Hi Diana! Glad I could help. This is such a common issue and the cause of most users problems. Once most people see where the thread has to go, the dots connect. Happy Serging!!

I have literally been having loopy threads since I bought this almost a month ago. Day in and day out I've been troubleshooting. Nobody has addressed this except for you. I have read blogs, books, adjusted tension and threaded over and over again. I wanted to give up. You are such a life saver for this video. Thank you so so very much!! I would have continued to be stuck if it weren't for you. THANK YOU!!!!!!❤

THANK YOU!! So simple but so important! Can't believe it wasn't explained (or not clearly) in manual. Life changing! ;-)

Hi Sarah! Yes, it's very simple once you know what to look for. I kept reading about the same issue, so that's why I made this video. Glad it helped! Happy Serging!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve been working with my serger for HOURS trying to figure out tension settings and going through my manual, thinking that I was an idiot for just not getting it! This is the first thing I’ve seen that’s actually mentioned WHERE you’re supposed to thread through the tension discs (and that includes my manual!)! 🙏🏻

I wanted to thank you for this. I feel like THIS video needs to be given to EVERY person who purchases a Serger to save them from trying to throw themselves out of a window along with their machine... I battled for hours upon hours until someone told me to look this video up. INSTANTLY by following all of your instructions, my THREE new Sergers work exactly the way the manual says they should. I am sharing your video in all of my sewing groups in hopes they will help others... so they don't have to endure this pain I went through last night LOL

Hi Lisa! I'm so humbled that someone shared my video with others. I'm so glad it helped. Hate to hear about others struggling to get their machines to work because learning a serger is such a game changer. Happy Sewing!!

After hours and hours and months of trying and then putting the serger away until I had the patience to try again, I found your series on threading the machine and followed it exactly. Still...thread tension was erratic at best and turning the dials made no difference. I even heard and felt the threads "pop" into place between the right half of the disc and the dial. (which I assumed WAS the tensioner!!!) I knew I needed to adjust tension, and since your threading videos were so helpful(NEVER would have thought to tie new onto old color-GENIUS!!) I hoped you had one on tension as well, and am so glad to find it...THANK YOU for zooming and explaining this thoroughly and accurately... it is AMAZING to have adjustable and even stitches!!!!!!!!
P.S. You saved me not only the agony of my confusion, but hundreds of dollars to have an expert check out my machine or take it in. Please consider adding a place for "tips" or "donations" on your web page...you have certainly earned it from me!!!!
    Thanks again!!

Thank you very much. It's exactly my problem. I tried working with the left needle for 4 hours yesterday. Just found that the thread is out of place. Without watching your video, I might've contact Singer to fix it.

Thank you so much for such a helpful video. I have watched a dozen videos on this subject and yours was the only one that focused on the particular area between the tension discs where the thread needs to be inserted. As soon as I properly re-thread my machine, my stitches looked perfect.

I was having a "bad serger day" yesterday. Nothing I did was making the stitches better, I was getting really frustrated!!! I started looking for help on You Tube and I found you!!!! I am so happy I did. You have made a big difference in relearning my machine. I wished it had come with such good instructions. You are a great tutor!! I watched #2, yesterday & 1-5 today... watching step by step.

This is the video I’ve been looking for! This would have saved me hours of frustration. Singer needs to add this to their instructional video. I bet it would save them from processing 1,000’s of returned machines. The helpline told me to return mine.....

    Thank you so much! ❤️
I wasn't aware that the thread had to go between the two discs and that they could be opened up by pushing the silver pieces to the side in the tension dial. I would always lay it between the silver pieces and wonder why it still wouldn't work. A lot of videos don't explain that, so I am happy I can finally use my serger properly.
