- In this video, I talk about how to tame a Yutyrannus. These guys are constantly surrounded by carnos, and this factor alone makes them a difficult tame. They also have a nasty roar that causes fear in everything that is in front of them. This, makes them a total pain to tame, especially alone. But it's not impossible. I show several different methods for dealing with the Yutyrannus, and how to tame it.
You wake up in the middle of nowhere, maybe it's a beach, a mountain, a forest, or a jungle, but it is no place that you have known. There is a strange device implanted into your arm. Welcome to the ark. The place where long extinct creatures eat you while you feebly try to survive. This series is my attempt to show you little things that will help you flourish.

I've always thought the yutyrannus trophy was pretty brutal. Sure other dinos give you horns, some skin, an arm, etc. The yuty gives you a bloody internal organ.

Hahaha! Yes! Freaking terrifying. Especially when it starts losing altitude. It definitely feels like a "I'm about to lose everything moment." They did a great job on the debuff visual.
Especially if you are in a tight hall in the bear cave on Ragnarok and you can't run or fight (My bird took 2,000 damage in 10 seconds)
When your lvl 500 argy or griffin gets fear roared by a lvl 1 yuty

FYI, to outrun a yutyrannus on foot, you’ll need to level your movement speed to at least 181% :)
So I guess, its best to set the taming structure.... go on a Raptor.... shoot the damn thing on it's butthole (important detail) and run to the structure :P

The trap is by far the easiest way to tame these. Use yourself as bait, and park your support Dino a ways off in case the yuty misses the trap
yeah, it is stupid easy if you don't mind dying. Just put your good gear in storage near the trap and lure him in. Most of the time I just pull the yuty into the trap naked and still don't die.

I like how this seems more deadly in the game than normal predators yet the real Yutyrannus was barely bigger than a Juvenile Tyrannosaur. gud vid tho

It is a tyrannosaur
On a flyer you can seperate it from the carnos using a steep incline that it can climb but the carnos can not. You can also lure carnos of a cliff when they wander away from the yuti . With a Griffin you can go straight up then come straight down and then fire straightish down on the yuti. Once it starts running away chase it while firing. A trap is ok but sometimes their a real pain getting them in it.
Worst are those damn wolves murdering Yuty before I even land.
the hardest part of taming a yuty is they start fights with every damn thing they see and die fast and hard before you can trap them.

The way I tame them is with rex that has decent health (they are immune to the fear). Just munch the carnos and let the yuti attack the rex on passive mode while you jump off and shoot the yuti. They will keep aggro on the rex forever. You just have to be careful you don't get bitten accidentally, and watch out for other nearby predators. When they run, just jump on the rex and clear stuff around as you chase and tranq.

I don’t know how, but I managed to tame a 145. I made a trap, but rather than go inside of it, it just say there biting the walls. Fine by me, I got it down to when it starts to run away, and hen it became a chicken with its head cut off, a pain in the butt.
There's this one area on valguero where there are tons of yutys,to find it go to the north west mountains and you'll see this weird giant spike and there's a lake beside it where you'll find like 4 yutys,also there is a natural yuty trap towards this ice cave with one of the artifacts in

For the stairs you might need some less materials or some more materials depending on if the floor level is even or not. You might also need pillars but y'all can figure that one out cus I'm too lazy for extra calculating.

This trap design is bad. You can build one with a 2×3 stone platform and two stacked rows of stone doorframes. For the platform, just use wood. In total thats 6 stone platforms, 20 stone door frames and 4 (at most 6) wooden ramps.
@@deadmeme9980 The design you just said would be more cost efficient, but it makes it easier for the creature to not land inside the trap, but yeah your design would still work and be more cost efficient

Geangulo A. Breed and imprint an otter and level up it’s melee dmg. It gives ton of insulation which scales which scales with melee, which in turn receives a bonus from imprinting. You can make any environment tolerable naked with a good enough otter iirc.

why you dont recommend getting raw mutton for taming
It's more difficult to gather than other types of available food due to the relative rarity of Ovis compared to the large abundance of creatures who give raw prime meat.
It's not something I would recommend to seek out, but if you can get some to the creature you're taming you'll be able to save some time.

@@gackspop9723 Ovis will only eat sweet vegetable cake, even after being tamed. If you can sustain that, go for it.

you can trap it in a single base with 4 frames and ramps... get a sleeping bag near, and just let it kill you, to make sure is traped.
Fun fact: if u knock out a level 100 yuty if use raw prime it might go 10% per rawprime meat consumed but it might not work I don recommend doing it

There’s a much cheaper trap you can use for trapping a Yuty. Simply place down a stone foundation with two stone double doorframes stacked on top of one another on one side and one stone double doorframe on the opposite side, with a stone staircase leading up the latter side.

You can use a 2 by 2 taming trap aswell, its just a little bit harder to get it in, but you wont waste as much tranqs

I used a wyvern got a long neck rifle with tranq darts and shot it from a mountain it can’t climb and when it runs I hop on the wyvern at least I let my friend fly as I lay on it

It sounds like you're using the sloped roof piece instead of the ramp piece.
Put foundations on the side with the ramp, put walls on top, then add ramps. Make sure they are ramps not sloped roofs. The other 3 sides of the trap I use fence foundations.

There was a ytyrannus stuck in an ice berg, i shot it with so many shocking tranq darts and it didn’t lose oxygen when it was in the water

For that one homeboy without the stuff to make a trap just get a thylo stand on the side of a mountain kill Carlos one yuty starts running and get prime then knock the yuty and give it prime and if there is no mountains just get somewhere with no dinos or only passive dinos and then lead it to somewhere where it can't get you
Me and my brother tamed one with a tapejara and shock darts loaded in ascendant rifles.
i recommend captain fatdog he shows how to build a much simpler version of this trap
Kiting it from the tundra to the island where most people bag their first rex on The Island was a paaaaiiiiinnnnnn but will make the Tek Cave easier boosting all my tribes tames
To be honest im only taming a yuty on my singleplayer file cause im too lazy to wait for an golden hesperornis egg to drop to make such a kibble (extraordinary kibble)
And i know i could use brontos or gigas but neither of them are as cute i mean its a furry rex
Update: i just looked up on dododex and bronto or giga eggs are used in exceptional kibble but heres the thing
Im playing on ragnarok so the yuty or the duck are the only ones to drop special eggs cause i will not transfer a deinonychus over to my ragnarok file cause i dont have a valguero file and im not starting one for KIBBLE (same for aberration and the rock drake) and i dont have genesis 1 and a wyvern egg is too much of an effort to get to make 1 kibble
But i think i could just make an golden egg farm with some duck so this whole text is useless and i just wastet five minutes of my life in which i could have played ark

i found a lone one of these things without a carno with her
I decided to try and sperate each of the carnos, got two trapped and ko, then found out the yuti came looking with the last car o and tried to free the 2 I trapped, then shot them while they were busy trying to free their comrades.... Could not sperate such a nice family so ended up taming the whole lot and got one hell of a team.
I tried to use a yuty to befriend a level 180 alpha skeleton Carno… Let’s just say that didn’t work out well because I couldn’t use my roar in time

cant you tame it with raw meat do you have to use prime meat
you can tame it with raw meat but it takes way longer and it ruins it's taming effectiveness it's better to use it's preferred food and kibble to tame it

yes because apex predators has resistance to the fear roar of the yutyrannus

Yes it does for some reason does even tho it's obviously one of the strongest apex predators in the game

probably not because the fear roar doesn't affect apex predators and the wyvern is probably one of them
