  • /www.magpiegemstones.com This is a short video discussing the basic tools required to start making wire wrapped jewelry. It also goes a step further into what tools are nice to have when starting out. Just a note I forgot to add a bench block to go with the hammers. On my site I just posted an article "All About Wire" you might want to take a peek. Its at magpiegemstones . com (they won't let me post a url. Then take a peek at the Blog for Jewelry Designers. Lots of info there.
    Thanks for asking!

I have never used patterned wire. That would be fun! Thanks for the kind words.

I picked up the parellel pliers in Quartzsite, there is no name on them. A great place to get tools is gem and bead shows. I do not sell tools, many places do that much better than I can like FDJ tools. They are funner to buy in person anyway if you can!

Guess I should have waited until the end of the video in case I had another question, which I do. What brand are your parallel rubber pliers? I've never seen parallel rubber pliers. Do you sell these tools?

Your instructions are the BEST!! I am learning to do wire wrap. Do you have anyips for wire wrapped pattern wire? I want to do these, but I haven't found a lot of good info on the net. Thanks again, you are great.

Hi. What brand are your crimping pliers? I have a pair, but in comparison to the ones you show, mine are flimsy. I would love to get a pair like that. Thanks in advance!

Good info. Just thought I would mention that the audio and the video are not synced very well. So I just made me eyes and my ears work at different speeds. No problem...

I appreciate your attitude about how things work for you not necessarily how it is suppose to work. I have found that to be true for myself over the years. I like what I like. but you are also correct when it come to buying tools.. what saves time may not save money or control. Plz keep the vids coming CC

I received the basic set of 4 Lindstrom pliers as a gift and they make a huge difference! But I would like to work with thicker gauge wire, like 16 to 12 gauge. These pliers, (the flush cutters), as I understand, works on 16 gauge wire and thinner, but to use them on a thicker gauge, can ruin the cutters and I'm not even sure if the other pliers, (round nose etc.,) are ok to use on that thick of wire. They didn't really come with how to take care of them, instructions, come with instructions. Can you or anyone else reading this, recommend what kind of flush cutters and pliers like round nose pliers are used for heavier gauges as low as 12 gauge and lower? Thank you!!!

The ones you thought might be called bent nose pliers are actually bent nose pliers. :)
