I don't know about England, but here in the Colonies, American Companies were sprouting up like Mushrooms, pouring out Hop-Ups for the early high performance RC Buggies! 😎 My Frog had the entire MRP Catalogue in her, and IMEX Tyres. She was a Destroyer on Track!! 🏆 She KEPT Winning, till technology caught up. Then I got the RC10 - and flat out DOMINATED! I DON'T Win anything... But I will do anything it takes to Win THIS!!! 😁 My second ever RC Car! If I have the Honour of Winning, I shall like to recreate my 1984 Version. White Top, a Bright Metallic Green on Bottom, Stickers all done up just like Box Art. I literally Lost EVERYTHING, about 7 years ago... I had a Fox growing up as a kid, A friend had the Frog. We raced all the time.... Fun times back then being 12 years old. Wish luck on who ever wins, I know i won't win, as i never really win much anymore in my old days (mid 40's)..... But she would look good with Green Body, to make it look like a Frog. After a 3.5 year lay off from RC tinkering in my shed since the birth of my daughter I’ve finally found some time to clear things up and resurrect some old projects. I found your channel about a week and a half ago and I’ve got the bug again! I like the insights into history of the cars and ideas and tips you come up with. I’d absolutely love to win the car to add to my Blitzer Beetle and current project which is a Supershot referb. Keep up the great vids!!! Marcus
Love the Frog, still remember the 1st time I saw one back in the day in the display case at the Hobby Haven @ Indian Springs shopping mall in Kansas City, KS (1984). The mall has since be leveled, but Hobby Haven still exists across town 😊
Having decided I'm finally going to pull the trigger on a classic Tami RC car to play with at a mere 54 years old I've watched a number of your vids and thoroughly enjoy them and have decided I'm going to skip over the Grasshopper and Hornet (maybe later just for the sake of having those classics) and go to the Frog, being a pretty experienced modeller and a 'handy with a tool kit' sort they look a little too simple but the Frog looks like more of a fun build without going overboard 🐸🙂
The Frog was before my time, we were born the same year.. I was then dreaming about the bear hawk and others..but it think it looks cool, the pink color is not my fav..but! Anyways: great job with the channel, well done! I like to watch your vids!
This video made me nostalgic. My first car was the then just released 1st ORV, the Brat. My 3rd and 5th cars were also ORVs, a Super Blackfoot and a King Blackfoot.
My wife would love to have one of these. She has said if she started playing with an rc she wants a frog. Cause she loves frogs. I have the frog tattooed on my arm along with the falcon. So yea if I won this I'd give it to her
I have a lot of Tamiya kits I built my first build was a BMW touring car. I've built many TT-01s,TT-02s. CC-01s and assorted others. never a Frog happy building.
Thanks for a great video, love the frog. My first Tamiya RC back in 1988 Just got back into RC this year. Unfortunately mine is no longer OG. Tried dying the chassis from grey to black and warped. 😢 Love the Vanquish videos also. Still trying to get shock tower parts for mine so it can stand on its own four wheels. It will probably spend the rest of it life as a shelf queen as she's a little fragile.

It’s clear by the way the Frog chassis was designed that Tamiya took a completely different approach with their latter chassis’s, that makes it a very interesting collection piece.
Never had a frog, raced against them in many forms back in the day as they were very popular (frogs/brat/etc).....good luck to all, but good luck to me! Lol
Yeah I remember it well I had two one stock and one with a torque motor that I modified and raced, the tracks I ran at did not allow the aerials dangerous for the marshals and something about a hazard to other racers if it rolled over as it did not roll on it's roof, if you replaced them with plastic ones they were OK with it then.
The first time I saw the Frog was in an episode of Punky Brewster in 1986-ish where she built a frog that she won in a competition (because the provider thought she was a boy because of her name) and then disguised herself as a boy so that the other boys would let her drive with them.
