- Back to the Redwoods for one of the best tames The Thylacoleo. This is a must have mount that will never let you down in all situations. This is a tricky creature to catch as it clings to the trees waiting for an unsuspecting survivor.

I wish we could bring these guys into boss fights. But we can't but imagine all the damage they could potentially do.

I swear I have ptsd from my first thyla attack... yeah... was on a really good argy too but forgot it was on passive, I had just tamed a bear (cryo'd) and was on my way back to base, Ieven ran out of ammo. All I had was a purple level pickaxe... luckily I got loose and was able to remount and fly away with a whopping 20 hp left. It was only lvl 16. I guess I got too close to a tree. But, lesson 1 of Ark. If it scares you, tame it. I suffer from anxiety and have a really progressive therapist who thinks videogames can be a great tool for mental health exercises. Spinos Terrify me!! I got killed by em so many times that I got ticked off and made a trap just so I could start catching and taming em!! Got me 4 Spinos now!! I think it’s time go start getting me some Thylas

I had a raptor pack in the redwoods and everything seemed to be going well until I ran into thylas. The first one was no big deal, but then 2 more showed up and actually, I’m gonna avoid the redwoods till I have something bigger.
I’d rather take a pack of dire wolfs
Redwoods is no big deal to me, all I need to do is go to Ark extinction, then summon a tamed level 15000 Ice Titan, then upload my ice titan to The Island

Great guide and thank you for showing us how to trap and find them. I've been trying to find a high level one, but just find super low levels and I think I'll just tame any at this point because it's hard to find them. Just subbed too.
Some other creatures can cause them to jump off the trees before you even reach the thylacoleo so if you know your safe scan the ground too that's where I found my first 145 thyla on the island after hours of searching
I found and tamed my thyla after like 15 min of searching! I got extremely lucky
i searched every where but no one showed up 😥🙂

I just caught one of these at random in the desert area of the island I lucked out and had mutton on me and 50 thank arrows. Didn't know anything about it till this video
i was out doing multiple corpse runs cause of this lvl 44 thylo, after killing him there was a 108 just a few trees away. i figured out u can take an argy and grab them off the tree from above but u gotta be good without beign seen.

Take an Argy put a saddle then carry your parasaur with its echo-location you can spot them on treea

I’ve never made the mistake of going high in the redwoods. One microraptor tried to stun but my argy was too quick. I haven’t died to anything horrible and I’m pretty experienced.
1 more reason to get a power house dino spino/rex is that you can use it as a punching bag for the thyla while you tame it that's how i almost tamed an allo but I forgot to put my rex on passive....
To be honest they should make some sort of cross breeding you could do with certain dinos like the Thylocloe

Not going to lie I see the thylo as a cat+rat
Took me 4 and a half hours to tame one, but not because I couldn’t put one to sleep, but because I couldn’t find any
I'm a noob... First time it grabbed me out of the air... I actually thought it was a glitch.... flew back with my second flyer to get my first back and..... same thing happened.... Managed to get my flyers back but now I got a fear of the redwoods....
