Yo why does every video assume we already know step 1!!! For all the new wow players/1st timers like me. You have to equip leatherworking from your spellbook/abilities (p by default). It will be under general. Once you click on the icon it should bring up your leatherwork crafting menu, THEN START this video. Not sure why there are so many guides out there that start at step 3 instead of 1. Thanks for the guide still very useful.
I know it's a 1 year old comment, but it is so relatable I just had to say that, this and cooking, fishing and lighting up a bonfire were quite a puzzle to me.
one other minor issue- makes nightscape headband look like a huge profit because you did not account for the silken thread cost (9s if honored). drops profit quite a bit but still a great profit. I would actually modify the guide to swap over to nightscape bp. its same mats + 2 thick leather compared to the helm, but 15s more sell price. so if you can keep acquiring thick leather in the 6s and under range, it becomes the better profit margin. I've crafted hundreds of these and actually took LW up to 270 just on the bp haha. Also have profited about ~50g. Your tips started the process though so thanks! edit: actually you did it on the pants as well. ignoring the 18s cost of 4x threads. Wrecks profit margin. nightscape BP is the way to go.

Almost every gold making hide says to take skinning/mining and sell on the auction house. The place to make money right now is with the crafting professions because the mats are so dirt cheap! Hop on it now before the economy levels out in the next few months

Plus, Light Leather Pants is a vendor trained recipe so no need to hunt the pattern down. Yes, you cannot make it until 95, but if nothing else it is a great way to liquidate your light leather/light hide inventory for profit as you level.

Thanks for the video! I just started playing Classic WoW last week. I have a level 19 rogue and a level 9 hunter. Both have mining and skinning, and I have about 3.5 gold. However, the rogue's gear is pretty much sh!t. I'll switch one of 'em to leatherworking ASAP.
ez for me since i have a mage main that i farm runs, i then send it to my alt with lw i chose a rouge so i can use the +skinning dagger and enchant. i am level 30 and im at 225 lw. yes i do pay for 2 subs so i can use my mage alt to mass kill beasts so my rouge can skin. its not tos since i am not doing it to sell accounts or gold and im staying in legal terms
Nice video! Just wanted to add that for Alliance players there might be more profit in selling Hillman's Cloak on the AH or in chat since it's part of a quest (Bartolo's Yeti Fur Cloak) in Hillsbrad. I crafted a bunch of Hillman's Cloaks before heading out to Hillsbrad to quest the other day and I marketed them i chat while questing. Sold 11 cloaks for 35 s each in a matter of about 2 hours with pretty much no effort at all. 3g 85s in 2 hours may not be super much gold per hour but it's definitely better than vendoring it.

The problem with this video is that you say certain items will cost X amount but they do not cost that at my AH. So I do not make much profit if any in all of your examples. You should not assume that the items to buy are that low of a static price but rather give a range to us in which we could make a profit from. Well done with organizing video but sadly it paints a misleading picture.
Because of how AH fluctates, this video provides true value which means that you the profit is fixed at the vendors. i.e. you could make more at the AH, but you can make it directly from the vendors
perhaps im not entirely understand one aspect of this. firstly, are you suppose to be getting the mats from the ah, or gathering them yourself? secondly, is the price per item crafted displayed because the mats were gotten off of the ah?
Hey Ben I do recommend everyone go skinning with leather working as you just get some many mats. I'm working on a second video for leatherworking that will focus on what's the best profit item for each tier of leather along with what's the breaking point of what I would buy leather for it
So for the rrecipes, if they are orange you will level up for sure. If its yellow you will likely level up, and if its green you will likely not level up. I focus mostly on orange and yellow recipes while I level but green works well if its an item you can make good profit or its something you need.

It appears to assume you've gathered the leather and the profit is comparing to the value if you had just sold the leather to a vendor. Which is fair at least on my server I can buy most things on the auction house for maybe a copper or two more than their vendor price

Are you horde or alliance? Off the top of my head if you are horde you need to be in TB to get specific recipes that ORG trainers don't have. For alliance I believe the same is for Darnassus

Great question! I'm still theorycrafting this. My thoughts are that if you are using the AH for buying leather you also need to sell your items on the AH as well and everything is really hard to sell. It really depends on what you are selling. My estimate for Med Leather is around 15s a stack

I used another 2 gloves and another 4 embosed leather cloak (still yellow) to go to 103, i will see some extra for 105 ;)

happygerb bp means breastplate- common for chest slot. Actual item is nightscape tunic
