Seen him in 1984...he blew everyone away with his tone, speed, and compositons. He came out familiar sounding due to his own influences, and won us with being a larger than life rock star!..he had image, and his intensity was so aggressive. He threw his guitar around like it was an axe...serving as a sword as he claimed his new crown. It took a lot of time for most of us guitarists to collect ourselves back up off the cutting floor, and even today, 40 years later, we know who we will never be. Oh there are many after him..vinnie moore, steve vai, joe satriani, greg howe, jason becker, paul gilbert, J.P., jason richardson, etc, etc, but even to this day, malmsteen is like the dragon that many guitarists should savior from a safe distance...like an old tale hidden in the pages of your childhood story book....but in reality, he is still here...welding his axe...(a term that is only held by the greatest guitar slingers)...on his own terms.
Genius arrogance and perfection is how I remember him, a man and his music together in perfect harmony, thrilling and unpredictable, I bow down in gratitude for everything he has given us, a Swedish treasure
In January of 1989 Yngwie did two concerts in what was then Leningrad Russia ( Now Saint Petersburg ) and called it " Trial By Fire: Live In Leningrad. Over 32 years later It is one Yngwie's Best Live Concerts. I'm proud to say I still have both CD and VHS unfortunately I don't have it on DVD.
Met him in '84. Came into a club we were playing and stayed for over an hour! we chatted and had a grand old time! He signed my Strat with the connotation, "Play Loud" Very nice guy and phenomenal guitarist!!
I have the First Yngie album Rising Force autographed & framed on my wall. One of the coolest album covers out there & the groundbreaking music was on another level. Been a fan since '85 when I was a freshman in High School. Wow, how the time passes
The most brilliant guitarist ever. So fortunate to have seen him several times in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Still have guitar picks, drumsticks and many great memories.
Amazing musician and performer. Went to see him with my band's other guitarist back in '85 after we heard a 30-second radio spot promoting the tour. We drove home in silence, no longer feeling like young guitar hotshots. It was inspiring, eventually... after 2 weeks of severe depression, jealousy and awe. This guy's on another level and he's been there nearly 40 years.
Yngwie Malmsteen is a timeless guitarist. At his level, you can truly feel a wall that’s hard to break through; the left-hand movements and picking are so challenging that they seem almost unattainable. Yet, he masterfully controls dynamics, delicately playing with the nuances of each note. His speed is also so overwhelming that it’s incredibly difficult to keep up.
Yngwie M rules…!! His absolutely best song ever all categories is just this one: Far beyond the sun!! Listen and enjoy! This is universe's greatest guitarist ever. I mean he has so many skills that no one else has. He’s god at arpeggio’s, he plays so clear tones that no one else can come up with, and he’s so dedicated on what he’s doing!! It's just bow and bow and hats off to you Yngwie Malmsteen!👌
Yngwie helped many musicians get to enjoy larger than life experiences. Few ever think to credit him for doing that for others. They rode his coattails.
Been listening to this since 2008 and I still get the same stun everytime I hear it just like the very first time, Yngwie you living legend, I appreciate your existence in my lifetime. ❤🙏
YM changed everything about music for me and I am a drummer. I heard Rising Force when it was released and bought it immediately. This cassette changed everything about metal for me. After YM I was a fan of Vinnie Moore, David T Chastain and ofc Gilbert and Freidman... Cacophony. Tony McAlpine was also awesome! Some excellent drummers played on these recordings!
Tal vez el mejor guitarrista del mundo Estaba muy adelantado para su época Pienso que debería volver hacer magia con las seis cuerdas nuevamente 💥👏👏👏💥✊✊✊
The master !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it , never get tired off hearing this. I bought Live in Leningrad wayyyy back then , its worn out lol. Nice too see ppl starting too react too this, man they have been missing out for years. Better late than never i guess
You can't get guitar playing better then this . This is outstanding to say the least . I should never have sold my Fender Custom Shop Malmsteen Strat from 1987 . 🎸☮️✨✨🎼🎼🏄🎆
Cool, the best! It`s a Great Bridge between mass heavy-metal music and the Great classical music - creative heritage of humanity! The best way to join the classical music - it`s Yngwie Malmsteen neoclassic-metal songs!
Favorite Rising force song!. all ways had an awe for the beginning of Far beyond the Sun!.. Summer 87,.. had my chance to see him in Phoenix.. Stage was weird half moon shaped.. made my way second row!.. knew song was coming up!..He started playing it but way on the other side of the stage!.. kinda bummed me out!.. but ran almost in my face played the whole intro about 6 feet in front of me.. just what I wanted to see!..Thanx Yngwie!.. .
I love you Yngwie, i really do! Thank you for giving us this amazing music. You are a true legend. You deserve everything in life and i wil listen to your music even to my last day.
Yngwie is on effing fire with a capital F... Don't recall seeing a performance of this energy, execution technical prowess etc from anyone at anytime, and I've been around.... Inspiring don't come close.
This is probably one of the most iconic solo medleys in the history of guitar.......I can guarantee 99.99% of today's guitarist at one point wanted to achieve or copied this solo....the other 0.01% just don't know how to play guitar.
THanks to Yngwie I had to Study Classical Guitar, I have seen him only twice live, and I even bought his signature Guitar years later, He made me be a REAL Musician.
En concert ce mec et une turie j'ai eu l'occasion de le voir deux fois et chaque fois il m'a donné des frissons sur tout le corps et oui c'est comme ça quand on aime bien la bonne zik et vous
No one - I repeat: no one ever mastered the guitar technically as YJM did. I am a guitar player, I know what I am talking about. His skill is out of this world, still today.
