Angus Young is one of the most iconic guitarists of all time. You guys pointed out the way he moves across the stage, it’s actually his homage to one of the most legendary black rock n rollers of all time: Chuck Berry. Chuck created the “duck walk” while he played guitar and Angus adopted it.

Anyways, I saw AC\DC live in Baltimore after senior year on the way to Ocean City with friends.
Angus, live, was a religious experience. He never stopped moving for two hours.
The highlight was when the arena went dark. 3 spot lights across the stage. Left, center, and right. The drumming starts and the song "Let There Be Rock," started.
Angus shows up in the right spot light and fucking wails on that guitar as if his life depended on it. He fades out and the drumming sounds like someone is stalking in the dark.
Angus pops in the left and does another different solo. He fades out as the drumming pounds. Pop's in the center and goes insane. The crowd was deafening but the guitar was louder and glorious.
Thank you for that reaction. It garnered much laughter and memories.

This is one of my favorite videos of all time. And yes y'all were correct about how the band got their name...The Young brothers Angus & Malcolm had an older sister who made the School Boy uniform for Angus. She made it with her sewing machine which in those days had a pedal or switch that could go from Alternating Current to Direct Current. So there is the name "AC/DC" I remember over 40 years ago some folks were "stupid" enough to think that it meant "anti-Christ, devil's child" wth??

Angus is absolutely legendary! One of the concerts I went to started with a statue of Angus as tall as the stage. It had horns, red lighted eyes and smoke coming out of the nose. I lost my voice screaming Angus that night, it was epic!

2:33 - No-one ever notices Angus is playing the opening guitar riff with one hand. He even changes key in the middle. He's not saluting the audience, he's saying, "Look ma, one hand."

Angus Young and his brother were born in Scotland and moved to Australia with their family in 1963 when Angus was 8 years old. ACDC is out of this world and my favorite is Thunderstruck. Thanks guys.

3 of ACDCs original members were born and started school in Scotland, Their families immigrated to Australia and they met and started the band. You can actually see the Scottish influence in how similar Bonn Scotts delivery is to The Sensational Alex Harvey Band.....Bonn used to play the bagpipes on stage and in videos all the time. In fact David Byrne of Talking heads was born in Dumbarton Scotland just down the road from where I am currently living :)

"AC/DC" is an abbreviation meaning "alternating current/direct current" electricity. The brothers felt that this name symbolised the band's raw energy, power-driven performances of their music. "AC/DC" is pronounced one letter at a time, though the band are colloquially known as "Acca Dacca" in Australia.

Nope - they got the name off the back of their sisters sewing machine - there's no deep and meaningful there - how do I know? Because back in the 70's we all hung around together and that's how the name came about, don't believe me? Check it out.

Angus McKinnon Young (born 31 March 1955) is an Australian musician, best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, songwriter, and the only remaining founding member of the hard rock band AC/DC. He is known for his energetic performances, schoolboy-uniform stage outfits and his own version of Chuck Berry's duckwalk. Young was ranked 38th in the 2023 edition of Rolling Stone's 250 greatest guitarists of all-time list.[1] In 2003, Young and the other members of AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
