"you have to learn blocking at the last second" me who played almost exclusivly insta block lance in sunbreak and mhgu: *Do Not Cite the Deep Magic to Me Witch, i was there when it was written*
Frankly, I'm not overly concerned about the Hunting Horn thing, for the simple reason that calling in your Seikret, swapping weapons, dismounting, playing all your songs, calling the Seikret, swapping weapons, dismounting and continuing the fight sounds way too tedious to be a viable strategy. Because the duration of songs is like what, a minute or two? I could see some use in having it as a pre-buffing tool before you engage the monster, but I don't see you achieving super high buff uptime to the point where it's gonna beat all other secondary options, simply because re-buffing would be such a hassle if you're not actually going to be fighting with HH. You're gonna be much better off just calling in an NPC buddy that fights with Hunting Horn and leaving all the buffing to them for the most part, unless whatever they come equipped with has truly atrocious song options. I think there's much higher odds of the second weapon being reserved for quick status application. Like, you run in, put a monster to sleep with LBG and then swap to GS for the wake-up hit and the ensuing fight. Getting a whole lot of status in used to be pretty impractical with most melee weapons, since the best status options usually didn't have great damage, with maybe the exception of some blast weapons. Having the flexibility of being able to use a weapon that is optimized for status while also retaining access to your best in slot damage option is probably a bigger deal overall.
I agree. On top of that, a dedicated status-inflicting weapon can probably have status boosting decos on itself and, using it for such a short time, it won't matter if other skills are useless with it. According to what we can speculate, probably the best use of the second slot (it will only work for Sleep though, no way you could go back to your main weapon in time with Paralysis). In the same vein, some late-game monsters may have Alatreon-like mechanics with elemental DPS checks where we may want to swap to a less build-optimal but element-focused weapon.
build-wise, if decos carry over.. as they should. then you can put the weapon-specific skills in on the weapon slots. I get that you can't fully min-max in that way, but honestly, I'm not against that either, I want to be able to make builds that aren't "metta" and still make it work for both weapons. Tho I was also at Gamescom and waited in a 4,5-hour queue to get 30 minutes of play time.. and I must add, I love how the game feels. I can't wait for it to come out. instant preorder when i get the chance.
I’m most excited about how in depth the world is. Like how you said, this is the monsters’ world and we just happen to be living in it. Can’t wait to watch the monsters go about their daily life for countless hours instead of hunting them
I believe the double weapon won't be an issue I do believe further as you progress the the decorations will make it more complicated to have a method double build.
Very thorough work, Arc👌! Glad to hear your takes on Wilds gameplay! Thanks for elaborating on some of the mechanics🙏! "They made a monster out of police tazer" got me good 🤣❤
I dont see the HH buff as an issue. Most people play for fun and will use the weapons they like. If anything itll make hunts "easier" if someone decides to use it.
The mobility added to all weapons in terms of atk speed and fluidity . More adjustments to attacks mid swing. Being able to take the lighter design of female armors for male characters =D. Thanks for the vid arc.
@voltaicburst4279 I'm not sure, and I have to disagree. As an avid fashion hunter, female sets have many more unique parts that alpha and beta sets. Technically we go from 4 sets to 2. But also, keep in mind that each character can only access 2 sets regardless, so the ones with most changes are my preference.
@@ArcVTuber Hopefully they stay AND we get access to both genders armour so it's an ACTUAL upgrade and not just some design change that could be good or terrible depending on how well female armour mixes in to male sets and vice versa. Because i'm not really seeing many big improvements, i thought they would be re-introducing underwater combat somehow but nope, nothing huge. After my hype for Dragons Dogma 2 being let down immensely i don't trust capcom blindly anymore but we'll see.
I’m happy to hear it’s overall looking solid so far even with some performance issues, hopefully some of the next hands on gameplay we shall receive will have more promising performance, in the mean time, I’m gunna be painfully waiting to try out wilds horn in depth! It looks very fluid and smooth to perform with
From what I've seen, the insect glaive have a "different" move set in focus mode. Not for the hunter, but the kinsect changes behavior if you're comboing in focus mode. It mimics the hunter's attack and collect buffs.
The power clash really surprised me because I didnt want to watch all the new Material from gamescom but I love how Arc does it. Now I have to upgrade my pc setup because I need to see the new Waifu in 4k! Lets see how powerful the 2 weapon system will be but for the people who play just for fun this will be awesome. After all I love the IG but for the last 2 years I only play gunlance and also really like it.
Arc, you're right to be surprised that they would show an early demo version with this level of quality. Bad framerate? Crashes? Incomplete content? That's the quality we have come to expect out of the largest studios. At launch.
While there are alot of studios that push out games too early, monster hunter is very solid when it comes to it's entries. I have faith in them. This demo build was just bare bones though.
Ever since I heard a rumor about the swimming mechanic, I am very curious because I've only played rise sunbreak. I wonder what water combat is like. And I also wonder if certain monsters can drown lol
Maybe this will make them push the hunting horn damage to be more in line with other weapons? I dunno. I don't play it but a friend does and it's so much more than just buffs
focus mode also does allow weapons to aim at any directions. So something like CB's SAED you can just guard point and turn it 180 degrees. So there is more emphasis on using focus mode and it's not really just optional when it gives such big advantage over not aiming your moves. Cerain weapons will benefit alot from this no doubt. Question is, is it even a problem? Probably not, but it does raise some concern.
People were worried about how it would work in regards to wounds. So I wanted to set their mind at ease a bit. It's a 50/50 at the end of the day. Just like the clutch claw and the wirebugs. They should be used imo.
You are wrong on focus mode. There are 2 more differences than you claimed. 1: Weapons can turn in any direction in combos they can't outside of focus mode. Like a 180 degree TCS. 2: Some weapons, like Insect Glaive, can remain stationary while doing a combo in focus mode while it moves you forward if you would do the combo outside of focus mode. Therefore, it could simply be an advantage to just gold down focus mode the entire time on many weapons. Which sounds really annoying. I know you don't care much about efficiency, but I don't think it's good to make players feel like they are doing worse because they don't wanna hold down a button the entire time while comboing. Because from what I see, there isn't any disadvantage to just holding it down, but in return you get precision, turn radius and better positioning if the combo would've usually moved you. Anyways, Gemma exists, 10/10 game.
They did confirm (I think on one of the dev streams) that you’ll be able to change Focus Mode to a toggle instead of holding a button in the settings. So you won’t have to hold the button constantly if that’s how you end up playing.
Don't really care if I don’t get a constant 60 fps on my Xbox series X. I played over 1100 hours on rise sunbreak on the Nintendo switch, and I had a great time
If it end up runnkng like world on pc when it came out, i can have a nice 50 fps. If it runs like world after iceborne, then it would be 20 - 40 fps, which is still doable. Anything more and ill have to wait till im able to upgrade.
ok i've only played Now and Rise but i don't remember the hunter horn buffs lasting that long in rise, do they last long enough in other games to make it worth making a strategy utilizing it and a sub weapon?
The buffs don’t last very long without using horn maestro. Whatever bonus you would gain from the horn is unlikely to be worth the maintenance time and effort involved in swapping back and forth, as well as the opportunity cost of not using a different secondary weapon. This is not something I have any concerns over
I play valor lance on mhgu, im using the insta block thing on sunbreak insta block? the valor guard point stay like 0.5 seconde on lol i think im ready for *Guarding* on wild then
3:27 is that a fucking plague doctor beak hunting horn? That can't be a mod. I may actually buy on day 1. Not just for that but that the weapon designs seem to be a step up from world
