Thank you. Last week my serger jumped and the thread tangled and broke while I was sewing. I panicked as the machine was threaded when I bought it and I had never threaded it myself. this video was superb! First time. Threaded correctly. Appreciated.
PERFECTLY you explained how to do the lower looper !!! It was over whelming & seemed so complicated not knowing. No more worries if I need to re-thread. Thanks SO much!
I was COVERED in thread...on the verge of crying!!..then I remembered that I could watch a video....OOMG!!!...you saved the day with this video!! no really darling....up till now I prayed to the sewing machine God, crossed my fingers and hoped it would work!...now I see its all science...with help from generous people like you here on RUclips...thank you!!!!
My Singer HD serger is coming tomorrow and Im so excited about it! Been watching this vid over and over so that I can familiarize with its system before I can do the threading by myself! Im just a beginner and had just finished my first dress project 3 days ago and that I realize I really need to have a serger! Got my first sewing machine (Singer Denim) a month ago and been learning sewing by myself thru different sewing vloggers @RUclips! Thanks to them! The more I sew with my singer machine the more I urge in getting a Singer Quantum LOL! In my country it's only Singer which is available and there's no digital unit yet! We're so backward or maybe there's a few people who has interest in sewing! LOL In my short time experience in sewing, any project is not complete without a serger. Thank you for this video, it's very helpful! I'll watch again until i get my new serger!
This video was so helpful for threading my serger. I have never used a serger before and was able to thread it CORRECTLY after watching this, pausing it at the different steps and going one thread at a time. Having the different color threads corresponding to the different locations was also very helpful. there is so much going on with the different threads that this made it easier to understand.
Borrowing this serger from my mother-in-law so I can decide if this is a good buy. She told me to practice threading it , I thought it'd be a snap at first but got stuck on the that lower looper! I had no clue about the notch I had to thread, and this even showed me why the order is this way, which helped me fix the first one when it came loose. Thank you for posting!
I had completely forgotten this, til someone commented & it came up in my feed. Been using a server for YEARS... this is great stuff!!!! That info on the bottom lower looper ALONE will change your life! Tricky stuff... If you don't know the "trick". AWESOME
This was So helpful for me. I just bought this serger and I'm still new to sewing so, I truly appreciate the simplicity behind this video and how thorough you were in your descriptions! Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant video on how to thread the serger/overlocker. Definitely loved the close up photography. Best video on RUclips without a doubt!!! ❤
I have had my serger for many years and it works perfectly every time. However, yesterday I went to change the thread color and completely forgot how to position the thread on the upper and lower looper needles. I must have re-thread it 15 times and was so frustrated! This video helped me so much and now my serger is working beautifully again. Thank you, thank you very much!
Your tutorial just helped me thread my new serger after the lower looper just got cut for some reason. I almost cried and didn't think I'd be able to thread it myself. Thanks a mil!!!
Marie Claire Victoria Mabutas Sordan I am happy to hear that Marie. Actually, this video is included on a DVD with some of the Singer sergers. For some reason it isn't included on all of them, so that is why I decided to post it here.
This video is a lifesaver. I come back to it over and over again every time I forget how to thread my serger... Which is every time I have to rethreaf it lol....
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I knew it could not be a complicated as the instructions from Singer for threading this machine. Now I don't fret when I must thread the Serger.. Your video is celestial sent..
This video saved me! You have no idea! I spent 3 hours trying to read and understand the crazy manual my serger came with. Finally decided to look on RUclips and i got it fixed in 5 min from this video... i wasted so much time... Thank you
Ok, already wrote a comment, but I have more to say. Thank you SO much! I have been messing with my serger for 2 days and could not for the life of me get it to stop jamming. Well, thanks to your video I went super slow and deliberate and double checked every thread was in the right spot. FINALLY after 2 days I go it working again. Saved me a senseless $60 + charge to take it to the shop! Ok, off to sew! WOOHOO!
Even this great video does not specify that the thread must pass to the LEFT of the tension discs. I could never get this serger to work correctly - until I took it to the shop. The repairman said I had threaded to the right of the tension disc. It should be threaded to the LEFT of the tension disc - I used a flashlight to see and confirm this. My serger works great now with threading to the LEFT of tension discs...hope this helps others avoid my frustrations.....
Yes, it is pretty sad the manufactures don't pay close attention to such details. Just like the put horizontally wound spools of thread on their vertical spool holders on a regular basis.
So happy that this video showed me exactly what I needed to know to thread my serger after the lower looper thread broke. I am no longer afraid that I don’t know what I’m doing!
Thank you thank you thank you! I could not figure why I could not thread this. But thanks to this video , I can finally thread my machines lower looper!
Marvellous tutorial. You even solved a problem I had with my Lewenstein 700de serger. You said make sure the lower looperthread tail lays over the upper looper otherwise the threads will tangle. Thank you so much, for my "own" tutorial failed to tell this.
Thank you so much for this video! I finally got my Singer Serger and I made it at 1st shot! The only thing that was difficult for me was threading the last needle which has the blue thread! I used a manual threader since I really got a poor eye sight however, it was still difficult even to insert the threader into the needle hole! Anyway, I made it! Too scary at first! LOL now I'm gonna try! Thank you again and I have saved this vid in my playlist bcoz I know I will still be needing it! God bless..
My upper looper thread was breaking, causing much frustration. Thankful for your easy to follow video. Now I don't have to throw the serger in the trash!
OMG this video pretty took the stress out of my life. I have had so much trouble threading my serger, and this Showed me in a snap and it took me no time at all. Thank you
Very nice tutorial! Great job...big help. There are a few things here ...like how to properly thread that LOWER LOOPER that will change your life!!!! Hahahaha. Thank you so much for this resource!!
Eeeh Kevin,,right on my serge as l speak but if l try to move the lower looper to be above the top looper, the lower looper's back where the slit is moves back more there by hiding the slit and became more difficult to slide the thread ,,😔, what's wrong with my loopers?
thank you! was very helpful and i was able to thread it successfully. before watching the video i spent hours trying to figure out how to make it work properly-_-
I would just like to thank you sooooo very much gor this video. I got it like that! I couldn't seem to catch what I was going wrong when it came to threading.
I recent pulled my Singer serger out of storage only to find to my horror that the threads had all been cleared out. Thank you! Very useful tutorial. I have another problem. Sometimes lower looper "grab" a thread from the B needle and sometimes it doesn't. It's very frustrating. Do you please have any advice?

Who thought it was a good idea to make the thing it has to slip into in the back and pretty unreachable. Trying to figure this all put as I've wanted a serger for a while and this is souring my should be enjoyment
Raise the pressure foot and hold the thread with one had before it goes into the tension disc. Lower the pressure foot and pull the thread from the back side of the needles to ensure it has tension on it. You may also find you have some debris between the disc in some cases. In this case you can use dental floss between the tension disc to clean out any thread lint that may have accumulated during usage. Also, make sure you pull the threads at least 12 inches to the back beyond the needles after threading before you start.

@@susanconniry9247 I haven't even seen this. Other than making sure it is turned all the way in to engage it I can't suggest anything.
