Korean craftmanship is awesome, I was in South Korea for three different time periods for a year each time, and I was always amazed at the skill level of these craftsmen. The Korean people and culture was amazing, I met some awesome people while I was there.
My eyes were riveted to every minute of this video! So good to see such craftsmanship finding new ways to thrive. Hope those shows cost a thousand bucks!

It’s PU glue. I can certainly assure every process he did was legit and as for your question PU adhesive doesn’t stick well when wet, for it to work efficient, moisture has to be taken out by heating for few seconds to obtain even and stronger bond between the sole and the upper part of the shoe. I have seen these process day and night cause all my childhood I have wandered in my dad’s shoe manufacturing workplace and always got fascinated about how and each process add meaning in making each pair of shoe.
I think such conversion is much expensive than the original sneakers ! But the outcome become something awesome, extraordinary and surprise ! Great work & Great Idea as well ....

He's stitching the sole not the welt. Which is way the stitch is a lock-stitch, which is why it looks cooler than a goodyear welting machine.
