I got to go see the Opry in March 1958 . Only time I got to see it . Listened to it on WSM every time I got the chance. Best country music of all time. Don't care for what they call " country music" anymore. Alan Jackson is about the only country music singer who sings the music like it's supposed to be sung .
Haven't bought any music since the Possum died. Haggard and Cash were great but there was only one George Jones - best country music singer of all time.

Marty was one of the nicest people I ever met. And he was hilarious. A really down to earth guy. Always missed but never forgotten. Rest easy, old friend.

I’m 51 and saw him before he passed when I was 8 years old. He’s been my musical hero ever since. I wish I’d have had the chance to have met him.

I really miss the talent and artistry of singers like Marty Robbins. Today's "music" is a mishmash of crap from the half naked "pop tarts" to rappers. Just awful.

These were filmed between 1953 and 1956.
As June Carter was not wearing a wedding ring in this show, (and appeared to have a rather sad look in her eyes) I'd have to say that this was filmed sometime shortly after she and Carl Smith separated and/or divorced, which was sometime in 1956.

Whoever wrote that song should be forced to share royalties with the Hank Williams Estate.
Obviously stolen from Hanks “Moanin the Blues.”

It was written by June Carter; highly doubt the Williams family would mind if June 'borrowed ' from Hank; she was Jr.'s godmother.

Why is the First Response of Americans to take legal action on each other.
For crying out loud how many generations ago was this.?
You're old, and you ain't going to be around that much longer, and the best thing you got to say is something like that instead of something like, gee that sure was some fine performing...
      Shake my head
