Thanks, man. I was getting desperate and I thought I was gonna throw it out the window. This really helped, and it's now watchable and playable in VR without glitches.

You can increase pixel density to 1.3, 1.4 or 1.5 in steam settings but that will hit the performance. Keep it as low as you feel comfortable
@@Kapo_Racing thanks, I’ll play with those settings, the pc is more then capable of running it in 4k? It’s a 4070ti, i just don’t know how to get it to look that crispy in the vr, the monitors look incredible obviously. I’m pretty sure i have everything just about maxed out. Your debug settings help a lot as well the last recommended would cause a crash
@quintenblackman136 unfortunately it's the nature of vr and F1 game engine is not that crisp as Assetto Corsa or some other games. Nevertheless I enjoy it a lot driving it in VR:)

This made my game worse. I couldn't even get into TT before it freezer on me and SteamVR crashed notification came up. When I restore everything back to normal, it does the same thing when it didn't before.
I use an original quest because I got it in 2019 when Quest first started (although I did get a refurbishment a few months ago) and I have never been able to launch a game and have it running at a stable frame rate AT ALL! I also use Virtual Desktop to play games from my PC to my VR which is the best program to use I have heard to screen VR games to your headset.
Any other idea's on how to fix this?
You must be skipping some of the steps(probably first step) Make sure your oculus settings are same as in the video. It sounds like your pixel density is too high for your GPU to handle and crashes your game. I have no issues and gameplay is super smooth with my settings. I still use the same settings with my 3070. What's your GPU and cpu BTW?
Tried vr and it was great but blurry with DLSS being the only way to play. Did this vid and at first it bricked my EA app but after messing with it it’s made the game so much better. Can actually have a sharp image with reflections and lighting now. Thank you fella

Is there a way to get the lap time and data on screen during time trial please?
There's a way but I haven't test it. You need 2 apps running. Simhub and crew chief. Search for crew chief overlay in vr and you should see how to make it work. But maybe it's not working on f1 so I'm not sure
You have to go into race mode itself (Race/Quali/Practice/TimeTrial) and then go into the OSD settings and (or press F9 to toggle through the modes) and toggle the "Set Hidden" to False for every item you want to see.

I need help please.. I have a 5600x 16gb ram a 3080, I keep having the game just blurry from a distance. The road has jaggys and the promo signs are bearly legible until you get close.
I'm running it on a quest 2 via USB c link.
I've been messing with oculas resolution scale and got it to 1.3 and it got better but still not good enough =/
How do you set a custom Res on in-game?
In game resolution is not important it's just the image mirrored to monitor. If you tried my settings correctly I'm afraid nothing we can do to make it better. Maybe you need a better cpu 5600x is not optimal for vr. Those blurry image is there also for me but I get used to it after playing for few hours

So its crazy I bumped the res to 1.4 and kept my FPS at 80 -_-
Now I get a nice and clean picture.
I haven't noticed any drops yet, I also haven't been running that many tracks and races so I'm sure I'll get a beautiful dip in fps and increase in frame time.
It just leaves me confused, the other racing game I play more close to sim is ACC and it runs amazing and clear but I didn't have to go balls deep in the res.
I feel like F1 23 might have an issue in the VR department but I honesty do t even want to look it up -_-
If true, I'm just tired of so many games that capture my attention just to find out it was halfed ass. Just way to common these days =/
Cool:) yep, something is broken in F1 vr implementation. I wish they could fix that but I'm pretty sure they won't
Isso the FOV slides still there in steamVR 2.0? I can't find it using my pico 4 and VD

Whenever i close my vr settings it resets my changed and when it doesn't the resolution change isn't reflected in the f1 settings
I don't know why rly. Maybe it's a server sync issue with the steam or ea app?
This has made my game look loads better, with me having a 4070, do you think I can push the settings a bit and any tips to do so?
Nice to hear that. You can increase the pixel density a bit more until you get stutters

For me horizontal movement seems smooth but vertical movement is really bouncy. Such a shame. Would love to have it as smooth as iRacing or Ac
That's weird. Sometimes I have horizontal lags but after restarting the computer it runs smoothly. One thing I recognized, after a long break, I played f1 and it felt super smooth. Maybe ea fixed something I don't know

i have a meta quest 3 and 99% of the time the graphics is so bad through VR, no idea what the best setting should be. i have 4090 and 7800x3D. USB 3 cable seems fine reported 3Gbps. tried cranking the settings in bitrate to 900mbps, maxed out in game graphic to ultra VR😢, diabled DLSS and still nothing. as i’m used to playing using my 4K 120hz tv,the clarity feels more like 1080p.
Have you tried other sim titles? I'm asking because F1 is not the best looking racing game in vr. Maybe your expectations are too high but I enjoy it a lot even the clarity is not the best compared to monitors
hi, I followed all steps , but still something is horribly off with the (head)tracking in this game.
When moving my head sitting in the car , the whole world moves slightly, which should not be the case obviously,
and this is making for a very nauseating experience! (I have a good gaming pc with a 3070ti , using Quest2 w link cable... and bought F1 23 in Steam , not in EA)
So you do not have this tracking issue (any more)?
Surely you must have had it at first since it does this out of the box... and then somehow you got it fixed w some setting change, I'm sure else you would not be driving a few laps without puking... :)
Can you please share what setting made the horrific tracking issue go away?

I have that issue only at the beginning of the sessions for a about 10 seconds and then it goes away slightly, like it becomes %50 better. Unfortunately, it's a game issue and I've tried tons of settings but couldn't fix that issue. When I'm on the track btw I don't have that issue and I can turn my head without problems. Still, something is off with the game, like its stuttering every second but it's not unplayable. I enjoy it a lot with my settings. I read somewhere that changing the audio settings both in Windows and steam can make the stuttering better. Google it and I'm sure you can find that:)
@@Kapo_Racing thx, but this should be fixed by EA ... not worked around and/or tolerated by the users. I think I'll ask for a refund then...

@@edwinenela I had this same issue. Re-download the oculus app on your PC. Re-start your headset, then when it asks you to access files, hit Deny. This worked for me for some reason. 3060ti with Q2.

Need to have the lowest video resolution as its just the mirrored resolution to the monitor not the headset. Eats up FPS unless your recording.

I had a black screen starting the Oculus app with the Meta Quest 3. Launching the game with Virtual Desktop works.
I noticed the game is blurry in the distance with low & ultra settings, I don't know if this is normal in VR Mode?
Sadly it's the nature of VR. Some games are better like Assetto Corsa. There's only one solution, if your GPU is capable enough, try increase the pixel density

I have a problem with f1 23, when i launch it in vr with cable or without it, when the menu shows, not even at vr mode yet it starts to lag to the point that it freezes and seconds later it crashes. I dont think its a problem with mi gpu or cpu because other games like assetto corsa run fine, and f1 crashes in the menu, which i think its strange. I've seen people on internet with the same problem but without answers, could anyone help me?
Does the game crashes even without the vr mode?
@@Kapo_Racing your video made it better but its still very bad performance. You know when you launch it the menu isn't in vr, so thats when it would crash, bit now in that moment it goes super laggy and when i go on fast lap my fps drop down to like 3. In non vr mode the game goes normal and i can run it with a good quality
Something is definitely wrong in your setup. Do you have oculus? If yes try to uninstall and install oculus app again and take a look at steamvr settings and make your your pixel density is 1.0
@@Kapo_Racingwell, it was the gpu. I bought a rtx 3060 and goes kind of well now, only there is one thing that i dont know if it's possible to change, and is the camera shake, it shakes very hardly and in vr there's no option to remove it
Well I'm afraid it's the gpu again:( I'm also struggling with the 3070 now. I believe you need at least 3080ti to run the game with my settings. But you can try to lower settings one by one and see if it helps

@@Kapo_Racing In your tutorial you talk about the oculus debug tool but in the meta quest 3 I don't see that program to download it

Seems to be working for me (even if it’s not the best, but I guess this is the game which is not properly developed for VR). So thanks for sharing those settings.
I happen to have a lot of other problems:
The game freezes sometimes and I have to re launch the game
SteamVR crashes
Do you guys happen to have the same issues ?

Hello. I don't have the freezing issues or steam vr crashes. Maybe you need to reinstall the game, steam vr or integrity check? Or maybe it's the cable that cause a problem? Yes, VR implementation is not optimized but I enjoy it a lot lately

@@Kapo_Racing Sorry to bother you again, I am trying to use Oculus Tray Tool in order to save settings for different games but I don't manage to setup the proper path to launch it in steam vr. I tryied Steam.exe and this path : VC:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\bin\win64\vrstartup.exe but it keep launching it without vr... Sorry I am a noob with PC

Well there are still better settings... for those who want to run this poorly optimized game in VR (Those who can run Half Life Alyx at 100+ FPS in VR and only get 10 with the settings displayed in this video in F1 23)
All in game settings the lowest possible, use VR settings from the video, decrease your video mode resolution to the lowest possible (you technically dont need whats rendered in the window on your desktop, the game renders that twice, other VR Games dont display anything in that window for a reason, that reason being to not render everything twice)
Now heres what you should use on SteamVR Settings (enable advanced settings): Resolution per eye: 1040 x 1052, Custom resolution multiplier: around 50% to 100% FOV 90%, decrease either Resolution per eye or Custom resolution multiplier untill you hit 60fps. Ive found that resolution per eye has the largest performance impact, so much so that Force feedback was delivering enough data again on the steering wheel to make that work properly.
What's your GPU and cpu? 10 fps with this settings are impossible unless you miss some step. I get constant +90fps in a race with the 3080ti and even with a 3070
@@Kapo_Racing GTX 1650 Super no way i buy a RTX as someone at the bottom of the working class.
Firstly: set your headset to 72FPS (!!!! Important) . Secondly: try medium default settings ingame. (ignore all settings in Steam VR. Leave default) - Enjoy the game. - Specs. i5 12th Gen, 3080ti, 32GB, Quest 3. No wokkas - works a charm.
Never set your fps to 72 in F1. Game runs super smooth with the 90 fps
I'm not gonna bother with this in vr, the implementation sucks. Such a shame, just got a quest3 and i was really looking forward to playing this in vr😞
It's not the best vr implementation for sure but it's playable without any drops or stuttering. Of course it's not fluent as Assetto Corsa but I enjoy it a lot. Hopefully they will make it better with the updates or maybe next year:)

Bró, VR is broken in this game...
It was broken but not anymore. It's smooth as ac or iracing after the updates. Don't know what did they do but it's really smooth right now.
