- ONE OF THE MOST HEART FELT GUITAR SOLOS I HAVE EVER HEARD MY FRIENDS MUCH LOVE IN THIS SOLO FOR RONNIE WHAT A GREAT JOB HERE BY TONY IOMMI GUITAR MASTER AND WIZARD AND THE IRONMAN FOR THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS THE RIFF MASTER HIMSELF AT HIS BEST THANK YOU TONY FOR ALL THE LEGENDARY GUITAR RIFFS YOU MADE YOU ARE THE BEST! TONY IOMMI CHEERS DJ MRELLGATO STAY TUNED FOR THE WIDE SCREEN EDITION! 2014
Iommi is the reason I started playing guitar 36 years ago and he is still my favorite guitarist!
Same here .20 years ago
DA BEST! DA IRONMAN!!!!!
Same here, 2 years ago
I'm 21 now. Heard Toni and sabbath when I was 19 and trust he'll forever be my nr 1 of course he must have Geez to keep him rolling
My fave too... He's the reason I play left-handed!!! I tried right-handed but I couldn't do it... I'm ambidextrous and I STILL can't learn to play right-handed!!!
Damn I don't listen to this kind of stuff anymore but this is one hell of an expressive and dynamic solo. He's *saying* things with the guitar, not shredding to show all the 14 yr olds what he can do. It borders on jazz inventiveness in some of the passages and there's so much dynamic range and space here. Very very cool.
My 2 favorite guitatists are Jerry Garcia and Tony Iommi.
@@michaelmohrle1773wow that's an interesting combination!
@@jeffroberts_tunes They bolth have missing fingers too !! If you think Jerry can not play metal style listen to Playing in the band from 8/27/72 as an example !!
His tone is amazing ! Does not have to use speed to sound like a master shredder.
hes not playing the same solo again and again, he is really improvising, awesome :D a bit of a jazzy feel
That’s what makes him the best eight different versions of this solo
Fucking insane. This is why hes my favorite guitarist. So creative. Love Mr. Tony Iommi for all he has contributed to guitarist all over.
The more I go on with the study of solo and rhythm guitar techniques of other so-called "more technical" artists, the more I go back to deepen guitarists such as iommy, Gary moore, steeve Ray Vaughan, hendrix, dimebag Darrel and j.frusciante
. They have something besides technique that others don't have. Iommy one of the best blues guitarists ever! As he put it .. He didn't want to create metal but he liked playing fast or slow distorted blues.
A Living Legend!
That was just ferocious. From the 3 minute mark to 4 minutes was vicious. No jumping around, no fireworks, just decades of experience on lead guitar.
Keep in mind too, you must practice to play at this stellar level. Tony could have retired to Tahiti, but for the true love of rock & roll, he would rather totally shred his SG and dazzle the crowds than sip fruity cocktails on a remote beach.
sometimes, given his seemingly endless supply of world beating riffs and his undisputed seminal role in the creation of metal, it's too easy to forget that Iommi is a MASTER soloist - imaginative, soulful, agile, deeply and broadly creative... he stands with the giants and takes second to NONE... he's also an evidently humble, aparently good natured and often self effacing PRO... unlike some of his peers, he's a truly admirable cat. Thank you, Mr. Iommi, for all of the beautiful music you made and inspired.
Word!
Amen
Augustine Nocera
Iommi is a better song writer than he is a guitarist ..He's also a Girlfriend/Wife beater
@@toobmaniac where the fuck did you get that information from pray tell?!?!🤣
@@toobmaniacYou're a girlfriend beater.
Thank You Mr Iommi for all the great music over the years
This is why hes the best
I've got all my fingers and still I can't play like that.
jorge vaz nande He doesn't have any fingers lost, he just has the tips of his middle and ring fingers missing.
Xavier Murphy still, I've got all my tips
Nobody can play like that
jorge vn j
Dont feel bad...only 1 man can.
what nobody expected: the godfathers of metal playing jazz! I love it!
It's so good to hear him playing this well so late in his career. There was a point with Sabbath albums where I felt he had improved in some technical respects but was playing less interesting material; but here is beautifully bringing all of that skill, and the amazing soul he has, and he's weaving beautiful mysteries. In my life, he's been one of the most influential musicians.
Exactly what sabbath albums?
@@doraanaisnin5199 Tyr and Dehumanizer especially. On Dehumanizer there was a lot of fast playing that I felt lacked some of the dramatic and emotional nuance of his better work. I imagine that he was still playing great live, though.
Thanks for sharing this, I don't think I've ever seen Tony jam like that
Dean,
I agree. It was just phenomenal. Do you have any idea what it takes to pull that off? This reminded me of Jimi at Woodstock. Incredible talent and musical virtuosity.
Tony, you’re the best I love this song. I love your guitar plan thank you so much.
let's not forget Geezers' accompaniment. Tony and Geezer are the Lennon/McCartney of guitar and bass.
Erik Sean Scheffer you're right. It's my opinion too.
Lennon and McCartney wish they had the skills of Butler and Iommi...
They don't
exept that mccartney was always better at guitar than lennon
David Garcia, you mean George Harrison, Paul McCartney was the bass player
FM Progg yeah, but Paul played guitar as his primary instrument, he had always been a better guitarist than John, he even soloed on a few Beatles songs
And he's still playing the same Gibson S-G guitar from the 70's WOW!
Got to admit that Tony is at least the top ten all time best.
I can agree with that!
sipo 70 agree, who would you put on that list?
most deff
Top 10 theres only one spot and thats 1
What a riff iommi rules
Much respect to Iommi. He doesn't need to play fast nor storm through the neck and play ultra loud to show off what he can do with the guitar and how he improvises. I enjoyed much of his jazz style in the first two sabbath albums and it shows here as well. My favorite little jazz piece from him is probably on the demo track after behind the wall of sleep, early one morning is great too.
You're mostly right, but make no mistake... That amp is LOUD
Behind the Wall of Sleep is heavy blues, not jazz
AWESOME! Tony , the best a real gentleman too
I must say that David Gilmour is my favorite guitarist (I've been a bad guitar player for 35+ years), Mr. Iommi is a close second. Freakin' fantastic!
Blues-metal very distinctive.
Be strong Tony Iommi as your \Riffs/. Hail, Odin ! I love you , Tony Iommi ♥
I have always admired and loved Tony Iomi's playing since day one. I love every era of Black Sabbath but especially the Dio Era.
Yes, me the same. First Tony solos I heard from H&H album. Love all of them.
The Dio era is boss
The nurses save the world ..so the scooter revolution can continue.
The Dio era is also my favorite becuz Black Sabbath leaned more into Heavy Metal.
Tony you're the man! Best guitarrist of all time. Dio, rest in peace my bro. I miss Heaven And Hell as a band, I wish they should've playing, so sad.
Godly superman playing guitar like no one else on this planet. Iron Man himself Emperor of all hard'n'heavy music Tony Iommi.
Best there is
Very first concert in 1972 as a 15yr old Long Island Arena Commack NY. Deep Purple was the second one not long after.
It's crazy, the Man never could read a lick of written music, every note he plays is a gift from his heart. Truly gifted and innovative, special after the loss of his finger tips. To not give up his passion, changed the industry hunting for lighter strings and redesigning his guitar. I knew when I first heard Black Sabbath, of coarse with Ozzy singing it's was an orgasmic mind numbing experience.. Knowing where and how it all began, plus all the dysfunctional factors and set backs these men had to over come, it's surely seemed ordained by Some High Power..
doesn't get much better than that. electric guitar master. bravo
HOW can one man have created hundreds of killer riffs? Tony is a f..king legend as we know and this solo is so impressive!
Mr. Sabbath, that is best. Tony Iommi Everybody Else That comes to this band. Follows Mr. Tony.
5:50 Facemelting post apocalyptic solo. 😍❤🤘🔥
I've always liked Tony's playing,....
Absolutely insane solo! Perfect example of Tony Ipmmi's guitar work as a soloist!
one of the best guitarists. love these guys.
Usually when I play this my walls begin to crumble.
Walls are overrated anyway.
The GREATEST 🎸player on the planet!
Top 5 electric rock guitar player of all time
The very best. And unlike Jimmy Page he never resorted to stealing songs and then fucking over artists. Iommi is a class act.
that's just dumb
He did not stole song ..... Both are legends .. incomparable .... And for you I wanna say .... Duck off
Correct......and Iommi is a much better guitarist......by fucking lightyears.
@@vanshsharma8255 Led zeppelin has in fact been confirmed to rip songs off. The whole band still brought so much to the table and didn’t copy everything completely. But you can’t deny facts unfortunately
Also Tony is literally God
@@joeshlong9614 God is God fool and page is better than stumps over here love. Both
The best thing is that Tony and Geezer play so well and understand each other ! You can see it from the begining when Geezer follows Tony
Iommi is so original and he's also my favorite guitarist and this is coming from a Afro-American 😊
Can I say ....a fricking amazing... legendary, can listen to this over and over again..... wait! Lol oh yeah I do! Thanks for sharing this!!!
Man I would of sold my soul for these skills and rocknroll also God bless your soul Black Sabbath members you brought one of the best bands I can listen to all day and while I go fishing
I never drew the line connecting "Heaven and Hell" to "Voodoo Childe" until now. After seeing this, I don't know how I missed it before.
❤MR TONY IS THE GOOD GITARISSS

My dear sweet cousin Miss Perkins introduced me personally to T. Iomi. God I wish you were here MARY!! You were right! Except for the part about Thai Stick!!! Now I know how it's made!!
So awesome . Iommi is a guitar god 🎸🎸🎸
Yes! Lived my 20s in th 80s. They were best music times for Metal... although I ws in2 Alice Cooper 1972, Zep 1973, Judas Priest 1975, Iron Maiden next... Blk Sab 1972.
I like that tony works the neck vertically as much as across the strings.....
Extremely creative
Que solazo!!! Y la base que le hace Getzler es magistral
Brilliant!
The Original......nothing less! 🎸🎸🎸
Sabbath and Dio together. My fave song. Life is good.
My favourite moment 5:41 - 6:46

The RIFF MASTER.. Brilliant chops.
This album, is how i learned to play guitar, using a 83 Gibsin Flying V, a 79 tube screamer, n a pair of amplified headphones on the USS AMerica cruise 1979........2 Jesus God b the Glory...
James Price you must have time travel to by the 83 Gibson v you played on a1979 cruise

La voz de DIO y las pisadas de TONY, SONIDOS DE LOS DIOSES DEL METAL , FUUUUCCCKKKKKK !!!,🤘🤘🤘
Only saw them twice, but both times were significant and was at the NSD tour in Phoenix AZ about six months after this one. The second was the end tour in 2016, so I saw them to close out the 70s era and then the grand finale 💪🏼😎
One of the top ten of my life time
Fucking legends....all of em. You aint getting this shit now....
If there are two guitarists who were instrumental in developing hard rock and heavy metal into a genre, and there are, it would be Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi. 2 masters of the guitar and THE RIFF-MIESTERS!
repetitivemotion I would have to add KK Downing and Glen Tipton to that list of guitarist that helped develop metal. They came along and gave us a more up tempo style of playing as well at the twin lead guitar attack, which had not been done before.
good point
Tony invented metal guitar, K.K. and Glenn refined it
true, but Blackmore was/is one insecure sob, catering teen parties
Tony's the man...
Thanks Mr.Tony Awesome!
That lineup -- enough said
My ear just came...
Oh my god! GOD
Hell Yeah #BLACKSABBATH, It’s always Good time For 🤘Black Sabbath 🤘All-day everyday
If I could have one guitar from all of rock music it would be this one.
Pat, hey. What about Jimi's white stratocaster from Woodstock?
I went to Seattle a few years ago and saw it on display. But, I see what you mean. Tony's SG here is quite the prize too.
Cheers from Mexico!
🎸
The God of Heavy metal
And such respect and love for Ronnie

Crazy. Unbelievable
Tony blows page , and clapton out of the water he’s fast and plays with emotion and feel he’s not the best in the world but definitely up there in the top 50 best of all time
Everyone on that stage is at the pinnacle of their job, fuckin amazing!
This is boss ,who found this.

I'm so upset I did not see Black Sabbath with RJD in 2008/09, had no idea he was not well. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Happy 69th Birthday!Tony Ioomi...
Love Tony Iommi's guitar playing, his leads are ok, but his riffs are the shit.
Tony is the King of riffs.
