100% classics in this video. Charlie with his Grammer guitar, “Who Will Buy The Wine” written by Billy or Buddy Mize, Harlan Howard’s “Pick Me Up On Your Way Down”, and a band that actually sounds country with fiddle and pedal steel. Only thing missing is Ray Price singing the ‘Tennessee Tenor’ harmony on “Who Will Buy…”. Thanks for this great post.
It's really great to see the ladies playing fiddles , guitar etc. on this song. Appears there's at least two or more. plus the background singers. Good stuff! Pick Me up on your way down, an immortal country song. Charlie does it best IMO. mosrite60
@@patcoleman8443 ok thx. Indeed she's very good. I've also seen on her electric guitar and dobro. Played on Some of Bill Gaiter's gospel vids. The country ones.
Elissa, Thanks for sharing. Charlie has always been a favorite of mine. Though now no longer with us, his unique style and songs remain. Saw him at the Opry a number of years ago and fell in love with him and his songs. Thanks again!
Pick Me Up on Your Way Down, still the best version by Charlie. Great song. Many other artists have recorded, including Martina. Tommy White on steel. amazing player. mosrite60
Prime Time Country, not the Opry. Some confusion here. The stage does not appear the Opry, can you kindly advise? Also the fiddle player is definitely from PTC back in 96. But two great country songs. mosrite60
Sylvain Giraud It would make sense as Charlie and Ray were the two biggest proponents of the “Texas shuffle” style. Ray Price frequently sang harmony for Charlie Parker, including on the studio version of this song.
That's Wanda Vick on fiddle. I think she can play anything that has strings on it. I know besides fiddle, she plays steel guitar, regular guitar, and other instruments. She was a member of Porter Wagoner's all female band for a while back in the 80's.
oh yeah, Wanda very talented. Those were the times when country was still country. great TV shows with great musicians. Tommy White wow what a steel guy. thx shuffle 877! cheers. mos60

Charlie Walker has to be the grand emperor of great Honky Tonk songs and I also appreciate His Kind tribute to the great Minnie Pearl I miss them both

This is country y'all. What happened to it?
The song "Who will by the wine" sure sounds the same as Ray Price's "If she could see me now" only with different words. Both greats songs though.

Billy mize sung it best!
👍
Prime Time Country, great TV show. Band is excellent, but who is the lady on fiddle? I've seen her on other country shows. Very good IMO. mosrite60
