Congratulations to wifey and Bjorn !!! 👶
hehe
Was that Bjorn or dad joke... And Japanese food, "Korean BBQ" that's Asian humor right?
Haha you were right 😜
Wow was right!
this is actually quite funny given the fact you posted this before his 'very important announcement' video.
When we travel in the US we need to stop for BIO breaks well before our Model Y needs to do. So we use SCers as rest stops and in the 10 or 15 minutes we are there we plugin and top off the Tesla and get back on the road and go as fast as we can without regard to ANY range issues. We are 69 years old and this is by far the nicest way for us to travel.
Cannot be overstated. People who drive more than 4 hours on a stretch are being unhealthy. It's also proven with data that accident rates rise with continuous hours driven. I try to do 2 hr 45 min - 3 hr 30 min length legs and have done so throughout my life. Bladder, eat, stretch = all important.
@@mkkm945 I think most people who say they need a car to do 400-500 miles probably don’t drive that far at all without stopping and don’t think that it is then they would just charge.
@@jonathansmith5850 Exactly. It's such a big hole in the education experience. They also think they stop for 5 minutes which is just not true. Stops are usually longer, if food included much longer.
Same here!
@@mkkm945 I've driven 1,900km in 23h no problem.
I love the change of pace with these travel videos. Great to see the Model Y is reliable so far. I’m excited to get mine some day.
I did similar route from Trondheim to Croatia this summer in my Model3. Roundtrip of about 6300 km!
So I did a ride to Croatia in three days. I averaged 1000 km/day, meaning that driving myself with a fossil car I wouldn't be faster. This was mainly due to the fact that I could not get vaccinated in Norway by the time I went on the road, so was in need to get to Croatia as fast as possible so my corona test certificates would be valid. I have chosen the ferry route to Denmark going from Langesund to Hirtshals, and made sleepover stops in Drammen, Kiel, and Regensburg before reaching Croatian coast.
After being in Croatia for four weeks I've gotten both vaccine shots and was ready for a nice and relaxing detour return trip back to Norway. I went back visiting Budapest, Prague, Hamburg and Aalborg, then taking again the ferry from Hirtshals to Langesund and continuing to Trondheim.
I can only say that it went flawlessly in every way possible. Charging stops were on spot to get my legs stretched, get some food and drinks and of course pee breaks. The car drove just awesome! Not to mention that basic autopilot takes away a lot of stress and makes you relax, otherwise I wouldn't be able to drive that long- that I know for sure.
Björn cant wait for your drive with Rimac Nevera drive with CEO Mathe in Croatia Factory Campus. 😁👍🔔🚘
I have the same experience as Bjørn when trying to optimally charge on family trips; you cannot get the SoC low enough. Essentially, when travelling with the family, the rule is "when we stop, we plug in"; that way, you _never_ have to wait for the car to finish charging ever.
Or to put it another way... if your car had a smaller battery, it wouldn't make any difference.
@@jonathanmelhuish4530 It's basically about range anxiety
@@jonathanmelhuish4530 In Summer, definitely; even 350-400 km is enough. Winter is a different story though. I appreciate the theoretical 500 km of my M3 LR AWD then, because actual range is considerably less.
Agree. Getting an ev soon and deciding between the MY or Ioniq5. I envision for family road trips, the avaibility of Superchargers is critical. Just this summer alone, many of our family trips had many Superchargers along the way but very few electrify amarca chagers, if any.
@@niekbergboer Good to know, thank you. I'm considering whether to get a MY LR AWD for road-tripping through Europe, or wait for a SR model which would hopefully be a lot more affordable.
We just missed to shake hands at Bernau am Chiemsee supercharger; I just finished putting some shopping stuff in the trunk and was returning back to my wife when you just passed on departing the supercharger. Hopefully we manage a next time. It was amazing to see a good number of Model Ys at German and Austrian Superchargers.
Can definitely confirm the "no more smell in tunnels/behind old cars". It was unexpected, and thus very pleasant surprise!
I drove the same road last month, there was a lot of traffic especially through Germany, enjoy, have a nice trip 😀
Now is less tourists
Please continue to Croatia!!! We can drink beer together :-)
Edit: I've just watched the whole video - enjoy the trip and have lots of fun!! :-D
Bjørn dont drink alcohol...
@@trinitonv8 We also have Cool beer which is 0% alcohol :-)
@@trinitonv8 “Bjørn = bear” google?? 😂
@@starvictory7079 there’s a translate to English button under his comment. And when you translate it, bjørn turns to bear
Hello from Slovenia! Nice to see you coming for a visit! Good to hear about phantom breaking improvements. Looking at the video I see that it was cloudy when you talked about it, it could be that less harsh shadows helped with it. Let us know how autopilot works in different countries as you go through them, that would be interesting to know if you notice anything! Does this model Y have FSD upgrade?
Seems like Bjorn is ignoring all waves from Slovenia 🤷🏼♂️ But I think he’s just busy with driving, filming and making videos for us! 🤩
Can absolutely recommend Gostilna Podfarovž restaurant in Vipava, we had a fabulous meal there a couple of years ago for about the same price as a McDonald's in Norway. Don't miss it!
I live in Vipava and Ljubljana. Vipava is one of rare towns without AC chargers :)
Fun! On the road, again! You and wifey.
While I enjoy the road tests you do, these road trips are very satisfying.
FYI, I have a Model 3 and that car easily holds the luggage for my family of two adults and two teenage boys (and my wife likes to overpack!) plus snacks, tech/photo gear, outerwear, etc. We keep the passenger space free of clutter so humans have room.
Enjoy the trip, Bjorn. Life is good!
8:01 , Congratulations from the future!
Welcome to Slovenia Bjorn!!! Nice to see you here!
08:05 - Assuming that was a Freudian slip; CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to parenthood.
You're correct!
Greetings from Slovenia, have a safe trip! I own a Model Y in white, maybe we’ll meet on your way! :)
Nice to see you visiting/passing through my (ex) home country Slovenia.
Nice to see you visiting Denmark, and good to see some more real life charging strategies - at least for us driving with kids.
If you are coming back the same way and need an alternative to Korean BBQ we have one of the worlds only Michelin starred Thai restaurants. Its not exactly cheap, but its pretty good.
Happy for the both of you. Thanks for sharing. All the best.
I just used your referral code when ordering my new M3 LR, as a thank you for all the great videos! I hope you use the km's going on another nice road trip :)
/Grannen i öster
Thank you :)
I have experienced 2 phantom breaks over 40 000km in my model 3 -21. Been following the channel for a long time and always wondered how you manage to get so many phantom breaks. Glad you also feel it´s getting better.
Brakes
@@EinkOLED thanks for educating me. Next time I need to translate something, I will reach out to you.
@@kentfusag5458 Brake and break have different meanings.
@@EinkOLED no shit. Can you survive my mistake?
Now thats what im talking about Bjørn big azz road trips! Im all in :)
Following:)
We´re driving down to Porec in Croatia next summer:)
15th time in total but first time with EV
ABC, always be weeing…wee stops for the win!
We’ve noticed that fantom braking has got much less frequent, and smoother/more gradual…rather than being ejected through the windscreen.;)
Nice relaxed start to the trip. Looking forward to the Y in UK.
On our travel to Denmark we got good charging speeds 234KW, when charging started below 20%.
19:00 Hey Bjorn aside from Tesla, one of my hobbies is traveling the world eating ramen. Highly recommend Slurp Ramen in Copenhagen. Chef Phillip trained in Japan and at Noma. Brings a good fusion of Michelin techniques to traditional ramen. That was one of my most memorable bowls I have ever had.
A ship with new Teslas came to Slovenian port Koper yesterday for the first time and now Bjorn is comming here as well? How cool is that.
The brobizz also comes in black, so it blends perfectly in my MS 85D at the dedicated place top middle of windscreen (the area where there is no metallic lamination blocking sun and coincidentally radio signals)
Bjorn, you are livin' the dream.
Best wishes to you both. Great stzrt to a super journey. Just the right pace!
Nice to see you in Copenhagen, Bjørn! Next time let me know, i will send you some good restaurant recommendations. Also, the traffic at Scandic Sydhavnen is also terrible noisy and overcrowded.
I’ve definitely noticed far less phantom braking in my M3LR since 2021.24.10. I’ve now got 2021.34.10 so we’ll see how that goes
Curious if the MIC model Y removed the radar and just using vision?
Thumbs up Björn!! Great Trip, great effort of yours!!
Bled Lake is really really a lovely place, and also all the Kaerten in Austria is beautiful
Didn't know you could name your roadtrip in the Tesla. Cool. Have to check out if my classic Model S got that fiture.
Have a nice trip, greetings from Austria
Nice trip ! Wish you & wifey a pleasant journey.
I'm with my wife and Corgi in Ukraine with our M3 SR+ for the second year in a row.
At the moment were about 1300 km away from the nearest SuC, been using Yasno 50 kW CCS chargers(Prepaid).
Here in Zaporizhija mostly 11 kW type 2 and a CCS 20 kW from UGV Chargers that you can pay through their app & Visa.
😎Thanks Baawss, These trips are great, and Wifey looks so happy, yaay Great Video You both deserve this break Enjoy. Cheers
Is this Model Y with 20" wheels? How does it drive and compared to the 19" or even those 18" you changed? It looks much better on black rims!! Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Looks like these are the standard 19s. On the blue Y Bjorn talked about, he changed the 19s standard set for an aftermarket 18" with Chinese rubber.
8:05 wait what? bjørn, was that a hint? if yes, congratulations!
If yes, good luck next year, with house building and baby at the same time ... He's name will be Insomnia ... but, never knows, i might be wrong. A ninja can take it. :)))
You are squeezing every drop of lifetime!
If I hadn't children I'd surely do likewise. Even though no regret here. I still can feel jealous.
I wish you good luck master!
PD Take care of your recording equipment. I'd do a list to avoid loss and check. You have so many things now!
Have fun :)! Europe is so multifaceted! Just amazing!
Great video, thinking about Croatia trip in our M3 next summer! Shame about the gas BBQ in the restaurant :)
I drove 7300 Km through 3 countries in July/August in 3 Weeks. With a Tesla it was no problem. Almost boring I would say. Sadly there we no / or only a few possibilities to charge AC, therefore I charged 98% DC only. But this is how it is. I had 2 days when I drove 1200-1200 Km, and 4 days with the family (kids 3 and 6) when we had 600-700-600-650 Km. Also not a big issue. At the tesla supercharger they could place their "charging rocks" (check on Facebook) and they had fun. ;)
What's up bjorn? I am glad that you will come to the territory of ex-Yugoslavia. I am from Serbia and I am looking forward to your visit to Croatia and Slovenia. As for food, I don't think you will have any problems in the Balkans because we have great food, I think you will be very satisfied. As someone has already mentioned, while in Slovenia you should visit Lake Bled. I don't know if you've ever heard of the Yugoslav Yugo car from Zastava? I'm thinking something, Model Y could be called Model Yugo in Serbia and ex Yugoslavia 😅😂
Great to see your road trip, we are going to do our firest roadvtrip to Croatia in 2 weeks, can not wait
Hi Björn from Oulu Finland. You just said pregnant woman? Are you expecting? If so, then MANY CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH! That is so wonderful. I have 3 girls and that is the best! Hope you get the house in Jessheim soon. Safe trip and enjoy! Thank you for the updates..
Yes, it would be cool to meet you in Croatia
« when i’m travelling with wifey i can’t never go too deep » 🤣🤣
I am loving this video so far, so many people have mentioned it, 8:05 if true, congratulations. I also love your a Starcraft Nerd!
dont miss out on rovinj! our highlight on our croatia roadtrip this summer (even better than dubrovnik)
I wish it was possible to book a charger with the hotel room. Would make planning easier, just arrive on empty battery and charge all night.
nice weather
an excellent "real world" experience shared
!upcoming ... System overload 🤯
So much content 👍🏽
Finally back on the roads again :)
Bwah, i was planing to do this too Sweden to Croatia and then Albania in a ID3 58Kw. You are doing it in easymode (Tesla) tho :P
I will be making my trip next year, have a great time Slovenia and Croatioa are truly wonderfull countries with very nice people.
Seoul restaurant is the best Korean cousine in Kopenhagen, and by the way i love your testdrive videos
ending the evening with sum Starcraft. Oooo yea
7:37 Shiiit, I "realy" love when truck drivers do that sweep to the left lane. Is he going the change lanes? That is why most of the phantom breaking happens. :(
To be fair, car companies now offer europe wide charge payment solutions. Like Audi or VW, where you pay all over europe reasonable prices with just one card.
Go to Maribor Slovenia seaech for Ankora and try njoki carbonara..simple but excellent taste ....
If you plan to visit croatia and slavonija, city: slavonski brod. You can stay at my place for free. Tesla smart apartment. Tesla Supercharger is Slavonski Brod also!
8:07 so is she pregnant ?
The new model Y Don`t have raidar ! This must be why you do not experience as much phantom braking as with another model :-D
13:47 Me every time I see one here in Germany.
Same, but with any EV/PHEV.
The joys of no radar sensor fusion!
Love you Videos - Visit Vienna, my hometown. I think you'll love it
I have been in Vienna many times. A nice city.
Phantom Breaking caused by radar earlier, now, should be a thing of the past, since all new Model 3 and Y are based on Tesla Vision (camera-based) only. :)
Radar is still there.
Under what circumstances does the 12-volt outlet for your cooler stay on? I assume that if the climate is set to stay on or dog mode it does but what about when you leave the car on the climate turns off? Are both the front and rear outlet operated the same or does one stay on all the time and one turn on and off?
Just did a 3200km road trip from The Netherlands to Poland, Slovakia and Czech Republic. It's quite an outland the eastern part of Poland and Slovakia as there are not so much charging options, or there is a charger but none of my 4 cards are accepted...
I drove 8500 km recently on a summer break trip across Europe in Model 3 LR 2021. I believe I only got a gentle phantom breaking once. Lord Elon heard you ;) Enjoy your busy trip!
"Let's try this bulgogi.. Mmm, good, good! Yeah, I wouldn't go back there" 🤪
I have only elforeningens rfid. One is enough.
solid state battery? interesting love ya bjorn
Hey Björn I'm looking forward to meet you in my hometown Munich :P
Kyle from Out of Spec motoring is in Norway. Would love to see some content together
I kind of assumed that would happen. :D
@@rud Yeah it doesn't seem like it but it would have been very cool! My two teachers about EV roadtripping, Kyle a bit more crazy.
just read/ viewed the video on the model Y being successful in the moose test.
No mandatory room check ?
Quite a lot of the vibrations visible on the dashboard camera when driving in Sweden. Bad roads there or does model Y has really so much stiffer suspension?
Safe Trip!. Tip: dip the pork scratchings in dark soy.
Tesla Model Y is good car to buy, is there any news for 7 seat option in Europe. The option was there few months back but removed in tesla website
Looking forward for your trip with the BMW i 4 !
Me as a Hydralisc would enjoy going with you on a trip as a Templar 😄
Hi Bjørn. Thanks for your informative videos. Is it possible that in the future you can test trunk and frunk with things that are more relevant to families than a banana box? I would like to know how many large suitcases, small suitcases can fit in. Haven't seen other channels that do? Drive carefully.
Did you ever try nextcharge operator for charging? Maybe you don't have supported networks in your region though. In Italy it supports most brands in roaming
Bjorn, will you also travel through Zürich?
To Short :D Could not wait for next one
4 people with luggage well there's room for it but it will be difficult to keep the max payment load.
Let us know upfront when you come to Slovenia, we can meet. Will you also travel down south when Slovenia will be the first country in EU to receive some Apteras? Elaphe, the in-wheel motor maker, will get a few for testing. Should be fun ...
Nice! Watching some Pro Gamer play Starcraft.
Ex pro gamer. He's not pro anymore.
@@bjornnyland funny was I had to rewind and liste once again to make sure my ears didn't trick me. I met a friend yesterday I used to play Starcraft with when I was "young". So I was confused how it's possible to watch my dose of Bjorn and randomly hear starcraft... anyways. Need to watch Part 2 now before bed. Greetings from Switzerland
Hope to see you in Croatia? Is it possible to organize meeating somewere? MG ZS EV owner as you😎
Baby on the way….congrats
We have pear trees in Norway Bjørn 😉
I came here for the eating parts. :D
Hi Bjørn, cut you make a video about paint warped protection, is it a must have whit Tesla? Also, a video about iPhone mini and max, they can’t charge wireless because of size. They don’t match up whit the coils. Is there a fix on that, that don’t look homemade 😊
Bästa korean bbq är dock i Thailand i Bangkok i Pra kanong 😁 Och i Koh Samui 😁😁
You should visit Hungary also! It's on the way to Croatia!
You're living on the edge by eating Thai curry on a road trip. I always try to stay away from foods that can make me wish I traveled with a portable toilet. I usually eat tuna or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the predictability of movements. 😁
No, we're not. But you would be.
