Looks like your helper is sleeping on the job!
lol.. They know when I'm about to turn on the camera. It's kinda relaxing building with my fur babies around.
A frog is definitely on my want list.
It's an awesome build. Very different from all the other builds I've done.
Relaxing video.
My buddy that sold me the kit said lol tire is a must!
Very true..
Awesome Job. I like the way it came out.
Thank you. It was a fun build.
My first rc was the Galaxy had to build it piece by piece 😊
Pretty nice paintjob
Thank you. I really need to get out and run this beast.
Wow, awesome video! Very nicely done! I think this will help a lot of people.
Thank you. Hoping to shorten the times down in future videos. These builds are time consuming lol.
G’day mate, nice build, love the paint job. Why not change the deans plug to the XT-60 and use the adapter that you have? Just an idea. I’m a new viewer and now subscriber, I think the build went great. 🤓
99% of my batteries are xt60 and ec5. Being that I hardly run these it's easier to just have the adapter for switching out. It would be different if was my daily driver. Welcome to NWI RC..
🤓🎅
Been a long time since I was in the RC world. What was the popular Nikko rc’s that competed with the grasshopper?
Sorry I'm really not sure. I've owned some Nikki rcs as a kid but I can't help with this question. Thanks
Sweet 😊
Thanks.
Nice video! I enjoy the orv chassis builds immensely as well! That second servo mount brace is in step one, but easy to miss as they put the part into the pic after u flip it. I missed it as well on my monster beetle haha.good job!
Thank you sir.. I built 9 kits before I started to create a video on this and I can't believe I missed this step lol.. I'll get better in time. Thanks
Did you ever do the test video? I couldn’t find it on your channel
Not yet but hopefully soon. It was definitely one of my favorite builds though.
I just got a frog kit for my grandson do you guys suggest using the stock motor are upgrading it like hear from you all what do you suggest for servos and stuff??
The stock motor will do fine if he's new to this hobby. You can get a cheap servo. Just make sure it's a digital servo and not a analog if you're using a modern transmitter. I use FlySky rx/tx and works great. The skys the limit if you decide you want to upgrade from stock.
K thanks
It seems that Tamiya have 'cheapened' the rere Frog in areas like the drive shafts that were originally like a hex and socket not a dog bone.
And my recollection was that it was fully ballraced too...I know cause I ripped the bearings out to put in my Boomerang. 🇦🇺
I agree with you 100% but putting this thing together and running it brings me back to those days.
Let us see it drive...and what upgrades do you recomend?
This build is still sitting on my shelf and need to spin these wheels soon.. I'll get a video out on it soon. So far it's bone stock with no mods.
@@nwirc
I bought The Hornet as a start.
I will build my own dirt track and some more Tamiya rc cars :)
@@TheOttomann64 You will enjoy the Hornet build. I built one a couple of months ago.
A perfect upgrade for this car is a 2s lipo, (the higher the mAh rating the longer it takes to drain), a 60-80amp ESC, a 21t brushed motor, (cheap combos available on eBay) and all bearings
What other kits have you worked on that have better part organization? I actually don't mind hunting around, but my only experience is with 3dsets printed RC cars, and I just started my build of the Frog as my first commercial kit build this weekend, so I'm curious what else is out there in a similar vein. I'm really only interested in similar kit cars where you do most of the build yourself, but it's a little overwhelming to figure out what is even worth considering between all the name brands and cheap knock off kits available online.
There's all kinds of Kyosho and Tamiya kits on the market. How's that Frog coming along. I'm very interested!
@@nwirc Thank you! It was a success, I have a small park with a wooded area and dirt path loop with some hills that the local kids bike on in my neighborhood. My kiddo and I have taken the Frog out almost every day since I completed it and we've had a blast. My kid is 6 but has been _really_ into cars basically since birth, so between that and lots of practice playing games like Forza, it has been an easy progression into controlling an RC car and getting the hang of some tricky driving. Already have a few more kits on order for summer projects 😁
Where’s you get the Lincoln grease gun for the grease tubes? With my rheumatoid arthritis it’s hard for me to squeeze the tubes sometimes.
You can get that complete set here. It's a pain to get primed but once you get the grease to come out all is good www.ebay.com/itm/394273272482?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=KP7PbrNmSsi&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=rl7D6-TlR32&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Get onto the Gerson miracle for the arthritis followed by a ketogenic diet. It fixed me
Chassis is pronounced as shassi.
Learn something new everyday.. Thanks
That servo is GARBAGE, you should try a decent brand name servo.
I know it's a junk servo but it worked for the build. It will be upgraded in the near future.
