bondage, is like slave who was being freed, but prefer to stay in chains, cause feel safer that way...❤

Agree with you completely. I was baptised an Irish Catholic, & attended Catholic schools.
What’s not grappled with quite enough in debates with Catholics, is that in order to be saved, the Catechism requires Catholics observe the law completely.
Yet, St Paul tells us in Galatians 2:16. “… a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, since by works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
On that basis, according to the definition of mortal & venal sins in the Catechism, a Catholic’s salvation is always in jeopardy. To break one of the Ten Commandments is to condemn oneself to mortal damnation.
As to Tim Staples I question if he was ever a true believer. His apostasy is breathtaking if he was. IMO, rising up among the Catholic ranks where others bow & kiss your ring is an irresistible allure for many led by personal ambition.

Regarding Luke 11: 27-28, I would like to propose a parallel that you will appreciate. And in my humble opinion you are 100% correct in your clarification of this subject.
You’re fixated on the word, “rather.” Take a look just beyond it, “rather” WHAT? “blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Can you think of someone who we are told explicitly, heard the word of Gad and kept it?
Who said this? “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.”
I’m no Greek scholar, so I won’t argue with the meaning of “rather.” Let’s use your interpretation of it, “On the contrary.”
Mary not only consented and allowed Gods’ will to be done in her. She completely conformed her will to the will of God. That is the definition of “blessed.” And as Timothy said, Jesus couldn’t have said, “On the contrary, Mary is not blessed,” because it is in scripture, which He is the author of, that she IS “blessed among women.”
So what is Jesus correcting? Not that she is blessed, but that she is blessed based on the woman’s criteria, “womb that bore you and breasts that nursed you.” Jesus is correcting her definition of “blessed.” Jesus is taking one more opportunity to clarify that “blessed” or “chosen” have nothing to do with race, tribe or bloodline anymore (As you have discovered it NEVER was the basis for being chosen. Being chosen was ALWAYS based on faithfulness to the covenant with God.) “Blessed” is not what one is born into, it is what is freely chosen.
    So, here’s the parallel:
Suppose the woman had said, “blessed is Israel, the bloodline from which You came.”
Jesus might have said, “Rather, blessed is he who abides in God and His covenant.”
Would you interpret that as, “on the contrary, Israel is not blessed.” See the problem?
He is obviously not saying that Israel is not blessed. Again, He couldn’t. Scripture says that Israel IS blessed. So what is He being contrarian about here? Again, he is correcting a definition. Israel IS blessed, but not because of any bloodline. He is correcting the definition of “Israel.” As you have said on multiple occasions, Israel is not a race, it is a collection of people who have freely chosen to remain faithful to their covenant with God.
Same with the comment about Mary. He’s not taking issue with her being blessed. He is redefining “blessed.” To show that she is the pinnacle of “blessed,” based on her complete submission and obedience to the will of God. It has nothing to do with any biological circumstance.

blessing, those who hear and do the will of God. the flesh, in this case, counts for
nothing, and in all cases, except the blood of jesus, which gives life to the world.

I find it hard to believe that this would exclude Jesus' own mother. Of course, you will disagree- as if Mary had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Also, "..a woman called out, 'Blessed is the woman who gave birth to you and nursed you.' Jesus replied, 'Blessed RATHER are those who hear the word of God and obey.' " Luke 11:27, 28
What does that mean to you? That is certainly no exaltation of Mary whatsoever.
And it's blatantly obvious in many passages that she had other children- sons and daughters.
Only a catholic could deny that.

Every Catholic understands the difference between worshiping God alone and venerating the Mother of God. You can look up in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and there is a big difference between worship and venerate. Up until 500 years ago every Christian understood the difference between worshiping God and venerating of the Blessed Mother. For the first 1500 years of Christianity, no one was accused of idol worship, because they venerated the Mother of God. She is a creature and through a privilege which God granted her to become the mother of the second person of the Trinity - we would honor her just like Jesus honors her as His Mother.

Mary is to be esteemed and revered, but ultimately, she was as human as any of us and certainly not a mediator and "perpetual virgin, queen of heaven", as if lying with her husband stains her in any way and disqualifies her distinguished postion. That's ridiculous. In the catholic catechism the 2nd Commandment is removed which prohibits bowing down to any statue or image! They removed it! They then split the 10th Commandment in two separate commandments so that there remains 10! Look it up. It's insane!

Here's quotes from Mary, from Vatican approved Marian apparitions, please explain how these are not pointing to Mary:
"This is the seed of glory I offer as "MARY RECONCILER OF PEOPLE AND NATIONS", for I come to reconcile all of you."
"and behold, the Doctrine and the Gospel are enacted through the faith that comes forth from the heart of those who seek Me"
"The blood shed by Mary has a profound meaning. This precious blood was shed to ask your conversion, to ask for peace, in reparation for the ingratitude and outrages against the Lord. As with devotion to the Sacred Heart, apply yourself to devotion to the Most Precious Blood."
"Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamites which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved."
Everytime "Mary" says to devote ourselves to her, seek her, believe she "alone" can save us, reconcile us, relieve our suffering... these are all things scripture says Christ does for us. It takes all of this away from Jesus and places it on Mary. It creates a false god, a weakened and unbiblical Christ, based on these quotes that should be undeniable.
I pray you reconsider what you said.

I would encourage you to study history. Do you think the Bible just fell from the sky? The Canon of Scripture was given to us by the Catholic Church. That is a fact. So if you are a Bible based Christian, then you believe in the Holy Catholic Church that has the authority by Christ to determine what books would be part of the Canon of Scripture.
Here is the list of the three councils that defined what books were inspired and gave us the Canon of Scripture.
      1. In 382 at the Council of Rome under Pope Damasus
      2. In the year, 392 at the Council of Hippo reaffirmed the cmCanon.
      3. In 397 at the Council of Cartridge definitively affirmed the Canon.
For the first 400 years of Christianity, Christians did not have the written Scriptures in a canon yet. Something to ponder. If you study early church history, you will find the answer.

The Bible came from the Catholic Church. Please do your research and look at the 2000 year old history of the Catholic Church and Christendom. Christ started a Church and this was never disputed up until 500 years ago. The Catholic Bible has 73 books. My Bible hasn’t changed and is the same Bible approved by the Church at the Council of Rome, 382 A.D., the Council Hippo 392, and at the Council of Carthage 397 AD.
For the next 1100 years this was the canon of scripture with 73 books. It's only been in the last 500 years that Martin Luther remove seven books and added in faith alone and the idea that you can interpret the scriptures how you please. Today there are over 40,000 different protestants denominations but there's still only One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church started by Jesus Christ and will last until the end of time. Jesus started the Catholic Church, gave His Church the authority to bind and loose. Our Lord did so that all men and every age would have access to the fullness of truth. Having us all play Bible ping pong is not what Jesus had in mind. The Church that gave us the Canon of Scripture has the authority to interpret - for example, it was the Catholic Church that defined the Trinity, the Divinity of Christ and so forth that every Christian believes.
"And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 16:18-19).

Jesus, being the last Adam, had to be born human and perfect (sinless), so a human woman (Mary), like any other woman on earth was chosen by God to give birth to His Son, Jesus.
She is blessed by being given the privilege to birth Jesus and that's all her being blessed means.
She had to be a virgin and NOT a perpetual virgin, she had to come from a certain lineage and she had to be a godly woman but she was an ordinary woman who was a sinner and imperfect.
She had other biological children with Joseph after Jesus was born, so Jesus had siblings. These siblings were from Mary's womb and birthed by her.
She plays no further part in the Christian faith other than being a disciple and giving birth to a child that happened to be our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, God's Son.
Nothing in Scripture says she plays any part in Jesus' ministry and Messiahship.
She is not the mother of God, she is the mother of the Son of God. God does not have a mother.
    This is basic Christianity.
Catholics are not Christian but pagans and need a goddess to worship just like every other pagan religion. They believe in the doctrines of demons and not in the ONLY true God in heaven.

Mother Mary deserves our respect, period. No matter how much one feels her status should be elevated. The elevation of her status is the crux of this debate. It was like listening to a verbal tennis match. Endless serving back & forth. 2 titans for their respective sides of view. Both of these gentlemen are very astute in their theological ideologies. I believe though that neither side will get the other to convert over to their side. It was an intellectual exercise of one-upmanship in spiritual knowledge & interpretation. Bottom line though, is Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Ultimate Judge, as stated in (Matthew 25:31-46), (John5:26-29), (Rev 20:11-15). Jesus will weigh-out their views as being either righteous or heresy. Jesus then will cast Judgment and give a reward or punishment according to the views held. Our Lord is a righteous Judge, and He will take into consideration the heart & intention of any spoken & practiced errors of His Truth, as stated in (Luke 12:47-48). The worst case scenario at Judgment would be Jesus quoting (Matthew 7:23) to you...because of the not following Jesus's advice in (Matthew 15:14). So, we all need to pray to the Holy Spirit for discernment, and will get the right answers as promised by Jesus in (John 14:26) & (John 16:13). Well, God bless to Tim & Steve, two men who have deep heartfelt views of God & Scripture. Amen. 🙏❤

Here are some reason we hold Mary in high esteem from the Bible. We don’t worship her. We venerate her.
The big disadvantage we have is interpreting the Bible through our modern times and culture. You have to realize the books in the Bible are written for Jews and gentiles from THEIR times and cultures.
Jesus didn’t come to abolish the Old Testament he came to fulfill.
Study the Old Testament so the New Testament can be understood the way it is suppose to be understood. The Old represents things that are coming in the New.
Mary is the chosen daughter of the father. The chosen mother of Jesus and the chosen spouse of the Holy Spirit. She is the only human being that can make that claim. That’s why she is set apart and honored more. It’s a unique relationship with the Holy Trinity!
She is the mother of God. By she is the mother of Jesus. Not God the father or God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is God. That’s why we say she is the mother of God. That’s all we are saying by that. Jesus has Mary’s DNA. There is now scientific evidence that even all mothers have there babies cells that remain in there body…..(think about that for a second. Mary has Jesus’s living cells in her! Beautiful right!)
    Jesus is The King.
Angel Gabriel told Mary she will
Give birth to a son and he will sit on the throne of his father David. Mary was being told that she is going to be the mother of a King.
So let’s look into the Old Testament which Mary and all the Jews would have known….
The King always had a queen starting with Solomon. (1 Kings 2:19) His mother came into the room and he prostrated himself to his mother and then he built a throne at his right hand where his mother would sit. And from that point Solomon would with his Queen mother ruling next to him at his right hand and she the queen would intercede for their people. Ding ding ding. Doesn’t that sound familiar with the Catholics? Mary interceding. And from that point on ALL the kinds of Israel had a queen and it was always the mother. Not the wife. And the mother ruled with them in the kingdom.
If Jesus is the King and we know he is better then Solomon or any other King of Israel is he not going to raise his Mom up to be the best queen?
When you understand the Old Testament the New Testament comes to life and it only confirms the Catholic teachings.
We call these typologies. The connection of the Old to the New. Here are some more….
    Ark of the Covenant:
    - Let’s see why we call her the new Ark of the covenant.
What was the Ark of the old. A gold box about 4’ long by 2.5 ft. The gold represents the immaculate conception. The purity of Mary. Her Royalty as well.
What was inside the old Ark. The 10 commandments on Tablets of stone. That God wrote with his own fingers. There was also the bread “manna” and a rod that proved the priesthood of Aaron.
What did Mary think when Gabriel told
Mary the Holy Spirit will overshadow you and that which is in you will be the holy thing of God? She immediately would have thought of Exodus Ch. 40. In the Old Testament the only other time this word is used is when Moses built that Ark he stepped back and said what? The Holy Spirit of God overshadowed the Ark.
Let’s look at when Mary whet to the Hill Country to visit Elizabeth. Elizabeth said who am I that the mother of my Lord should come to me. John the baptized leaped and danced in her mother womb. Mary stayed there for 3 Months and everyone in the house was blessed. The word blessed is used 2 or 3 times in that passage. Where can we find this in the Old Testament? (2 Samuel 6) King David had brought the ark of the covenant to where? The HILL COUNTRY OF Judea. Mary went into the Hill Country of Judea. David leaped and danced in front of the Ark. John the Baptist leaped and danced in front of the ark. David also said who am I that the Ark of the lord should come to me. Elizabeth said to Mary who am I that the mother of my Lord should come to me? It said that David left the ark of the covenant in the house of obit edum for 3 months. Luke tells us Mary stayed at the house of Elizabeth for 3 months. And everyone in both of these houses where blessed. This is what the Gospel of Luke is trying to show us. You can’t tell me for one minute this is just coincidence! Those Parallels are the exact same. Luke knew exactly what he was writing by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Once again when you study the whole Bible you will be able to understand and the new covenant will come to life. Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant!
If you want to top it off even more let’s go to Revelation. Originally the Bible didn’t have chapters and vs in it. You do know that right? It’s good for us so we can be Organized and find things easier but it can hurt us also because it divides chapters and vs for us when it originally didn’t. Here is an example.
Revelation Ch 11…. It ends at vs 19 and says I looked into the heavens and behold I saw the tabernacle and it was opened and there was the Ark of the covenant. That ends the Chapter. But the very next thing you read is Ch 12. And it says… behold I saw the women in the clouds clothed with the son with the moon under her feet with a crown of 12 stars on her head and she’s the one who gives birth to the one who will rule the world with a rod of iron. When John wrote the book there were no chapters or versus. This all would have been read together. He sees the women as the Ark of the covenant and then sees the women as the queen. She is both. If you don’t understand the Old Testament you won’t understand the New and especially the book of Revelation.

Calling Mary the spouse is the Holy Spirit is blasphemous and unbiblical. Jesus existed eternally before Mary was conceived. She is not the mother of God. She was the mother of Jesus while he was here in human form. She was a good, faithful and righteous woman. Like millions of others. Jesus did not exalt her above others, especially when she wanted to reign him in when she thought he was talking crazy. He respected her and made sure she was taken care of. Other than that, she was just another human being. She can't be prayed to. She can't hear prayers or do anything about them. She certainly wouldn't have graven images made of her.

Steve, with all due respect you are being blinded by Satan. I pray that one day you will awaken to the great gift that God has given to us in His Blessed Mother. She is one of the greatest masterpieces that He created. It’s hard for me to comprehend how one accepts the Canon of Scripture, which came from the authoritative teaching office of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church (Council of Rome in 382, the Council of Hippo in 392 in the Council of Carthage in 397). But in 425 when the Church defined, Mary as the Mother of God you have a hard time with the tilde. It all comes down to authority.
On one hand, you accept the authority of the Canon of Scripture, and other basic Christian doctrines(Trinity, etc.) which the Catholic Church had defined, but you reject other things that the Church also define does not make sense to me. It becomes Bible ping pong using various scripture verses, but at the end of the day there Hass to be an authority teaching office and when you see people break away, then each one becomes its own authority and you have 40,000 different interpretations. You become your own authority.
If you look at the 2000 history of the Catholic Church, it wasn’t until the last 500 years that you start to see people having trouble accepting the Blessed Mother and honoring her with the great privilege and title as being the Mother of God. Even John Calvin and Martin Luther had great love and devotion to the Blessed Mother. I would encourage you to look at the Early Church Fathers and the majority of Christians throughout to 2000 years is not compatible with your theology on the Blessed Mother. Your theology on the Blessed Mother is definitely in the minority of Christians in the past 2000 years.
. I pray one day you will awaken to the great gift God has given to us by giving us hHs Mother. Anything good about Mary only comes from God. I hope and pray that you read Tim's Book, Behold Your Mother and also read the lives of those who've gone before us over the past 2000 years history of Christianity. Pax Christi!

Jesus was born through the process to erase the connection to Satan. Prior to Jesus, no one shared the birth status of having no sinful antecedents except Adam. Satan could place a claim on every one of fallen Adam’s descendants up to and ending with Jesus’ birth. That includes Jesus mother. If the scriptures somewhere informed us that Mary was the Second successful Eve, as Jesus was the successful Second Adam, there would be cause to elevate Mary to godlike status. However, if a Second Eve was to exist, wouldn’t she be the actual wife of the Messiah as Eve was created as the wife of Adam instead of the Messiah’s mother?
Catholic apologists believe their defense of the doctrine of Mary being held in special esteem should be militant. However defending things that are not elucidated in scripture or clarified by the Lord of the Second Advent in Competed Testament Age content, may be well intended but is a misplaced expression of defense and respect. What Catholics and Christians do not yet understand is something Jewish Rabbis understand, namely: the Messiah should be married and of course be a King the King of Kings. This means Eve’s position must be represented in the ministry of the Messiah, albeit not through his mother, or not through the Church, but through the Messiah’s flesh and blood wife.
Because this did not happen in Jesus’ life due to the faithlessness of the people who failed to fulfill their portion of responsibility to learn, believe and practice every word the Messiah Jesus spoke to them; because this did not happen, God started preparing for the Second Coming to establish the true family, wherein the Messiah’s marriage forms the basis to remove original sin through the engrafting process. The Lord of the Second Advent will conduct this engrafting process that cuts original sin through the main feature of his ministry which is marriage. Through fallen marriage all inherited a legacy of sin and conversely through the Messiah blessing your union all can be engrafted into God’s lineage.
Why is marriage the critical lynchpin? Because who and what initiates the complex male-female relationship decides the ownership of lineage. Does anyone really want the fallen angel Satan to be able to eternally place a claim on humanity because he lured Eve into an unprincipled sexual relationship? Does anyone really think Adam and Eve could have fallen after they achieved fruitfulness on the individual level through mind and body unity in the standard of God, which was God’s criteria for Him to call them to be married? Then we must conclude, even without direct spiritual confirmation of the exact nature of Satan’s crime, that Adam and Eve prematurely formed the family foundation through the unprincipled relationship between Eve and Satan. This is why they covered their sexual organs instead of their mouths.
Jude 1: 6-7 alludes to this original crime.
This however does not mean that Cain is the spawn of Satan. Rather Cain by order of birth represented the relationship between Eve and the angel that was totally unprincipled and fruitfulness in order for God to carry out the process of separating mankind from Satan and eventually subjugating him through the Messiah who does not throw away his mission per Satan’s requirement. God does not endow angels with human seed. Why would God do such an unprincipled thing?
Because Satan is not the Creator, the only way his lineal claim on God’s masterpiece of creation could be eternal is if Jesus would have left the stone in his possession in the wilderness. The stone is the source of the tablets. When Moses struck the stone out of anger, it gave Satan condition to strike Jesus in the event that the chosen people should fall into faithlessness.
This is why Moses could be forgiven for breaking the tablets but was forbidden from entering the promised land after striking the rock out of anger. Had Jesus thrown away his mission in the desert, the stone would have remained in Satan’s possession; wherein we would be forced to fight against each other like beasts perhaps for eternity. A lot was riding on Jesus careful response to the things of God. This is one reason we can bow to him and praise him.

That's very interesting take... never came across it in my wide searches, would you mind to elaborate with this "Satan seed" ? And the role of fallen angels in Genesis 6?
And was Jesus supposed to have a spouse as Messiah in Rabbinic tradition?

Literalistic is not a "tradition" at all it is an adjective to describe a perspective.
