- In this video I show you how to tame a Diplodocus. This creature is just a smaller version of the Bronto, but they are a bit more interesting in that they use both taming methods to tame. I talk about how to tame them in both the non-violent and knockout methods. In the end, it doesn't matter how you tame them, it takes the same amount of time.
You wake up in the middle of nowhere, maybe it's a beach, a mountain, a forest, or a jungle, but it is no place that you have known. There is a strange device implanted into your arm. Welcome to the ark. The place where long extinct creatures eat you while you feebly try to survive. This series is my attempt to show you little things that will help you flourish.

I'm guessing there has been a change to their attack dmg too as after aggroing one it killed me, my parasaur and a couple of my Pteranodons before I quit the game to de-agro it next to my base. 🙁I would not have attacked a level 135 like that if you didn't say they did no damage.

Same thing happened to me, I ended up taming the thing and killing a bloody theri that was attacking me.
It was suppose to be a simple metal run but nope, she decided to play with my dingdong.

I almost pooped for real in the ice area murky water looking for salmon when a sarco caught me under the ice I panicked and killed it with my ascended spear jumped on my argy and never went back

I heard that diblodocus is useless but me and My sister maked IT usefull.
U know The metal rocks on The side of cliffs where u can't get, Well IT Works that My sister Will go on The diblodocus' head and i Will move The diblos hed to The metal rocks and we got 1000 metal ores.
little story i just wanted to tell u that diblo IS underrated Dino
its not useless though. you can ride it with 10 people and all of them can use weapon, this creature have a large capacity and life span. you can also use this as a tank while attacking something.
@@aoyamasora3724 also if you're trying to tame a Giga you can pump up a diplos health and easily get 100k health if it's decent level. Then you can just use it as a tank
Moschops is underatted too I got enough transfer to tame a managmr with it lol
U know what Else IS underrated dodos and chalicotheriums . dodos eggs give large ammount of food and IT can Make so much kibble. Chalicos are good at base defending If u add 70 levels on to melee damage and put The where they can throw rocks and others can't attack them or kill them in Time before theyre tames die it can Be More wortht than using 50 turrets but everyone has forgot them and don't tame them enyMore.
Edit: My favourite Combi IS Gavin 2 or 4 chalicos, 2 dilos, 1 or 2 parasaurs and some Times kentros, that is good base defence at lvl 36-60

A Diplodocus could be used as some sort of bus or for metal runs. Can also be used as a war mount, have all seats occupied with the riders with rocket launchers, assault rifles, etc.
I appreciate this comment, I was wondering why anyone would bother taming this instead of a brontosaurus. So I'm guessing the simple saddle that carries multiple people is a big plus.
@@utahraptorfast it can carry 10 players at once, a record only rivaled by platform saddles, it is also faster than most platform saddles and has more weight than any other passenger saddle
It can move fast which is cool and also it has alot of health so it can be a good tank :)
I use them for metal i put metal in it because it can carry the vronto is slow while diplo can run

When i was taiming one I just feed it Again and again without Getting it Knocked....
Downside it took literally 2 days and 1 night so Her name Is Overnight.

One trick is u feed it with passive leave it for about 30 minutes or an hour and it won't eat during that so when you knock it out it's door is very low.

When I first saw a dip I thought it was a bronto that had a nest and I got near the nest so it became aggressive,it was at night so I couldn’t really see much of it

Iceing terror198 Lidkea it’s easy asf, there’s one always between the carno island and the cold biome, but go to the edge of the world deep down but take a crap ton of toxic, and arrows also I’d recommend you to bring meat instead of fish, or atleast kibble

Addition information: the diplo's food levels to drop almost 5,000 food points after that first passive tame feed. That's why it takes so goddamn long to tame these things.
I tamed a level 280 (my server is on difficulty 10 so max level is 300 plus 6 times taming speed) and its food level had to drop to 55,180 out of 60,000 for a feed. After that it had to drop back to that every time after I fed it kibble. Kibble only gives like 250 food points so thats why the later feeds are faster. This seriously needs to rebalanced in ARK:Ascended because the diplo has virtually no use aside from novelty tame and to feed to Carchars to tame them. No other passive tamed creature in ARK (that I know of) needs this level of intentional time consumption.
It was funny seeing a carno with the diplo because in my game there is this diplo and carno in a fight

Diplo is good for farming wood for example when you play on basic settings i use diplo to drag some more resources cuz mu theri weight is too low

I only ever tamed a diplodocus once on ragnarok, and even then I don't think I ever even used it because I didn't have the saddle, so when I got a saddle for one out of a beacon on crystal isles I decided to make it my berry gatherer. After about three lifetimes waiting I finally got the second feed off, then a few more decades pass and I get the third and the fourth... then the SOB vanishes into thin air, man I was FURIOUS, I tossed the saddle on the ground and never looked back
Well it a pre bronto but people with low level knock out bronto so simple but diplo is whole another level

diplodocus is usefull in pvp so i always tame diplodocus and use in pvp when my teamate die and when they ready fight again im gonna use diplodocus to go them
Tips and tricks brontosaurus
Guys theres easiest ways to tame him you need maybe 30 or 40 mejoberys :
1 find him then add mejoberies to crow bar dont come close to him go under his legs then he cant attack u ant then feed and wait and if he will be hungry feed him
it took me 1 day to tame this but only 1ark day so it took me a little less or more than 20 minutes on no knockout
I managed to get under the diplodocus in such a way that it can't hit me nor can it move so I peaceful tamed it
Heres how to tame a diplodocus by passive tame go to a cliff and lure it and just let him keep hitting u as it makes his hunger go down more faster and feed him

In ark mobile do you know if you can switch chairs while in rider seat? Also can you push your own tames around? Thinking of launching c4 dodos on an enemy base with it lol.

I found a high level one (370) so i decided to take my soothing balm and some mejoberries.
First berry was 4% only but it was fine.
But the problem is The hunger wont go down and it literally took me about 20 minutes to feed it again. I decided to not tame it anymore lol.

Me today: skip all that. Use a equus to kick him till he goes out, remember u got no berries, gather some using a horse, give them to it. Return tomorrow and done

I looked this up because a Diplodocus wandered near my base and keeps pushing all my tames around and it’s annoying, I’d feel bad if I killed it
diplo with 20k health and 2000 inventory would be really great for a walking chest..... or just kill them for xp
I understand that this was made like a year ago- But there is a level 10 male diplodocus that I really want to tame. I’m level 29, I have a crossbow and around 60-70 tranq arrows, I’m not sure whether to do a knockout tame or not, can anyone help me? LOL (I also don’t have regular kibble, but I have mejoberries- a lot of them lol)
Uhm so I come back again- and I passive tamed it with mejoberries, it didn’t take as long as I thought, he’s now level 14 and I’m just waiting to get a saddle LOL

Ya..... I tamed a bronto instead no balm took so long but not for me I just killed some more bronto with my master craft sword :P I only have 1 tribe mate so.... 2 tribe mates in total me admin him as another admin.......

I feel bad about killing them because they are trying to be your friend. They remind me too much of giant dogs. They are however very annoying when they keep pushing me around. I have accumulated far too many Diplodocus'.
