Sorry! But I have to be honest... also as new this is a very very bad car.
it is so easy to rotate around itself also when you know it, it's not fast to drive.
First it not want to turn. ..and suddenly it over turn.
I highly recommend the Kyosho Beetle or Beach buggy. .. them are a bit slower than this Frog but them you control so much better and it make them very fun to drive.
I just want to be honest so nobody buy this junk.
And look at how it is made
a plastic frame. ..and I remember the odd batteri pack... with one cell on top of the other.
Kyosho cars from this time 1980s have a aluminium frame and everything with them are so much easier to fix If an accident happens.
This Tamiya Frog look like a well made car... but it's just too hard to drive to be fun.
And good luck to change caster angle...you probably need more to make it more easy to drive.😊
    But good luck😊

I assume you mean the original 1982 Kyosho Scorpion vs. 1983 Tamiya Frog. It's a fair comparison. For ~$60 in today's dollars, you do get more aluminum parts with the Scorpion.
I drove the Subaru Brat (same chassis as The Frog) on a track in this video.

It didn't drive much worse than any vintage RWD buggies. Sometimes, its the tires/damper setup for the surface/condition. Other times, it's the suspension geometry or weight distribution. Overall I wouldn't be surprised the Kyosho is better out of the box than The Frog.
Realistically, no one should be buying Tamiya and Kyosho re-release kits for their performance. I collect them for nostalgia and I treat them as toys. If you want top racing performance, you will have to turn to the modern buggies from Team Associated, TLR, Schumacher, Yokomo or XRay.
I am building the Tamiya DT-03 Neo Fighter next. You might enjoy that series.
      Thanks for watching!

@@RCsRCCars Thanks! That's exactly what it was called "Scorpio" ... Nice video.😊👍
And here you see what I meant, difficult to control in curves unlike the Kyosho cars ... if you look at the weight distribution, Tamiya looks better, but it was not.
I agree that there are much better cars today .... But if you buy one of these to use and have fun, I recommend Kyosho ... although I would like to have a Tamiya Lancia 037 that I then never bought because Frog that older brother bought was too boring on all types of surfaces ... even on snow .. "Frog" was a disappointment. .. I already had a Kyosho Beetle (Same chassis as Scorpio) Tamiya looked like a winner but was hopeless to drive fast other than straight ahead.

Disagree the Frog was ahead of its time and is a Tamiya classic. The chassis was a big success and was used on other Tamiya classics such as the Monster Beetle and Blackfoot. The Frog has a phenomenal turning circle and is virtually impossible to roll! Great RC!
