      This is a lip synced performance. It's the album version exactly, you cannot duplicate the exact performance live. They are great live performers. I do have to say, there WAS what's called "Pitch Correction" (Auto Tune) in the 70s. The difference? They just didn't use it! As a matter of fact it wasn't till Cher's song "Believe" in 97/98 that it was heavily used and became known as the "Cher effect" in the industry. Madonna and many others copied the sound. But they used it as an effect on the vocal...now it is used more (disingenuously?...Idk) for the purpose it was made...pitch correction

This is a live recording of a concert that you're watching. Literally these sounds came out of that woman's face. I know it's hard to believe, but there you have it- because there was no autotune or post-processing, singers mostly didn't dance or do choreography WHILE singing in rock and pop the way we see it today. They put all of that energy and concentration into developing vocal discipline.

That's the best way I can explain it and it was the sensation I felt at the 2nd Heart concert I was at. In the 25 years that I saw concerts - from Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado to Winterland in San Francisco to Oakland Coliseum to McNichols Arena, Denver to the Hollywood Bowl, there are only 4 times that I remember that feeling. This was a live performance! No autotune then, just pure talent! Nancy Wilson is one of the very best female singers ever! There was some real anger behind this song because of lies the recording executives had been telling in the press about the sisters in order to try to sell more records. They quit the label and made music elsewhere. Check out Crazy on You, and Magic Man. Anne can sing too!

    Two girls. Ann and Nancy Wilson. Unbelievable talent. Ann has killer vocals and Nancy is ranked in the top ten best female guitarist of all time. Nancy also sings and they both play multiple instruments.

      Don't forget the multi-talented men in the band who co-wrote the songs that are Heart's most popular songs. Do you not see them? Why do you think these phenomenal guys were also inducted in the Hall of Fame if the two women were the whole band. I love how Nancy Wilson's solo albums and tours have been disasters.

      Pete D, you sound a little put out. I’m well aware of the talent in the “BAND.” at that time. The conversation was leaning more towards the girls, which it normally does before getting to the band members.

    • @peted9804
      @peted9804 Год назад

      @@sherryarflin726 It's not OK to not continue the false narrative that only the girls made the "BAND" which they did not. It was categorically a collaborative effort among 6 VERY talented band members. Unless of course, you ask Nancy who is still bitter after all of these years. Yes, Nancy did not want the guys inducted into the Hall of Fame with Heart or at the very least, they were to be given short shrift if they were. The first time I saw Heart was in 1979 with this lineup and they were great!!!. The next time was in 1985 when the sisters took control and the music and line-up had changed. BTW - the "girls" did not write their big 1980s hits -- are you aware of that?

    I was a teenager in the 70's, actually I was 15 in 1977 and I know there was no autotune, nothing to make voices sound different except microphones.....yes, this is Live... They sounded like this Live. I went to concerts in the 70's, almost everyone I can think of had really good voices.... Go check out Nancy and Ann now, they sing Stairway to heaven for a tribute to Led Zeppelin in 2012...... Fantastic

    I’ve seen them live, can guarantee she can sing. She comes from an age before “singers” needed autotune to sound “good”, all they needed was talent, and she’s got it in spades! Other songs from them to react to..their cover of Stairway To Heaven and Crazy On You.
