I think the Assist Trophy is actually a portal that summons the character rather than the character existing inside the trophy. Example being stuff like Burrowing Snagret from Pikmin, The Moon from Majora's Mask, and Rathalos from Monster Hunter. They don't come from the trophy. But possibly a portal opened by the trophy that we don't see.
Yeah, never thought of assist trophies as actually being the actual thing that gets summoned. I always just thought that they were some kind of representation of them that somehow summoned them.

Can I just say, as an EarthBound fan, it would’ve been mad funny that us Fans had it in our mind to make him a playable character as far back as 64. It’s nice to see Sakurai compensating for him by having him as a pseudo mascot
So the jumbotron takes the full rendered screen and puts it as it's own image the next frame, because the rendered screen didn't exist when it was rendering. This causes this 1 frame delay. It also means the repetition is infinite if it wasn't for the effect. This is unlike games using reflections where the reflection is calculated alongside the rendering. Requiring more performance than just using the previous frame, but you don't have one frame of delay.
The jumbotron works the same way it always has in Smash games - it shows the previously-rendered frame. That's why the stages with big screens like that don't cause lag, it's basically free to just re-use an already rendered image :)
3:20 Satoshi is also Red's default name in the Gen1 games, with Miyamoto being Blue's default name. The idea of them being named for the version names wouldn't have been a thing until the Pokemon Manga started
I just noticed the guidance stone on the tower isn't directly above the sheikah slate pedestal, which is kind of the whole point since it's supposed to drop a drip of Map Data Juice onto it. In the smash version it'd just fall on the floor in front of the pedestal (or Link if he's unlucky enough to be standing there)

At 15:30 the textures of the text seem to be overlapping because you can see a bit of the M behind the S. My guess is that they couldn't find a way to properly wrap the text around the stage otherwise.

That is to say, Gooey's one appearance would have been more important, and a lot of the games that made Meta Knight so big haven't released yet. Oh, and Gooey is kind of a huge anomaly lore-wise. A mystery that has yet to solved even to this day.
Gooey is honestly a character I'd like to see. Not only are we low on Kirby characters, but Gooey can do everything Kirby can do in Dreamland 3 meaning that we can have a Kirby character that represents the copy ability system better. Though also keep in mind that Bandana Dee has sort of become Kirby's Luigi over time and Gooey served that role in Dreamland 3 so basically Gooey is the original Bandana Dee 6:28 didn't that originate in smash melee though?
What especially interests me about Gooey as a Smash character is that most weapon abilities would work differently for him because he'd use his tongue to wield them & most of them weren't in Dreamland 3 so it gives free reign to just make it work whatever way is funnest for Smash. I imagine he wouldn't be able to copy other characters' abilities though, because it would be way too much work due to how different moves that involve a melee weapon or a punch would be when a tongue is involved.

Okay so interesting thing about Assist Trophies, you would ASSUME they contain characters just like pokeballs, which would fit your hypothesis that Kirby shouldn’t be able to eat living items, but there are a few assist trophy characters that don’t spawn in the location they should when you pick up the item. That is, most assist trophy characters appear to come out of the trophy and start being active right where you picked it up, but a very slim few don’t. I was able to count Rathalos, the Pac-Man Ghosts, and Color TV-Game 15, and pooooossibly Burrowing Snagret, though that wasn’t too clear to me since it starts underground anyway. I thought before testing that Moon was on this list, but surprisingly the Moon actually spawns at the trophy pickup location and then teleports to the background layer, which is a little odd to me.
Yay I actually know and can contribute: Satoshi was both the name of Ash Ketchum in the japanese anime, AND the original default name of the main character in pokemon red! Both were named after Satoshi Tajiri, and it's likely Ash was named Satoshi because of the default name in Red! Over here, his default name is, well, Red :) So it's very likely that the people in the poll were actually asking for the RBYG Pokemon protagonist
that's also is why the (Protagonist) is there, as to differentiate anime Satoshi, and RBYG Satoshi. I assume Ash wasn't called "Red" during localization specifically to avoid this confusion
To be fair with Gooey, at the time, Meta Knight's only appearances was as a boss in two games, whereas Gooey was the Player 2 in Dream Land 3, which actually had a more recent release than Meta Knight's most recent appearance at the time (1997 for KDL3 vs. 1996 for Super Star).

It was said that every character has some form of "hands," but I'm not sure that Bulbasaur counts. They use all four limbs as legs (I think they hold items in the mouth? I can't recall). Piranha Plant uses its leaves as hands, so I'm gonna count that, but I think Duck Hunt also doesn't really have hands, though that's somewhat exceptional since I think the bird can hold stuff. Even with these exceptions, idk how Mr. Saturn would work since I have no clue what he does, but maybe he could also hold stuff in his mouth? Even then, this dude would need like 15 moves and I just can't see that little guy doing much more than shuffling around
Mr. Saturns don't do anything as far as I remember from playing Mother 2 & 3. They're just funny ineffectual NPCs very similar to the Temmies from Undertale, which I think were a reference to them.

Yay I actually know and can contribute: Satoshi was both the name of Ash Ketchum in the japanese anime, AND the original default name of the main character in pokemon red! Both were named after Satoshi Tajiri, and it's likely Ash was named Satoshi because of the default name in Red! Over here, his default name is, well, Red :) So it's very likely that the people in the poll were actually asking for the RBYG Pokemon protagonist
that's also is why the (Protagonist) is there, as to differentiate anime Satoshi, and RBYG Satoshi. I assume Ash wasn't called "Red" during localization specifically to avoid this confusion
To be fair with Gooey, at the time, Meta Knight's only appearances was as a boss in two games, whereas Gooey was the Player 2 in Dream Land 3, which actually had a more recent release than Meta Knight's most recent appearance at the time (1997 for KDL3 vs. 1996 for Super Star).

A couple of weeks ago I went fishing with my dad and caught a 5 pound bass (I think? We didn’t have a scale and we just showed a picture of the fish to a guy who was really good at guessing)! Fishing is so much fun!

It was said that every character has some form of "hands," but I'm not sure that Bulbasaur counts. They use all four limbs as legs (I think they hold items in the mouth? I can't recall). Piranha Plant uses its leaves as hands, so I'm gonna count that, but I think Duck Hunt also doesn't really have hands, though that's somewhat exceptional since I think the bird can hold stuff. Even with these exceptions, idk how Mr. Saturn would work since I have no clue what he does, but maybe he could also hold stuff in his mouth? Even then, this dude would need like 15 moves and I just can't see that little guy doing much more than shuffling around
Mr. Saturns don't do anything as far as I remember from playing Mother 2 & 3. They're just funny ineffectual NPCs very similar to the Temmies from Undertale, which I think were a reference to them.
