Hey lady in this video, I LOVE YOU ! I had a panic attack upon opening my serger and not being able to create a link after confusing my brain trying to troubleshoot what was wrong. The lower looper kept undoing because it wasn't threaded properly or over the arm of the upper thread. Thank you so much for this very clear very descriptive tutorial. Life saver !
Omg same! I was immediately SO intimidated when I opened mine so I avoided learning it for months. I could use a regular sewing machine blindfolded but sergers have a whole lot going on. This video ~actually~ made me feel like I could tackle it. So Singer sewing tutorial lady I ALSO LOVE YOU
I have had my serger for many years, and don't use it, but I was asked to hem 20 white tablecloths by a friend, and figured this would be the quickest way. My sister 4 years ago was home and helped me change the white thread in the machine to black so I could hem denim aprons for Habitat for Humanity. She lives 1200 miles away, and so I decided to use the knot the threads and pull through the ports so I didn't have to thread it. I screwed it up, and went looking for a video that would show me how to do this, I've viewed many over the years and could not find one with as clear an explanation as you just presented. I'm going to thread this again and get ready to hem those 20 tablecloths, and I think I'm much calmer than 1/2 an hour ago. Thank you so very, very much. I'm looking forward to being able to use my serger from now on. Fingers crossed.
Best video ever! The bottom Looper came out of the hole you're supposed to thread it through and I'm not getting any stitches. Tomorrow when I can think straight I'm going to back up and follow your directions to the T! You are fantastic
Thank you so much for this tutorial. my stitches were not right and already I was thinking of looking for someone to fix it. watched your tutorial and got it right the first time
Hey, Angela. I found this really good video on RUclips this morning. It’s under the Singer Co. RUclips channel. This video shows every detail. I watched it on my big screen tv. If you want to get together, maybe tomorrow or Friday to thread your machine, let me know. I’m having eye surgery next week.
While I’m a newbie to this serger and the information was great, I also watch the Sewing Master on this same serger and I’ve found that video giving great detail information with camera angle viewing at its best.❣️
Thank you for a great tutorial!!! I read from a cutomer review...go to youtube to learn how to thread the machine. Mine was threaded when I bought it, sewed for a bit, then thread tore. Noticed it was not threaded correctly. I tried to look at sewing illustration and the sewing book to re-thread, but pictures NOT clear, so I came here to learn. Thank you for such clear and precise instructions.
Double check that you have threaded in the correct order and make sure your tensions are all of the correct settings for the stitch you are using. You may also need to change that needle--it could have gotten a burr or may be just a little bent. If none of these tips help, please give our Customer Care team a call at 1-800-474-6437 or email them here: www.singer.com/email-us/. They should be able to help you with some troubleshooting. Thank you!
In 4 lock the last step to improve sewing was a lower knife adjustment by tightening the knob .it went by quickly please show elaborately how knife blades play a role in sewing adjustments.thanks.that was a good demo
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve got everything in place correctly but I am still having problems with my right needle. The thread keeps coming out of the needle. It’ll sew very well for a good 5-10 inches, then the thread comes out of the needle and will not sew anymore. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? Please help! Thank you!
Hi...Make sure the thread hasn't come out of the tension. Don't just try to rethread the needle...start from the beginning and make sure the presser foot is up when you rethread that thread path. Hope that helps!

Ok the first time I set it up with this video was great. Now Im trying to rethread with a different color. Now all of a sudden my machine won't grab the material thru and all the loops are a mess. Any one know where to get help?. I have rethreat now three times and the material will not feed. The feed dogs appear to be up!!!!
My machine is missing the 4 upper thread guides. (The ones before you put the thread into the tension discs.) Does anybody know where to buy replacements??? I tried google but I can't seem to find the right thing.

I made this same mistake over and over again. Now that I got it right, it is obvious that there is this "holder", even more in my older model.
Really a life saver

The underneath the material is so loose .how Do I tighten it so it is neat
Loose threads under your fabric usually indicates that your upper tension is too loose (or it is threaded incorrectly). When in doubt, rethread!
Why is it my number 3 tread is always cut?
good
My machine is missing the 4 upper thread guides. (The ones before you put the thread into the tension discs.)
