    (Clara here) I am proud of Sansa but I can understand why some of you aren't.
    I agree, she could've told Jon about Littlefinger, but I also agree with other comments saying that that could've made the situation much worse.
    And we can't forget that Sansa told Jon that they should wait until they have a bigger army. She knows Ramsay and she knew there was no hope for Rickon, she also knew that Ramsay would have been able to come up with a different strategy if he had known about the army of the vale.
    So yes, I am proud of Sansa, and i stand by that

      Sansa arguing with Jon was not a plea to get him to wait. She already knows there are no more men to be had because she went with Jon to all the northern houses trying to recruit them. Those words were for Ramsey's spies. We know he has them in Jon's camp because at the parley, Ramsey give an accurate account and make up of Jon's army and confidently predicts victory. Sansa was feeding bad intel back to Ramsey which is also why she doesn't tell Jon about the Vale.

    I see a few comments about the writing around this time in the series, and while you can argue about when GOT started dipping in quality, I think that (cinematically) this is one of THE most gripping episodes of television I've ever seen. The shots, the music, the culmination of so many different character threads, the overall arc of the episode... so thrilling and soooo rewarding. And the continuous shots/camera work in the actual battle are *chefs kiss*

      They needed the element of surprise, and Jon would've planned differently if he was counting on the knights of the Vale. And an even worse scenario, what if Littlefinger said no? Sansa doesn't trust him, rightly so, and had no idea if he would come. If Jon was counting on him and he DIDN'T show, it would be even worse.

      @mamaseesa3122 Месяц назад +4

      @MarcoInvo lol have you seen Littlefinger? He always has an ace or ten up his sleeve. There's no way he would move the entire army just in case Sansa asked for it. He had no guarantee she would do that. He had back up plans for that army just in case. The man may not be king, but he's king of thinking ahead. The only person who knew he was there was Sansa, and he would never count on anyone but himself, so he would never sit and twiddle his thumbs waiting for her.
      And also, when it comes to Sansa herself, she doesn't trust anybody. I wouldn't either if I'd been through the shit she has. Especially Littlefinger. WE know he's ready to do her bidding, but SHE doesn't think she can count on him.

    Why Sansa kept her mouth shut about Littlefinger and The Vale? This made no damn sense to me. She’s arguing with Jon (before the battle mind you) about not having enough men yet she had an army in her pocket? WTF?! Why is anybody proud of her? She just wanted all the credit. I’m sorry, That was stupid! And the way Sansa looked when she saw Jon was still alive and the way she talks to him…to me, that heffa wanted him to die.

      I didn’t think she knew if Littlefinger was coming or not so telling Jon about a possible army coming with Littlefinger of all people wouldn’t have done much but just piss Jon off. But I do agree that she should have communicated something but she did tell Jon to wait before he went after Ramsey and she did warn him about the tricks he plays so I don’t think she wanted him to die.

      She didn't trust Jon to make the right call. Do you really think Jon would've been willing to team up with LF? The man that sold his sister to their enemy and abandoned her? She did what needed to be done. Jon proved her right in this episode. He is led by his emotions. He was an awful commander this episode. How many thousands died because he abandoned his post to ride solo into the opposing army, forcing his men to abandon their advantage and ride after him to protect Jon. It would've led to their doom had it not been for Sansa.

  • @adamtideman4953
    @adamtideman4953 Месяц назад +1

    This episode, while visually stunning, has some of the worst writing of the series when you really start to think about it. Why didn't Sansa tell Jon about Littlefingers army? All they had to do was wait an extra day for the army to arrive and they could've avoided this battle. Terrible writing.

    • @gunkulator1
      @gunkulator1 27 дней назад +1

      Think it through. If they avoid the battle, Ramsey wins by default. Winter is coming and the knights of the Vale would have to retreat south to survive. Ramsey then goes north with his superior army and easily defeats Jon just like he said he would.

    • @adamtideman4953
      @adamtideman4953 19 дней назад +1

      @@gunkulator1 How does Ramsey win by default? When Littlefingers army arrive, a fresh army of the entire Vale that avoided the war of the five kings, what is Ramsay going to do about it? He doesnt even hold the entire North and the army he does have are decimated after having fought the Lannisters. Worst case scenario for Littlefingers army is they'd have to go through a lengthy siege of Winterfell but even that's an infinitely better position for Sansa and Jon than Jon doing a Leeroy Jenkins charge with his measly army of wildlings.

    • @adamtideman4953
      @adamtideman4953 19 дней назад

      @@gunkulator1 And then there's the plothole of Moat Cailin. How did the army of the Vale pass Moat Cailin without Ramsay noticing? Moat Cailin was a huge deal in the books and was the main reason Rob couldnt return North as long as the Ironborn held it. Hell how did Roose Bolton get past Moat Cailin under the nose of the Ironborn back in Season 4? The answer is D&D are just lazy writers which became painfully apparent in the later seasons.
