    Dentists need to communicate better with clients in prevention. I've been told many times I needed to clean between my teeth better but was never advised how.

      Yeah, I was only instructed when asking for it. Their time is valuable. Also they have a screen with instructions in the waiting area. But flyers with info you can hang in your bathroom would be great. I just don't think they often have time for those things

      I went to the dentist around 3 or 4 months ago because I thought I had one cavity but to my surprise I had four cavities 😢
      Now I think I have a cavity again and I'm worried that if I go to my dentist, they'll find more cavities

    My dentist prescribed MI Paste for a small hole that had started on a back molar. It's a prescription toothpaste to rebuild enamel. It actually started reducing the hole, but after six months, I got nervous that it wasn't happening fast enough so I opted to have a small filling to preserve the tooth and prevent needing a crown in the future to save the tooth. But since it was able to start repairing the hole that developed, it obviously is a great toothpaste to prevent cavities from forming in the first place.

    Up until 2011 I had never ever been to a dentist. At the time I was almost 27 and only went when I kept having a tooth ache. The dentist said considering that I had never been before I only had 3 or so small cavities and gum disease. The other goal was to straighten my teeth. Flash forward to last year after moving and wanting a 2nd opinion if a root canal was needed for a cavity in my front teeth. I found the right dentist for me. I now brush twice a day but I'm not always good at flossing. No new cavities as of today's cleaning at the office.

    I’m so annoyed with myself! I have my first cavity! I am 37 years old and I am annoyed this is happening. I have an appointment tomorrow to get that cavity filled. Apparently they told me it was a very small cavity but same time I’m so annoyed lol. From what I understand, I had pretty good dental treatment when I was a very young kid… I don’t know how much that actually applies to nowadays. But I always knew that you had to brush your teeth twice a day… I’ve been pretty bad that I always brush in the morning though, when I wake up! … Now that I have this first cavity, I’m trying to figure out how to prevent even more cavities coming along. I know everybody’s mouth is much different so advice for me. Might not be the same advice for anybody else. But this is good information to know because there’s always room for improvement, right?I’m wondering if my electric toothbrush though needs replacement or I just need to do a better job…

    Is it true that with xylitol, you need like 6-10 grams of it to be effective, and also spaced out over the day? like it's actually quite a lot of gum/mints to get that amount of xylitol. Unfortunately here in Australia, it's just not really available anyway. But then there's pure raw xylitol! which is far cheaper, so, what do you think of people who just gargle that after every meal? (for people who really want to take their dental health that far). A proper dedicated video on xylitol that covers the specifics would be super interesting.

    Why not rinse with mouth wash? So always water after brushing?/ Flossing

    • @rebekahtaylor8435
      @rebekahtaylor8435 2 месяца назад

      Personally I don't use mouthwash, just water to rinse. Also, for brushing I thought it was supposed to be for 1 minute. I remember the little hour glass that I got from the Dentist as a kid to help me time. I was pretty sure it was 1 minute, but maybe I'm wrong.

    I was with you until you said: "Fluoride Treatments". When are you dentists going to stop promoting this unnecessary poison?

    • @TeethTalk
      @TeethTalk  5 месяцев назад +4

      fluoride is proven to aid in the prevention of tooth decay. anything can be poison/toxic at a certain dose -- the dose makes the poison. for instance, if there's too much oxygen in the air, then it would be toxic and we couldn't breathe. hope this helps!
