I'd recommend finding him via his Instagram or the Instagram of his hat shop. Since he is such a skilled hat shaper he tours around to different rodeos and stock shows for exhibitions and you may need to get in touch with him to know exactly where he'll be. The main shop is located in Ft. Worth, I think. You can find both his instagram and the shop in the description of this video. I hope you can work with him, he puts every bit of thought possible into each hat.
I got the lowest quality material and it was $175, I tipped him on top of it. The hat is fantastic and technically the service is free, but obviously you gotta tip for that. If you're looking for a better material you can get a hat from $350-$1000+ but for a first hat I love mine. Had it just over a year and it's time to get him to shape it again. The second shaping should only take 5-10 min since it's just getting it back to how he did it originally.
I believe you should always buy from someone who is local , works for themselves, has a passion for what they do , they care about their customers so i always care for them . Uts not just buying thrn its an experience that you will enjoy and si will they .

I like that Raul hat etiquette. Growing up in church in the south, you'd never catch a man with a hat on inside the church and you certainly take your hat off when you're praying. amen

And I do tend to think it's disrespectful when people do wear a hat inside church, but I do tell myself it's more likely ignorance than malice. God never told us that we were supposed to take our hats off inside church. That's a man made rule. God would rather you have a relationship with him than taking your hat off inside of a man made structure. It is funny the things that stick with you over the course of your life.
