Seiko 5 always is my favorite, because they got a common function : all automatic ,and day , date display, plus 100m water resistant and rotary bezel if you get dive style in sports series. If you have a Ferrari , you still want have fun with a 86 some time ,same reason : you own a Rolex, but a seiko5 is perfect gear for your fishing, boating and camping .
No other company can compete with Seiko on there variety, just there Seiko 5 line is bigger then most companies whole lines , almost all of there watches have that Seiko mojo from the seventies but with a modern flare
Love Seiko, but hate the 5 on the dial. Have a sea urchin, but will only go for regular Seikos in the future. Would prefer my SKX over any of the new Seiko 5 substitutes, even with the inferior caliber. Since i wear a Samurai, the prospex-line is my Seiko limit.
I have an SNXS77K (blue dial). It was given to me as a gift. I really like the style, it's my first automatic watch. Too bad, I feel like my wrist is too big for that watch (around 7" wrist). Coming from wearing a G-Shock, I was not used to wearing small watches. But I still wear it sometimes. Now Seiko Samurai (black dial) is my daily watch.
Deja Vu! Great again. My snk809 is one of my most worn watches. Great looking, Very easy to read at a seconds glance and super comfortable as well as indestructible. This watch should be in everyone’s collection.
I just want to point out the SRPB96K is absolutel unique and underrated. I bought one because it matched my stethoscope, put on a chocolate rubber strap, and now it's my work watch! It's got a beautiful rose gold/copper body and chocolate dial. Absolutely unique and I get tons of compliments on it.
I have a Seiko SNKL43 and SRPD55 in my collection and both are amazing. You can't go wrong with the Seiko :) get yourself a dressier one, a diver style one and add one digital Casio on top of that and that's all you need when it comes to watches :)
Been browsing kohls and macys website looking for a good looking seiko collection to add to my casio. You just showed a ton of beautiful watches. Especially the leather bands. This is gonna be a pricey new hobby
Subscribed! Great channel wow. I have a really small wrist and most of my watches doesn't fit well (I got those as gift and never bought a watch for myself). Your channel rekindles my search for a small watches. Just a request can you do something similar for Citizens top 10 like Seiko. Great informative videos. Thanks again!
Seiko 5 series is a watch icon for the Cubans born in the 60s and the 70s . The kids wore SNK809s and the adults SNKL41s . All of us . Mine was black , on a rubber strap .
Seiko. the most underrated watch company in the world. Totally nuts the quality you get for the price, makes Swiss made watches seem like you getting robbed just by trying them on let along buying them.
You should do a Top 10 Orient 3 Star watches...there are literally hundreds of those models. I started off with Seiko 5's but gravitated towards 3 stars and now have more 3 stars than Seiko 5's.
@@mikewysko2268 If only Citizen would still produce their Eagle 7's we'd then have a 3-5-7 faceoff. But I think the Seiko 5's are slightly higher quality in my experience. Not the timekeeping themselves, but the finishing, bracelet, and the see-through case backs that many Seiko 5's have in addition to their slightly harder hardlex crystals that they use.
Just rewatching this, but the watch you showed at the snkk27 intro @3:44 is not the snkk27, but the snk371. They are extremely similar but the snk371 is my choice because it is slightly smaller at around 36.5mm and has an 18mm lug width vs the 38.5 mm and 20mm of the snkk27. The bracelet on the snk371 is more of a jubilee bracelet as well.
Great video recently got my first seiko and first automatic watch it got the SNGZ15 in black and love it got the bug and already on the lookout for my next seiko
I work in construction and I have an SNKK27, for the price you can't get a better automatic watch that you dont have to worry about being gentle with. I have 3 NATO straps to change it up and couldn't be happier with my purchase!
I don't have the SNZH57 but I have the SNZH53 which is the one with the blue dial. It's just gorgeous. Also, forgot to mention so editing now, are you able to do an updated version of this video as the value of many of these have increased. Thanks for reading if you are! And great video, subscribed. 😄
Fantastic video Alessandro! You knocked it out the park. I can add the Srpb96 it’s rose gold tone with a chocolate brown sunburst Dial and more the a hint of Tudor for that Black Bay vibe. I still can’t find one cheap enough to pull the trigger on though.
Great subject and list! I’d like to put in a vote for the overlooked SKZ209J - Vintage Explorer style dial, beautiful polished case, drilled lugs, solid end links, 200m resist, all done-up in the deepest, darkest blue possible...Damn, she’s fine!😎
The snkk line is called the Speed Racer because one of the dial options is white grey and red, resembling Speed Racers car the Mach 5 from the animated series. Not because of "racing vibes"
I have a SNZG15 and I do love it. It fits perfectly on my 7 inch wrist. I was trying SNKL41 since i do love their look. But unfortunately it ends up to be very small for my wrist( So far SNZG15 is the only automatic watch I have and do need. I will upgrade them to MH36 movement one day once I will find a local watchmaker.
Hi sir, can i ask about the SNXS79 can i replace it with a 20mm bracelet? Because i saw a jubillee bracelet seiko and i am thinking of replacing the bracelet is the 20mm the right size of bracelet for it?
Great video. The 5 series is sooo nice and i absolutely love both my snkl41 and snxs79, infact the very first picture is my very watch hheehe. Thanks for the inspiration Alessandro, keep it up
If you want a proper divewatch on a slender wrist (mine is 6 inches) look for an Skx013. It is the smaller cousin of the much heralded skx007 and is very robust, yet not bulky 200m diver.
The Seiko 5 Turtle is very cool. I have the black version on the Bracelet. Those cushion cases are great. Seiko does a bad job promoting he Seiko 5. There are a bunch of newer Seiko 5s with the 4r36 movment but there is limited info on them. I found out about them thru RUclips or eBay/Amazon. The Seiko 5 Baby Ice Monster is another col newer Seiko 5.
Alessandro, thank you so much for your attention to detail and passion for watches. It speaks a lot to your character and love for watches to update your video! Recently found your channel, and love your stuff! Keep it up! So far I just have a casio gshock 5600, and want to expand my watch collection. I was debating between a dress and a diver, but leaning towards dress so I can wear for future weddings. Out of all the seikos, which dress watch would you recommend less than 200 dollars? PS I too have slender wrists 😂
Thank you so much! Not super easy to find a dress watch for under $200, but I would go Orient Bambino (V1, gen 2, rose gold), Tissot T-Classic, Seiko SNKL45 - all with a new leather strap.
@@TimedSquare Thank you for your response! What are your thoughts on wear dive watches in formal occasions? Between the Orient and Seiko dress watches you recommend, which would you pick between the two?
Damn it you just blew the lid on a model Ive only found in stock in very few places, better get it now before they're gone lmao. EDIT: phew just ordered it, I can now say you forgot about the red Seiko 5 turtle
Nik 007 Timex for timekeeping since it’s a quartz movement and you really can’t beat that in terms of accuracy, but you gotta change it’s battery now and then and if the component is broken then the watch is fried for good. Seiko 5 for how cool it is, it’s an automatic movement so technically it can go on indefinitely as long as it is treated well and serviced. But it sometimes losses or gain time 20ish seconds a day.

My fav Seiko 5s are : SNKL41 and the legendary SNKL23.
What is the female version of the SNKL41?
Sal Ruffino not really the female version since they both seem like unisex watches but the snka01
A nice bunch of "5's"that epitomize a budget touch of class on each watch.
Cheers !!

What a fantastic video! Thank you so much for pulling all this together for us - much appreciated!
I have the snkl43, dark blue dial.. Looks luxurious on a dark brown/oxblood leather strap.
I usually wear my 43 on a sporty nato strap, but leather looks nice too!
Love the dark brown strap too on the snkl45! Where did you source it from??
This is one of your best videos yet. I really enjoyed watching the Seiko 5 line. Keep up the good work

nice vid dude. I thought that SNXS79K wouldn't appear, but it seems like its also your top 1 pick. that seiko5 is a must buy.

That's what I'm thinking, buying a SRPB96k and change it to brown strap
I have the SNKE51, blue dial. I got it for about $85 a few months ago. It’s a little more now but well worth it, IMO.
I love Seiko 5.... I have one here it's almost 12 yrs still in good condition.....

Thank you Craig! I was about to feature that one too but choices... I like this diver too, and the Tudor vibe is evident.
Great watches for guys with small wrists. I wore a couple of these back in high school. These days I go for bigger watches with presence.
Alternatively, you can save a little more for a Seiko SARB033 or SARB035. Best watches at their price range.
I completely agree, even if they cost 3 to 4 times more and they're harder and harder to find new with guarantee.
I own the Blue variant of the SNKE01, the SNKD99K1 and its really beautiful. If you want a Mini Grand Seiko SBGE283, it will be a great choice!
Nice video Alessandro, keep up the nice content. I want buy the snkl41 but should I pay the premium and buy the “made in Japan” version?

Craig Rodgers That’s the one AKA Landshark and Gadget too!

My favourite out of these is SNKL45 such a great looking watch dressed up or down. SNKE01 probably close second with a more sporty vibe.
Honourable mention for the Snkl23 - I was able to get 1 for 70 Euros recently, so they may come back in stock again :)

How often should you service an automatic watch ? What is done during servicing ? Does it cost more than the price of the watch itself ?
I've SNXS79K all steel, which is really beautiful and comfortable all day use.

Very nice nd useful
Just ordered a Seiko SNKM87K1 should come tomorrow hopefully anyone got/had one? going to change the strap for either a mesh or brown leather I think not decided yet.
Hey I just bought the SNKL41 on your recommendation :) I have compared numerous models and the last 2 I had considered is this and the SNKK87 which is also beautiful and had a 20mm strap (instead of the 18mm of the SNKL41).
Finally, I decided that I preferred the dauphine hands that makes the SNKL41 look so much like a Grand Seiko.
Any opinions regarding 18mm vs 20mm watch strap on a 6 inch male wrist?
I prefer the 18mm, it looks more refined for me. It's like the strap doesn't pop up more that the watch body.
Which is better gold or steel color?
SNK357, I like so much the textured dial! What do you think with a perlon strap ?
The only thing i dislike about the snkl is the crown it’s kinda big unlike the snxs and snkk it is recessed, if it is on 3 o clock position i will definitely buy the snkl41
Good work
do you have to reset the Date every month?
The Seiko 5 Turtle is actually a retro model of the first ever Seiko Sports Turtle in 1968.
For the white dial i got myself snk789 still wearing on its original bracelet.
