    Love the split screen of the two cars corner-sync'd! Fun!

      Pretty cool to see how the input to both cars compares in the twisty section! The 981 Cayman's view will be out soon.

    What an incredible road. Until recently one of my good friends would hang with me in his STI, but he recently sold it. With enough money and proper tuning they can be formidable street cars, especially considering they're cheap economy cars at heart. In the end we're all boxer bros LOL

      Boxer forever. For sure it’s a quick car. Amazing how close it is actually. The turbo is the great equalizer.

    Damn - somebody said the video of this road from the Porsche 718 GTS 4.0 looked "chill" . . . . it doesn't look "chill" in a WRX-STi!!! Nice Drive.

      It’s a great compare - nice to see the STi pushing . . .

      It’s hard to capture the sense of speed with the GoPro. The smooth inputs by the drivers makes it look slower too. This was a pretty quick run - 8 or 9 tenths if I recall. Great road!

      @@kendamer1480 yes - moving right along for sure. Grip limited.

    Excellent video as always. Something that has come into my mind recently is how much different a true sports car differentiates itself with something like a car that's a bit more practical or on the daily driver side. Think WRX STI or Golf GTI. My brother recently picked up an NA generation '91 Miata and the difference in driving experience is completely different to my MK7.5 GTI Autobahn. Both are a blast to drive but you defintley can do more with less in the true dedicated sports car.

      I couldn’t agree more. The comparison between the cars is tough to really get in a video- but we are trying to show the same road with the STi and the 981 / 718 so the viewer can see back to back how different the experiences are. This RUclips journey has taught me the value of the experience over the speed to 60 or whatever other stat. I don’t think you could say the STi driver didn’t have an exciting experience on that road. I bet some might think that about the Porsches - but then again the high Gs are tough to get across on the vids. Once again - appreciate it!

    I own a 2022 Macan S and would be very curious to see how it would keep up on these roads haha. Great videos as always!

      I'm sure you'd hang no problem on the straight sections. . . . the problem though is that there really weren't any straight sections 😀

      @@trueview3127 it does handle the twisties really good for its size and weight though tbh

      @jaszm4713 I agree. The Mecan S rips on the corners. We have had a few ahead of us over the years. Definitely a force in the curves.

    Perhaps I could join you all one day in my 2015 mustang gt performance pack 6speed. Driven those n. ga. mtns roads several times.

      Sounds like a blast. We had a guy in our crew with a GT350 - although sadly he lost that car in a rain - loss of traction - situation. Love the sound of the V8! Definitely a group drive possible sometime in the future! Appreciate the comment.

    Whats that dangly bit hanging from the right visor?

    • @trueview3127
      @trueview3127  4 месяца назад

      That’s the G meter! It’s a small F1 tire. I think mediums with the yellow stripe. The video looks a little static without something to show the g forces.

    I might have to disagree with your assessment of the curviest road in GA. Have you been on GA Route 28 between Highlands NC and Walhalla SC?

      @trueview3127  5 месяцев назад

      We have tried that one. Let me check the footage! Thanks for the suggestion!

    Has the Subaru driver ever done spirited driving?
    Seems like he is just a casual perhaps,not the best comparison
    Looking forward to more different types of cars to be demonstrated on the channel 👍

      He definitely has - actually has the most experience on track and is mostly always with our group. Check the channel for more videos of the STi - including one from Tail of the Dragon last year. More to come this season. Cheers!

    Not too bad, If he's running stage 1 cobb tune it's more like 290hp/320tq wheel.
    Porsches are not unknown for making very close to advertised hp to the wheels.
    Everyone complains about longer gearing on those porsches but I bet they weren't on this road.

      Good point on the tuned numbers for the STi. No complaints - 180 is a great backroad! Hope you checked out a few others on the channel!

    If you close your eyes you can imagine the WRX STI is a 718 flat four turbo.😆
