What do ya do when the upper management will not purchase filters and the like, yet wonder why we have more than usual down time? Im constantly pulling pilot valves and blowing out the little screens because of drops in pilot pressure. It gets clogged with what appears to be paint chips. For some reason the inside of the hydraulic tank had been painted at one point.

Not upper management's fault,yours for not detailing and documententing it,change your problemsolving into figures they understand,downtime,wages,call outs,find machine manual service intervills,. Few if no hyd tanks will let debris into a system if correct micron filter installed and serviced. I'm sure u know this all but u need to document all for them

Hello Carl! I have seen an excavator Kawasaki pump failure (cavitation failure) because the breather on the pressuriesed hydraulic tank was broken.
