I never thought a model building video could be this graceful and creative! A great combination of modeling skill and animation/video production. The model looks superb by the way.
Another masterful build. Your advanced modeling skills brought the kit details to life. Awesome wood grain effect. Totally blown away by your micro surgery skills on the rigging. Bravo!!!! Bill.
I wouldn't mind building WW1 aircraft and battleships and sailing ships, but the rigging would've driven me insane! Excellent video as always for Tom Grigat! Sehr gut!!
Every time I see one of your videos I think, he wont beat this one, then....... your next one does. You have turned modelling into an artform, thank you for sharing.
+George Brown Thank you for your kind words 😊 I'm very pleased you like my kind of work. Currently I'm working on a bit larger stuff and will show it soon...
Tom, what a brilliant idea this stop-motion animation is - I've never seen a better demonstration of the how-to of assembling a fairly tricky kit. Inspirational! Bravo!
You're more than welcome! (I've subscribed to your channel, by the way). I also really like the short computer animated sequence of the pilot boarding the 'plane at the end - a very cute (and original) touch
I don't what l'm more impressed with the build or the video...even the music pulled it together. I'd be pleased to get a drip of the talent some people have in their hobby skills. Thanks...I'm inspired to improve.
As always your work is incredible. The time and care in the rigging alone is mind boggling. I wish I had the patience, steady hands, and skill to do it myself, but watching your videos will have to suffice. Amazing stuff Tom. As always, thanks for sharing!
E aqui você tem a noção de como era realmente a fabricação dos aviões da 1ª Guerra Mundial, aviões apenas de tela, madeira, tanque de combustível debaixo do assento 💺 do piloto, e cabos de aços, além do motor. E o trabalho minucioso do artista do vídeo é simplesmente sensacional!!!!
Just wow, all that work you made on the engine, yet it barely seen in the aircraft and all that rigging.. I'm amazed at all those details that you work so hard on!
I'm glad you like it and thanks for the kind works. Doing a movie of the assembling is one way to have the inner details still available after finishing the model...
Thanks - but you saw the details 😂 that's why I make pictures of the entire process. The detailing is some sort of exploring the engineering behind the construction... And sometimes I left some panels open.
Fair enough, but if I put that much effort into those details I wouldn't want them covered at all. i would want to see them always. Which would mean leaving the model incomplete.
Oh thank you Tom, like many others, i am only searching for good handmade scale models, and i was trapped by YOU ! So i have found a treasure and i will look for all of your creations ! That means an adventure for me ;-) High Five
Tom! I'm a modeler and know just how much work building this plane is, your modeling skills are ridiculous add to that your video - HOW DO YOU DO THAT! Absolutely amazing. I re-watch this video every now and again just to enjoy your skills. Thank you for your artistic work. Make a video of how you do the animation please!!
Never seen a kit build video like it! Have you tried open heart surgery? Maybe that's your day job? The animation at the end was the cherry on the cake. A brilliant video!
Also...it seems a pity to have that magnificently detailed engine build covered up in the final result. But...it is satisfying to know that it is still there, even though the casual observer might not see it. Kind of an Easter egg for those who have watched the build video. Nice touch!
Yes, you're right. Everytime details are made and be covered (like cockpit, fuselage and engines) it's a bit sad. But as you motioned it's filmed and I had the fun of assembling. And I know it's there...
+Dtm Jax my experiences with Roden were very good - the plastic quality not as good as Wingnut Wings but the details and the casts are OK. I have some more of their biplanes in my stash and I'm looking forward to building them...
So very impressive! How you achieve this model and filmmaking mastery I must learn. And the most enjoyable way to learn is to watch more of your videos. Well done sir!
but is shown during the video though 😂 ... I like the process of detailing the interieur and the engine. It's the modelling path that makes the fun. I think it's a common issue of every modeller how to handle the details not seen after assembling. For me videos are some sort of dealing with it.
I´m speechless at the degree of detail provided to this kit (which by the way has such an unusual scheme for a SE5). MAGNIFICENT WORK! Currently, to celebrate the 100th anniversary on the SE5a I´m restoring an old kit in 1/48th scale ("just" my 35th restoration on an old kit over the last 10 years or so)... though I seriously doubt that I´ll finish it with such a degree of accuracy, mostly when it comes to the rigging, which I consider a messy puzzle for real... I think that I need to be a spider, with weaving skills, eight eyes and eight legs to do that kind of job :P
thank you for your kind words - and I wish you a lot of fun with your restoration. For me the red scheme was a must do, since they spelled out the word "Schwein(e)hund" in such a funny way...
I am building a 54" wingspan Remote Control Version of the SE5a, your video inspired me to get working on it again. It is only semi-scale but still cool.
I never thought a model building video could be this graceful and creative! A great combination of modeling skill and animation/video production. The model looks superb by the way.
Thanks a lot for your kind words and I'm happy you like it 😊
I am completely blown away by your extraordinary skill. Truly amazing!
Thank you very much 😊
The modelling alone is terrific, but to combine it with real-time filming and stop- motion animation is truly amazing.
Another masterful build. Your advanced modeling skills brought the kit details to life. Awesome wood grain effect. Totally blown away by your micro surgery skills on the rigging. Bravo!!!! Bill.
thanks a lot for your kind words ;-)
Loved the 3D pilot and the model!
The amount of detail is honestly astonishing!
Thank you very much 😊
I wouldn't mind building WW1 aircraft and battleships and sailing ships, but the rigging would've driven me insane! Excellent video as always for Tom Grigat! Sehr gut!!
That took my breath away! I could watch that all day long.
Can't stop watching your videos.
Congratulations for the incredible job.
Thanks - you're welcome 😊
Loved the pilot walking to the plane and getting in. Superbly done.
Thanks - I'm glad you like
The attention to detail is absolutely incredible!!
The color schemes are nothing I’ve ever seen!!
You operate on a level few can achieve, and I appreciate and salute you your skills and dedication to this art.
Thank you 😊
How can you not enjoy the video and the craftmanship it shows? Thank you for sharing :)
I really enjoy your videos. I’m knocked out by the quality of the model building and the animation on top of that is just amazing!
Thanks a lot 😊
見ていて飽きない動画と、卓越した工作。
大変素晴らしい。
It’s fantastic! I’m from Brazil 🇧🇷 and love the military aviation from WWI.
I'm happy to hear you like my little experiments
Every time I see one of your videos I think, he wont beat this one, then....... your next one does. You have turned modelling into an artform, thank you for sharing.

Seriously, u should win an oscar with these movies and craftmanship, love it!
Thanks for the kind words 😊
You are a brilliant modeler and animator- I love watching your videos!
I'm pleased to hear 😊 thanks
Watching ugly grey plastic being transformed into realistic wood, metal, and fabric is awe-inspiring!
Thank you for the video!
Thanks, you're welcome 😊
I don't what l'm more impressed with the build or the video...even the music pulled it together. I'd be pleased to get a drip of the talent some people have in their hobby skills. Thanks...I'm inspired to improve.
Thanks for your kind words ;-)
I do love planes with the 'over and under' shotgun look, which is why I love Lightnings and SE5As so much.
Amazing work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks - you're welcome 😊
Incredible artistry.
Thank you
These videos are so much fun to watch. Thanks for the entertainment, not to mention the incredible skill and detail.
I'm pleased to hear 😊
I have always loved the SE5a You have done a brilliant job. Thanks for posting
Man-O-Man....an amazing build....very nice to watch...amazing to watch...!
Thank you 😊
Beautiful job Tom! And i love the animation.
I'm stunned. It's kind of magic. Bravo.
As always your work is incredible. The time and care in the rigging alone is mind boggling. I wish I had the patience, steady hands, and skill to do it myself, but watching your videos will have to suffice. Amazing stuff Tom. As always, thanks for sharing!
eu nunca vi um trabalho tão bem feito, tão bonito e com tantos detalhes. Merece parabéns pela montagem. um trabalho de profissional.
Obrigado pelas palavras bonitas ;-)

Blows my mind every time I watch a video of yours! Keep up the spectacular work!
Thank you very much - and I'll try to do... ;-)

I'm glad you like it and thanks for the kind works. Doing a movie of the assembling is one way to have the inner details still available after finishing the model...
Fantastic! You really get a feel for how the mechanics of the plane worked.
I don't know whats more impressive. Model or video. Nice work on both.
Rusty Huck thanks 😊
Absolutely insane. Even the box is beautiful 👍
It looks real! I was ready to jump in and take it for a flight, but that other guy beat me to it! A fantastic model indeed!
Wow the finite details! Halfway threw that first knot I would have tossed that plane airborne. Great job
The end has been spectacular!
Brilliant work. Thanks for shooting and sharing.
absolutely amazing work bnut honestly. I have never understood putting so much time and effort into details that will literally never be seen.
Great looking plane. Getting the model fighter pilot to hop in for the test flight, is a good precaution. Easy on the linsead oil though.
i cant stop watching this ! this video makes me relaxed !
Wow... Sehr gut gemacht. Tolle Arbeit.
You sir are an absolute genius! This video is incredible! Amazing modelling skills, stop frame animation and video editing skills !
thank you very much... ;-)
WW1 " R F C"

Excellent choice of music. I just enjoy your videos. Thank you

Another quality build that accentuates my incompetence.
Very impressive.
Wow, awesome work. Love the model and great ending. Looking forward to more.
I'm pleased you like my little experiments - I'm currently working on the sopwith camel from Artesania Latina. Coming soon...
You have a surgical precision with theses models, very skilled video editor too, great work!!
Raphael Doné Thanks 😊
Lovely detail. Photos frequently show wrinkling of the fuselage fabric aft of the cockpit but no one reproduces that.
Never seen a kit build video like it! Have you tried open heart surgery? Maybe that's your day job? The animation at the end was the cherry on the cake. A brilliant video!
Great build love the stop motion good craftsmanship well done.
Very impressive! I really would like to see tutorial videos from you on detailing, painting, weathering and so on... :-)
that "wood" is amazing
+Michael Colin thank you ;-)

+cg462 you're welcome 😊

Outstanding video and modeling skills man! Bravo to you sir.
+Dtm Jax thanks 😊
BTW- What is your opinion of the quality of Roden kits? I am eyeing one or two but have no experience with their products at all.
+Dtm Jax my experiences with Roden were very good - the plastic quality not as good as Wingnut Wings but the details and the casts are OK. I have some more of their biplanes in my stash and I'm looking forward to building them...
Tom Grigat Thanks Tom. Yes Wingnuts set a high bar for sure. Beautiful kits. Of course they cost 2-3 times more as well.
Insuperable calidad de trabajo....un placer ver estos videos.....saludos
Gracias
Work of love and patience.
This was epic. Really. Well done Sir!

So very impressive! How you achieve this model and filmmaking mastery I must learn. And the most enjoyable way to learn is to watch more of your videos. Well done sir!

Espectacular, sin palabras....gracias por compartir.
all that amazing detail
andthenongoesthecover

So much attention paid to the plane and yet the ordnance - the bombs - look lightweight and artificial, without any handling.
We’ll done thx for showing
You're welcome 😊
I am guessing this guy is a surgeon for a living. Such skill!
Aweesoomee... amazing build!!.. Salute for u sir!
Love it the detail the mix of styles the craftsmanship, man everything congratulations :)
Thank you ;-)
Wonderful job. I'm so glad I discovered your vids!
Thank you... There are more to come ;-)
Wow. What a cool video. I am starting a WNW SE5a and came across this video, it is a great inspiration!
I'm glad I could have been helpful 😊
Excellent work!!!
Thank you 😊
Really impressed with your work and the effort making these videos!! Welcome and Thank you!!
excellent work and video was amazing

Nice job! I like your style...
+Darryl Landry thanks ;-)
Incredible video.
Awesome video, really enjoyed watching it.
Thank you, nice to hear...
I am building a 54" wingspan Remote Control Version of the SE5a, your video inspired me to get working on it again.
It is only semi-scale but still cool.
I wish many success and fun ;-)
This film is genius!
Awesome build, awesome video!!! 👌👍👏
An incredible job. It needs to go inside a glass hanger when it's not in service.
