- I went in the mountains with my dog to do overnight. We were caught in bad weather, rainstorm and thunderstorm. I did A frame diamond tarp shelter setup for this occasion, got fire going and had some bacon and beans. Very good expirience in harsh weather conditions

I love camping in the rain. I used to go into the forest on our farm with nothing but a tarp, some para cord, my knife, a wool blanket, and my machete. Best of times. You are truly blessed to have your health and youth. My camping days are over.

Have you tried a solo camping in your country?
I love a good thunderstorm, don't seem to get them that often in the UK, these days. Nice set up seeing as you had other plans, Cairo did seem a lot calmer than usual, that could be down to air pressure with the coming storm, animals seem to sense it much more than us meer humans 😊. Getting that fire started was impressive keeping it going was even more so, but like you said shouldn't rely on it. That lighting show was fantastic and a tad scary, as I said don't seem to get that many now adays, I've only been scared once in a thunderstorm I would have been 17 going on 18, so was 1969/70 long long time ago out with my boyfriend/future husband in his Mini the rain was so heavy had to stop driving thunder so loud if rocked the Mini it was one thunder clap after the other and it was both sheer and forked lighting, after things started to calm down driving back home we came across two manhole covers that were hovering about 60cm above the road surface on a bubbling colom of water obviously the drainage system couldn't contain the volume of water, so it found a weakness in the system and used it, but that storm was epic. Always love seeing vids that aren’t all clear skies and sunshine because let’s face it, how often does that happen when you need it to? Great video, keep them coming!
My most memorable and favorite backpacking were treacherous weather conditions while sheltered in my TarpTent Double Rainbow (bugs love me too much to use a single layer). Listening to trees fall nearby, lightning strikes mere yards away, torrential downpours, while laughing most of the time (no, not nervous energy). There is nothing that compares and an experience that average mortals can’t comprehend, so don’t bother telling them about it. (good-looking Malinios, says my Malinios; thanks for sharing info on Alaska Superior)

@@Survivaland what is the tarp setup called? Do you have a video on how to set it up? You seamed to have it pegged out and then you lifted it. Do you just peg the back out fully stretched, peg the front a bit closer and then lift?

I agree with the notion you had bout fire not necessary or being available all the time because better with a good solid sleeping system keeping you warm. Rely on body heat is more reliable and also you don't have to breathe the nasty smoke all night. Good show. Nice camping/survival trip.

As usual another great video, I enjoy that type of camping. That tarp setup worked well for minimal gear. The new blade is nice but I can see how the other might perform a bit better for certain task. Cheers,give doggo a pat for me.

I've a crazy-ass dog too! She's a 4 year old Tan, Treeing Walker Coonhound. Great vid! I use a 3 x 3 DD Tarp in summer through fall and a 10 x 10 canvas tent for winter. I'm in Canada. Stay safe out there my friend
