This is my ever best class on Overlocker. I've learned so much in few minutes. Singer should pay you for making this simple tutorial. They can't explain it so clearly and so concisely themselves. Thank you. You're the best.

Agree with you. What I could be do without Mr.Jamie Kemp videos. I watched lots of videos how to handle this machine , and only Mr. Kemp explains so good for my understanding. Thank you soooooo much.

I am a grateful great grandmother- wanting to stitch all the seams on a little dress. Your video is excellent-such clear photos and directions. I have the booklet-but your directions are much more clear!!. My eyes are tired now-so I will stop after a fairly successful 4 inches of what looks reasonable!!!

My Singer overlocker has sat in its box for 3 years since I abandoned trying to use it following the written instructions.I was so disappointed as I had wanted one for years. This week I found your tutorial and will not look back, it is brilliant and I now have it working and. have made my first blouse with beautiful tidy seams. Thank you.

So pleased this video is here, thank you for doing it.
I bought my over locker from Lidl about 2 years ago and ever since then I've studiously avoided going anywhere near it because I didn't have a clue where to start.
Being in desperate need of an over locker for a project I'm working on at the moment, I headed onto You Tube.
Now I can't wait to unbox it and give it a go. Your videos are brilliant- thank you for taking the time to do them.

This is definitely the best video I’ve seen for this serger! Very concise. I bought my serger several months ago and waited to take some classes last month. I learned some things about serging but nothing about threading (we used a serger that had an air threader). You made it simple. It’s not at all scary like people say. Thank you so very much!

Brilliant tutorials - thank you soooo much. I bought my overlocker machine nearly a year ago but not used it much and had such trouble trying to understand the manual with it's not very clear pictures/instructions!! I need to shorten the dress I'm wearing to my son's wedding which has a rolled hem and want to do the same so will be practising using your fantastically clear and easy to understand tutorials before I attempt the real thing! I do a lot of sewing (mainly crafts/patchwork/bags etc) but have never used an overlocker before and thought it would be useful tool to add to my sewing room. Thanks again Jamie.

Many, many, many thanks for uploading this excellent, very simple and easy to following tutorial. I desperately wanted to buy a Serger Machine for a long time, but have been reluctant to do so as I was in awe of threading and maintaining the machine - even though I have been professional taught how to do so. Having watched your other video showing the basics and threading, of the Singer 14H754 Overlocker, I became confident that I could now buy this mach and maintain it with ease. I bought a Serger 14SH754 and followed your instructions on how to thread it. The first time I did it something went wrong. I patiently and timely followed your instructions step by step and BINGO my machine works perfectly. I can't thank you enough.

I didn't realise some seams were done purely by changing the tension and/or needle. I've only had my overlocker for a week, and assumed until I saw this, that tension had to be just right for the fabric (like a sewing machine) rather than for the stitch required. Many thanks!

Thank you for your video. I've been learning about flatlock seams because I want to use it to hem my first (newbie) Tshirt-Tunic. My problem is couldn't find any instruction about which thread makes the ladder. I want the ladder on the right side of the material. Your video has been very helpful because your instructions were clear, and you used coloured thread which meant I could identify the ladder is made by the blue thread, which is the needle thread. Yipee! Thank you, thank you.

Brilliant Jamie....I got a Silvercrest 2 years ago, tried my utmost to follow the book.....stitches were loose/ first the front then the back then all over the place etc......ended up putting it back in the box. I was asked to make Doggie raincoats for a StrayHaven rescue centre here in Paphos, Cyprus this winter so got the dreaded machine back out of the box and searched the net for problems, came across your videos and Halehlulia ! So if you and your family ever come to Cyprus, look us up......I owe you a pint and probably a medal 😂

I am still learning the machine, and what stitches to use. You explain everything perfectly, and I really appreciate that. I am hoping you do more video's on different types of fabrics, and what stitches look best with them. Thank you again for an excellent video...I look forward to many more from you!

I have only purchased cotton thread for home sewing projects. They don't seem very strong. I'm afraid to venture and try other threads. Hi, Jamie, I've just brought the Lidl Overlocker/Serger (Singer S010L). I didn't realise this was capable of 2 thread sewing assuming this is the same as your model? Manufacturers charge a lot more for this feature and did not know the difference from a 3/4 thread overlocker. I've watched both tutorials and now feel willing to tackle the world of overlockers!😂

Excellent video Jamie! I was particularly interested to learn about your procedure for sewing with only 2 threads. Going a step further - can the Singer 14SH754 be used with just one thread to achieve a single straight sewing line without any overlock ? For example when shortening the legs of jeans? After shortening and folding over the bottom edge in on itself twice (as per original), I then require just a straight stitch to secure the fold in place to finish.

Great tutorial video. I make a lot of recycled dresses "Fresh from the Garden" and need different width seams. I jumped to my machine which is a Singer Ultralock, and some of your machines features are not on mine. It looks so easy when you change the stitch width from 4.5 to 3.5 to make it a finer seam, not so easy on my machine as the screw was never opened and I need a different screw driver for that. Anyway looking forward to more tutorials from you, like how to get rid of all the dust while using the machine.
