I would like to flip pieces, if that the right word. But my mother is a lover of antiques. I can’t imagine painting them. She has restored antiques all over her home.
I always feel as though the old pieces are so sad and they don’t want to go to the trash. You saved this one and it makes me so happy. It’s beautiful!! ❤❤
Just to let you know: That dresser was made from SOLID MAHOGANY ! You literally CANNOT GET THAT ANYMORE! You did a wonderful job on it, and your use of the sawdust to make the filler was absolutely spot on! Excellent work.
💚 What a beauty this dresser is now!! Thank you sooo very much for not only saving her from the landfill, but for giving her a new beautiful life with a new key too!! She's looks soo pretty now!!!💚
It's always a joy to see a broken piece of furniture, that's been though so much ,when someone takes the time & effort to bring it back ,to the vintage look hidden 4 so long, amazing 👏
Wow! You literally transformed that ugly duckling to a beautiful, glowing swan! And I love the rounded edging that you did on the top edges…well done. 🤗An absolutely spectacular transformation. 💚
Wow. It looks like an heirloom that someone lovingly took care of, when you finished. It is beautiful. I especially love that you restored the locks. Gorgeous.
💚 Impressive restoration! Well done! I love working on seemingly hopeless pieces and watching my client’s reaction when they see the reveal of their beloved and decrepit piece. 😊
Thank you so much. I just inherited the old sewing machine and solid wood cabinet that I learned to sew on over 60 years ago. I have a strong emotional attachment to this piece of furniture and after watching your excellent video, I feel motivated to attempt to restore it. Clearly, you are a master craftsmen who honors the original intent of the maker and respects the quality of the wood. Well done!
Ooh fun!! I absolutely love old sewing machines. Have a small collection myself. Good luck with your project. Just take it one step at a time enjoy the process and you’ll get there.
I have a love for old well made pieces of wood furniture and so admire the job you did with this piece. It is just beautiful. The hand sanding is difficult, but you did a lovely job. Over the years, I refinished many pieces, but now live in a small house with no work space, so I do enjoy seeing that there are still people who will go the extra mile to save these gems. Thanks so much for sharing.
Wonderful to see real enthusiasm and talent for restoration work in real wood. The finish is amazing and the moulding which you'fixed' the mutilation on the front actually enhances the beauty of the finished piece. Congratulations on a fantastic job!
OMG…..!💚💚💚💚💚 FINALLY, NO globs of paint covering a gorgeous piece of wood! Beautiful job❣️❣️❣️ I’m re-inspired all over, because not many people today are refinishing back to original state. It’s like you restored a faith in me that it’s OK to refinish old pieces to its original glory! Thank you so much for your video, you got a new subscriber 😊, I LOVE your work!👍
💚 Your video was quite instructive and the rich detail justified its length. I went back over many elements of your project as they answered untold number of questions for a novice. It was encouraging to see you share the difficulties with the soda-balsting as fear of failure has stopped me from trying new things before. Thank you and very well done!
Beautiful piece from start to finish..love the new drawer pulls and the lock and key replacement..the stain made the piece rich...thank you so much for not painting it!
💚 Omg this is beautiful!!! It looked so rough at first I thought you’d go for paint. I see a lot of RUclipsr reach for the paint on damaged pieces and the woodworker in me screams Noooo!!!! I love wood grain. I think for furniture there’s nothing more beautiful. Thank you for proving once again the life of this furniture is not over. That people can bring out that beauty. I just love this piece. So beautiful.
Thank you so much ☺️. I am not opposed to painting furniture I think it can absolutely give a second life to pieces that are heavily damaged and or not made of very quality wood. However I would never cover solid mahogany with paint no way. This one was a rare find in my area. Thanks for watching 💚
@@coloredcaboosecreations I’m not against painting just that with wood that beautiful how could you? I saw someone painting over locust wood once and I was almost in tears lol I couldn’t finish the video. Would you recommend the feed and was in areas of high humidity?
I would have said, that poor chest has had it's day but you you've done such a fabulous job on it. Thank you for saving this wonderful piece and showing it so much love.
Absolutely beautiful! Love that top edge you did and so happy you had the lock fixed and found a key to fit. Makes a world of difference to have that key! Great job!
Kudos for giggling when sanding those teeny tiny details. Thank you for showing me some tricks. We have been restoring all the trim in our 100 year old house plus furniture. Really nice job. 💚
Wow, this is beautiful. As you mentioned when stripping, the wood was very delicate. And a previous owner loved this piece so much that they gorilla glued the leg together, put in dividers, and put new handles on it. They loved it, and you saved it so a new owner can love and cherish it some more. What a wonderful story.
You gained a new subscriber. Wow, LOVE your work ! The dresser turned out absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for restoring this beautiful piece. Looking forward to more videos from you.
Unrecognizable! 💚💚 Never in a million years would I have thot it could turn out this gorgeous! I thot $35 was way too much to pay, but now look at it. The drawer pulls are perfect. I'd like to request longer "after" shots, like the top edges (the routing was a brilliant idea, and looks original), pulling the drawers out, showing more close-ups. So beautiful! 💚
*Addendum...this was the 1st video of yours I ever watched. Just stumbled upon this video scrolling on RUclips and decided to watch it because I LIKE WOOD GRAIN and seeing the beauty of wood shining through. 🥰 Chippy paint finishes are abhorrent to me; a trend I truly hope dies soon‼️ I wanted to SAVOR your accomplishment of bringing this shabby piece of furniture that I wouldn't have given the time of day to - and that I believed was WAY OVERPRICED - but I was left wanting. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills are phenomenal 👏 👏 👏 and the professionalism of you going the extra mile with fixing the lock and getting a working key 🔑 are commendable and are to be applauded❣️💚*
I love how you restore pieces that are worth restoring! If they are not, you don't just get creative, but painstakingly do all the steps instead of slapping paint like I see others do. You have an intelligent eye!
My father would’ve been 106 years old this year. He was a master carpenter. He taught me a few things in my life. I think he would be so impressed with the amount of work. I’m preparing this beautiful dresser. I am so happy that you did not paint it. Most flips they just painted and be done. I couldn’t find the Green heart, but I will check listen and watch till the end.
Love it! 💚 Thanks to you and a couple of other restorers on YT, I have gotten up the nerve to refinish 4 pieces in my home. They are all solid wood (thank you Lord) and all the years of cats and moving, they need an overhaul. I'm doing one piece using the cerusing method and the rest will be just sanding, repairs and staining. You guys gave me the confidence and the knowledge, I hope I make you proud. You always do such lovely work. God has blessed you with a beautiful gift of not just wood restoration but an eye for making it stand out in glory. Thanks again.

Well, this video got you a new subscriber! 💚 This is absolutely gorgeous! The router bit you used on the top was genius! It looked like it should always have been there. Oh, and Odie’s Oil has become my favorite finish. It smells good, you don’t have to wear gloves and it dries to a durable finish!

Wonderful job, just beautiful

Full restoration? No chalk paint?? I love to see it! You learn so much when you tackle a piece like this. You really did a fabulous job! 🎉
What a labor of love for the authentic beauty of this piece!!! 💚
Glad to see someone doing these type of videos that actually seems to have an appreciation for the look of the original wood 💚
I agree!! I cant stand to see beautiful pieces painted white!
THIS! As the grandchild of a woodworker, it hurts my soul to see beautiful wood furniture painted, especially antiques.
My sentiments exactly!!!
It’s hard to find real wood furniture! These pieces deserve people who know how to restore them to their former glory. Bravo💚
💚💚💚 The dresser turned out amazing. If I hadn't see the before I would never have believed it was the same piece.
