    I just bought a 98 Fatboy from the original owner with 28K on it in bone stock factory garage kept for $3.100.00 off of Facebook Marketplace. He is an old guy like me and didn't ride it hard and had his maintenance log from the day his got it the owners manual and a shop manual. They are deals out there if you look and have cash.

    • @JonsMotoGarage
      @JonsMotoGarage  5 лет назад +1

      It's real hit or miss. Sometimes you find good deals, other times they're all overpriced. That still sounds like a good deal on the '11 considering the low miles.

      I didn't put a ton of miles on it but it still had the distinct rumble to it. Nominal difference to me, but I wasn't necessarily comparing in that way either.

    Perfect timing amigo (as RUclips led me to this vid)... I'm looking at a 2016 Fatboy Lo 103 with a stage 1 Kit and the fancy vented HD windshield. They're asking like 14k with 4,390 miles. It's an HD dealership though so... you know how that goes. Person to person sales on newer HDs just don't happen often around me. I'm 5'11 or 6" with my riding boots on... and have a mental block with the idea of the "Lo" being proportionate to me!?!? Any advice you've got Jon (or anyone else) would be appreciated

    • @JonsMotoGarage
      @JonsMotoGarage  4 года назад +2

      Best bet would be throwing a leg over to see how it feels. Hard to say for sure how you'll find the fit. One thing you might consider is checking out the new M8 softails as well since they won't be too much more (pricewise). I would try to get your hands on both to decide which you prefer.

      Jon's Moto Garage Thanks Jon. I did ride the 2016 Fatboy today and it felt really good but my wife and I took a bunch of pics and vids and were like “do I look to big?” or is the name “Lo” messing with us!?!? I’m coming off a 2010 Sportster 1200C so it’s a huge difference. Other bike I’m considering is a 2018 Heritage Classic around the same price.

    • @JonsMotoGarage

      @@4drumz-662 you may consider a street glide or road glide as well. You should be able to get a 2014-2016 in that $16k range. They may look overwhelming, but you'd be surprised how similar the ride/handling is to your dyna and softail line.

    The fatboy usually gets a high resale. You definitely need to get it cheap as possible, a lot of please take over the payments here in new Jersey a ton of reasons for it believe it or not the biggest one is the bike is just to big and heavy. Sometimes people don't wanna make money they just wanna get out of it.

    Hi,
    Damm those bikes are realy cheap in The USA.
    i Live in The Netherlands and I bought my 96 cu Fatboy low ( here called Fatboy Special) 2011 same black denim paint in November 2019.
    The price was 16,000 euro. And that is an common price at The dealer for an 5HD ( european). It is Including waranty.
    Now I understand that Import from The US could be a good buisness.
    Including shipping tax and registration. An Used imported Harley-Davidson will be cheaper but The difference is I guess 1000 euro.

    • @hookaheyapache8613
      @hookaheyapache8613 5 лет назад +1

      By The way, do you know if The low 2011 already has The Screaming Eagle compensator? 2007-2010 / 11 has The weaker compensator. Not sure when they chance to Se compensator.

    • @JonsMotoGarage
      @JonsMotoGarage  5 лет назад

      Not sure on the compensator. I had a 2010 rk and it had the worse compensator knock ever. Apparently pretty common. I didnt realize they jacked the prices up so much over seas. We should start an import/export business. Hahaha!

    Hi Jon. Pardon my ignorance but I'm just curious about the numbers you mentioned. Did you include the tax in the $8250 you paid for the bike or that's on top? I'm only asking because in B.C. we have to pay a 12% tax even on a private sale.

    • @JonsMotoGarage
      @JonsMotoGarage  5 лет назад +1

      Ugh, 12%! It varies by state, but arizona doesn't require sales tax on private party deals. However, they do limit how many you can sell per year. I know California and most other states do tax on private party but not sure how much...thanks for watching and ride safe!

    • @hunkyhungarian378
      @hunkyhungarian378 5 лет назад +1

      @@JonsMotoGarage Thanks for your reply. Well off my hat to Arizona's lawmakers for letting their people off the hook when it comes to this. I guess up here in B.C. they really don't want us to be making a little money on the side. When you sign the bike over to someone, that's when you pay the 12% tax.
      Thanks for the videos you upload. I enjoy watching them. Good luck on your future dealings!
