Low and behold look what was first in line when I turned on my RUclips Channel this morning!!! Bucco with a jazzy looking red collar!!! Looking fine Mr. Bucco!! Say John, I’m curious if you can tell when I give your older videos a “thumbs up “?? With no comment???? Thanks!!! My dizzy feeling seems to be going away…
I recently bought this exact table at a thrift store. I wanted to practice my refinishing skills. Based on the serial number, it was manufactured in 1975. Don't think that qualifies as midcentury. But I'm in the process of working on it and it's helpful to see someone revive the same table.
WOW, those tables turned out beautifully - obviously ! Great to watch you work, and what fun to see Bucco having such a good time in the woods - you really have a lovely companion there. Take care and thanks for posting your videos.
I had the same thing about 7 or 8 years ago after a cold. It took some years to regain my smell. It helps to sniff essential oils, to train the olfactory nerve.
My goodness, those tables are exquisite! This project is a real contender for my favorite episode yet with the Antique Tiger Oak Server a very close second. The color and finish are _très magnifique!_
Beautiful job. First time watching you because I have those exact end tables which I purchased in 1979 in Philadelphia. Mine also need refinishing, so thanks for the inspiration! Take care!
Learned something from you today!! My first time seeing the steam iron to remove a scratch!! I got tripped up on the use of the the word “dent “ which I have seen before!!
Wow, sorry to hear about the covid thing. Didn't know you had it. Hopefully you recover fully and don't have too much of the long-haul issues. Good work!
Had Covid a couple years ago. Be well and feel better. Love the tables! I've seen people use oxalic acid to reduce black staining on wood, could that have helped the cigarette burn? Thanks for the new video!
Thank you! Hope you are well! I believe a burn is too far gone. That is typically used for water marks and whatnot. I do have the perfect piece for it!
@@JohnBearWoodworks thank you for answering that question for me. I've never used the OA on anything, I've always been concerned that it would dry out the wood.
I'm trying to refinish a mahogany desk and my top coat keeps coming up cloudy, even though I add some colored paint to it, but I'm trying some oil based polyurethane it seems to work a little better, do you have this problem too...?
I have some vintage Lane that I plan on restoring so this video is good timing! Question: what did you use for your top coat? Was it the lacquer that you used for the first coat?
I have some maple colonial end tables to do the tops are in water stain and patchy worn of in spots. Do I need to strip the entire piece to get the same results as this. I have ten turned columns that would need complete sanding that would take forever to clean/strip to bare wood.
On those scratches you should really trying putting a wet rag over tjem and then hitting the rag with an iron. Those will probably pop right up and sand out.
Thanks bud. I think some people just may need to turn up their hearing aids/realize they're watching an amateur videographer on a free RUclips video. This isn't HGTV! 🤣🤣🤣
Yea, you are going to have to invest in some sort of a clip on microphone (like I know what I’m talking about!!) more serious comment, is this a project for a client or for you??
I tried the lavaliere mic. All you hear is the rustling of my shirt and none of the work being done. This is about as good as it gets with my budget and videography/editing knowledge. I'm a one man band bud cut me some slack! 🤣

Wow. The colour on those tables is spectacular. Well done.
Beautiful! I love Lane furniture. Always enjoy watching Buck race around. The jazz music was really enjoyable.
Thanks! 😃

Those strap clamps are nifty 👍 nice work bud.
Thanks bud! 😃
They look really good. And I love it when you show the dog running around so nice. Can you tell me what you use as the top coat? thank you.
Thanks! I use Precat lacquer.
Lane serial numbers on the bottom are the date code from right to left.
Very nice!! What is the manufacture date of these tables?? sorry if I missed it in the vid.
PS. loved the jazz music :)
Thanks bud! There was a model number but no date.
Wow, these tables turned out beautiful! What color and brand of stain and top coat did you use for this project?
It's in the video bud!
I'm trying to refinish a mahogany desk and my top coat keeps coming up cloudy, even though I add some colored paint to it, but I'm trying some oil based polyurethane it seems to work a little better, do you have this problem too...?
You add paint to a clear coat?! 🤯
I have some vintage Lane that I plan on restoring so this video is good timing! Question: what did you use for your top coat? Was it the lacquer that you used for the first coat?
I use a lacquer vinyl sealer then topcoat.
@@JohnBearWoodworks Thanks, was curious about the type of top coat. I like the finish and was hoping to get similar.

Yep good luck!
Hi John. What did your customer think of your amazing work?
Loved it! 😃

On Lane pieces the serial number is the date made backwards
Video and audio are fine on my end

Not sure why the image quality is so poor in this video.
It was just uploaded. It's still processing. Check back later!
A mic would be nice 🙏🏼
Link to donate to the channel is in the video description! 😃
