Wow, just wow. I’ve always put off really listening to Yngwie because I thought he was another shredder with no feel. This performance proved me wrong, I just watched the entire video in awe. Now I know why he’s one of the greats and I was dead wrong to misjudge him.
Alot of people hate Yngwie because its the cool thing to do. Watch the video of dave navarro and george lynch. Lynch says yngwie is an inspiration and Dave is somewhat shocked. The dudes got talent undeniably.
My reason for buying my first fender.... When I realized i couldn’t play an E chord yet ... I switched to the blues ... 35 years later, I still have 2 fenders, still love yngwie’s style and amazing talent and I play for the love of music
All hail the maestro of shredding and the father of todays best players. Yngwie has been playing since he was 5yrs old and composing by age 13. Crisp clear tones and deadly accurate in playing, you can feel every note, simply a god of strings 🤘
This is the first time i heard Black Star and watched this video. :O I love that feeling when you find something so amazing and mezmerizing for the first time. I just want to hear it again and again and can't wait to listen to other pieces . Feels like exploring your first favourite band as a kid. Except i listened to tons of music already almost daily for at least 16 years and this should not be new to me, but i am happy it is. :) It is great to unknowingly keep some masterpieces for later.
He will forever stand alone in his place of masterful brilliance. he commands an excitement of power and talent unmatched by anyone, there is only one "Yngwie Malmsteen"
There are great guitarists and then you hear this 👏 absolute perfection 👌. Yngwie Malmsteen played this song flawlessly and made it look easy.... bow to the greatest
2023 all I can say is thank you Sweden for giving birth to this legend. Much love from Singapore. This man single-handedly made classical and metal music his. I don't see anyone that does this as good as him. Thank you Yngwie and above all 🇸🇪.
I could listen to him play all day. Absolutely stunning. I've played for 15 years now and the more I learn, the more I understand how far ahead Malmsteen is.
Is that one of the greatest shows of talent you have ever seen or what?! I did music in highschool because of this guy and he never ceases to amaze me, shame i never polished my own talent, now I'm 27 and things aren't looking good!
Yngiwie definitely payed his dues, worked very hard to come to near perfection on a God level. He is unsurpassed in so many ways. A true master of the guitar. Every note he plays is infused with taste. His ear is fine tuned. Great musician.
wow. wow. i found myself glued to the screen, didn't even blink.. so impressed.. i was always kind of bypassing Yngwie, i thought it is too much non-sense shredding for me.. but this is one of the best performances i've ever seen.
Such a brilliant song... That presence of the baroque style in each one of his pieces is so fucking beautiful, J.S Bach always will be a part of his pieces!
I really like to see this guy playing it touches the soul, and no doubt he's one of my heroes on guitar, (Yngwie Malmsteen) is, simply wonderful, and may God always enlighten you .
Am an old bass player and did one of the bass rips to audition for a band in New York.....no amps just hitting my strings. Now I'm 55 and I look back at that time If it were not for him...I would never have gotten the spot.....thank you for this video
I have to say of all the greats, no one has upheld their ability into old age quite like Yngwie. He still plays so smooth, clean, and impressively fast through the years.
Much like Niccolo Paganini, Yngwie Malmsteen sold his Soul for his magnificent performances, he is by far the best Guitarist in the world and beyond.🤘🏻
Yngwie wrote an amazing song here..I bought this record when it first came out and this song still blows me away. Also, the camera work is outstanding..
Ahh, what a melodious piece, simply superb, every I hear this "Ahh" comes out of my mouth as if it's supposed to, it always touches the deepest part of my heart. just too good. THANKS MALMSTEEN.
This is an original here , boys and girls , no mainstream BS one of the Greats , Respect Mr Yngwie Malmsteen , Thank you for you passion and love . God Bless .
That long sustained note he does near the end wails with feelings only heard this from yngwie hendrix and page live playing . It's proof he's much more than a shredder only
Technique meets feel meets classical. 1 of the greatest guitar players & songwriters of all time. I met him in Florida & he was a blast to hang out with
This kid is unreal.. Was the Strat ever meant to achieve these heights? The answer is a resounding 'YES!' There will never be another Yngwie. Not in several lifetimes. Someone who has delved so far into his instrument it has become a part of him.
Breathtaking performance. Full of confidence completely translated to audible intent and perfect intonation - the aim of every musician independent of style or genre. Great!
This man is in another world! How inspirational can you be, sir? I will struggle forward and by the grace of God, I will play 1/2 as well as you! TIME TO PRACTICE!!!
for my 17 years, you really conquered me I was 14 now I'm 17 and for these 3 years you really inspired me the first two albums and after that it's something cool, a concert in the USSR in my former country, although I wasn't born there yet, but still , it's chic, damn it, and the black star melody is so chic and emotional that I listen to it 10 times a day in different versions, I liked the version 1994 1989 and 1985 in Tokyo, 1994 is Budokan 1989 Leningrad, I want to say a huge thank you to you and your creativity, you are the best!
Thanks to you, I picked up a guitar when I broke my leg, I remembered the melody of Icarus Dream Op 4 and I managed to play the very beginning by ear and then I realized that's what I needed.
One educated Viking that has the chops and many techniques of the masters! It's in his bloodline and I bow to his parents !! Love the man that plays through 45 or more Marshall heads and has the technical ability to build his own shit!! I can hear my mom yelling at me at 12 yrs - " JJ !! get inside and practice those arpeggios or I will haff my way with your bottom!!!"...now at 75 I am making full circle!
“Yngwie Malmsteen is the best neoclassical guitarist in the world” - Yngwie Malmsteen
👍🤗
You are 💯 percent right my friend...
Brilliant.
Yngwie's playing, feel and dedication to his craft is beyond absurd
In the 80’s I was a teenager listening to his solos. Now I am in my 50’s listening to his solos ❤
Same for me too. I appreciate him now more than ever. I am looking forward to seeing him live.. #bucket list.
You have decades on me and I love his stuff
I can’t get enough of Yngwie this guy is a legend.
Some say Yngwie is speed and no feeling. My God. Yngwie is ALL feel. The speed is just PASSION. IMHO, best guitarist ever. I love this man. Hats off.
Perfectly stated.
Anyone else get massive chills when he hits the first high note bend and shreds it?
Always, for the last 15 years
Wow, just wow. I’ve always put off really listening to Yngwie because I thought he was another shredder with no feel. This performance proved me wrong, I just watched the entire video in awe. Now I know why he’s one of the greats and I was dead wrong to misjudge him.
I literally was just thinking the same thing
Alot of people hate Yngwie because its the cool thing to do. Watch the video of dave navarro and george lynch. Lynch says yngwie is an inspiration and Dave is somewhat shocked. The dudes got talent undeniably.
This is not just talent it is what hard work looks like!❤️🇸🇪
Only talent wont give you anything but the choice to maybe become a master in any field.
Yngwie is so theatrically Baroque that it gets a bit overwhelming but he's just so badass at whst he does that it just shuts me up.
That never occurred to me before but you’re totally right. It has that Baroque feel to it.
My reason for buying my first fender.... When I realized i couldn’t play an E chord yet ... I switched to the blues ... 35 years later, I still have 2 fenders, still love yngwie’s style and amazing talent and I play for the love of music

Man the sound quality of his guitar live is phenomenal
Flawless technique. Pay attention to how relaxed his picking is. Minimal wasted movement. Maestro
Especially with his teeth

His right hand technique is so brilliant. As a matter of fact everything about his playing is brilliant.

Once again, the Maestro melts everyone's faces! And that's why I've been a diehard fan since '85!
I remember listening to Yngwie back in the mid-80's and 90's ALL the time. This was some good shit.
You just cant fuck with Yngwie. I will argue to my dying breath that he is the GOAT on guitar. Its not just his playing but is showmanship as well.
this vibrato ... from another universe
I love how he mix classic music in his solos. love it
It's incredible to listen and watch this piece of art in these hard times. Thank U m-r Malmsteen!

I know the song over 30 years, and reading your comments made me cry😢❤
Thank You Yngwie !!!!!!!!
Absolutely Incredible, Thank you Sir for years of musical enjoyment. This song got me into metal and I am still on that journey after all these years.
He’s playing perfect harmonics while doing finger style with a pick, playing arpeggios, and nailing pentatonic notes. That’s a true god.
I really like to see this guy playing it touches the soul, and no doubt he's one of my heroes on guitar, (Yngwie Malmsteen) is, simply wonderful, and may God always enlighten you .

He deserved a better crowd, for such a performance. If I would have been there, I would have been going crazy.
I have always amazed at how this man plays, he doesn't write songs he creates overtures to the art of 6 string mastery. Oh my fucking god!!

Speechless. Amazing performance. Feel, tone, composition, spontaneity, showmanship, and, of course, chops. Thank you Yngwie.
My dear modern Paganini, your art is amazing! Shreddin' nylon strings is beautiful and with tons of feeling! Very sensitive!
a gifted artist plays divine guitar. I love it. I have never seen such play so devotedly. Thank you Yngwie
Saw him live in 1985 on the Rising Force tour in Pittsburgh. No one played like him back then.
