Great video Simon - reminds me of my time on field exercises in the British Army, cold, wet and hungry 😀 Beans and sausages are the best 👌🏻 Your dog is beautiful, a loyal companion. Keep the videos coming I enjoy watching your adventures. All the best from the UK 🇬🇧 👍🏻
I love the interaction between Simon and his crazy doggo-a scream sometimes. I like that he is old school, enjoys Pukko blades and Polish/Finnish military equipment. His vids are always informative. Thanks for the great content Simon.
Summer is over, time to use a tent. Glad to see you brought a can of beans. If you get sick, who will Cairo have to terrorize. Pine sap works great in rainy weather. Thank You for sharing your video, and bringing us along.
Loved the 'dog jumps over fallen log, turns back for a quick chew of huge log!' Very humorous and I do enjoy watching your wet or snowy adventures. As long as you don't mind doing them!
Been there, but not without a tent. Shivers are an important sign of hypothermia. Your muscles have a hard time working, and that severely limits your ability to create shelter or prepare a meal. Hot food and drink help. Fire is always a joy and comfort. You were clearly on the edge, and you showed us what to do. I prefer your priority of camp chores. Shelter first, bedding next, food next, and sleep next. Good challenge. Thanks.
You can not say you only go out in nice weather. Thanks for sharing. Here at home it’s -25c and snowing. Your vids get better and better. Enjoy the season Here we build a much lower shelter. Less air = more heat. Cheers
Every video "where the hell is my dog?" :D Great vid, I love your camps and how well you look after your naughty doggo. Camping is best in the rain I find, it keeps the normal people inside :D
Loving this channel. The fact you don’t let the weather stop you is awesome. I’ve just started tarp camping and love it. You have given me some great ideas for future camp outs. Keep making great vids I’ll keep watching.
Another good video. Thank you.I can relate with being out in the rain. When I was younger and doing overnight in the woods I earned the nickname of rainmaker.
Dude I'm glad You got outta your sopping wet misery's. Maybe next time A Fleece and Poncho or a quick pop up tent. Perhaps watching the Weather on TV so better planning can be made. Again maybe a 2 man quick set up and wear that poncho during all the Rain. Better luck 🤞 next time !
Love your videos and love your dog. You are a great caretaker of your beautiful dog. I lost my job due to c-vid but as soon as I find new job I will join your patreon. Thank you for all you do and please give your boy a big hug from all of us in Australia. God bless
i prefer the weather to be at its worst when im out in the woods you appreciate your camp setup more, love being dry warm under a tarp when its raining etc lol
I gotta say, I'm happy I finally found another maniac who actually enjoys setting up his camp during a rain :D Did it even on my first solo overnighter. Awesome stuff once again
Makes you think how hard it is for the homeless doesn't it. That was one night out....they do it day and night with no choice. The cold damp air alone is a serious problem over any period of time. It gives us a great respect for nature and shows us that it has a sweet side and a harsh and vicious side too. Great video buddy, best wishes from Kent, England
Actually most homeless people choose to be whether it be from drug or alcohol abuse or laziness...only a small fraction appear to be from true hardship...
@@tomlorenzen4062 well, "choose" if from drugs or alcohol abuse, in that they chose to use those items. That they become homeless and out of a system of care from the family/friends or the state is not their choice.
I will admit I haven't watched the video yet ( but I definitely will) I thought the thumbnail for was hilarious. You are on all fours in the rain look into at the fire while you dog is sitting happy and dry under the tarp. I wonder if he's thinking " where the hell is my master." Love it
That was very hard for you... they were very harsh conditions... but that was a great video... excellent. That you put everything into it and saw it through to the end made it even better. Well done.. look forward to the your next adventure. Cheers!
I first noticed it in England and later in New England and only with deciduous trees- when a tree gets hit by lightning and doesn’t get killed, it will lightly steam every time it rains or there is a heavy mist. Some trees will also weep (drupe) especially those on ridge lines or stuck out in the open. In Rhode Island and Connecticut it might seem the whole tree cover it steaming because over time a lot of trees will get hit. I’ve done an internet search every so often and it appears too many people are too fussed with watching their feet not the trees.
I have been struck by lightning before in a field, picking up straw bails. It was a weird experience that almost happened twice, once tube rafting and then the straw bails where I was hit indirectly. It was like getting hit on the head by a golf ball.
Great job for staying in outdoors regardless of the bad weather. Amazing trip and amazing video. I hope you have strong immunity not to get cold :D good luck!
Hello Simon, I'm always happy to watch your videos with you and your dog. Unfortunately, where I live in Germany, the forests are more and more occupied by hunters and you have to look for a good place. Greetings Jörg
First video I’ve seen from you in my feed and loved it, can’t wait to watch the rest of them and track/watch future posts. Love the dog, even when he’s “being jerk and want to eat all the food” LOL.
I swear between you and frosty you guys are very entertaining and I can't wait for your vids to come out. I love the crazy rain videos you put out. If only Cairo would stop eating stuff lol.... As always great vid !
I bet if you used some clear plastic to make a super shelter with that structure you built, you'd be toasty warm with your doggie in those future rainy outings. Also, I use a small waterproof tent for pets with my cat and saw that there are such things for dogs too but it might be too big for your pack for the size of your dog. Was curious what that substance was you used to start your fire, it really did the job. Really enjoyed the video. This video was the first I've seen of your channel and I'm subscribed now. Keep 'em coming and stay dry!
Thank you for this video. Pretty awesome overnighter! I am impressed by your toughness. You must have a very good sleeping bag. I'm glad the wind did not kick up. Keep on rockin'! 😎
Good overnighter Simon We have a saying in the military: "If it ain't raining, you ain't training!" And both you and Mr. Frosty were definitely training!! Nice jacket too!
Hello.im fr.the Philippines.nice 2 see snow, beautiful colored trees, your dog love dogs.i love 2 see u cooking .so what food you are giving 2 your dog? Your sounds good its very clear.we here in my country theres rainy and hot season only so its nice 2 see snow & diff.seasons.i like 2 see when you are talking 2 your dog hahaha.how old is he?
I like how you take care of your dog first thing so many people don't. But I think I would have immediately set up your big tarp even just as a fly to work under as you built the rest of your shelter. You could have done an awful lot of your woodcutting and fire preparation under the fly and reduced the chances of hypothermia.
Thank you guys for watching! If you want to help us out continue with regulary uploading, make sure you check how to get a patch from us (:
Have a nice one!
Simon
that was funny and cute when the dog turned around and looked in the camera, then proceeded to take a chunk out that log lol
There is something about camping in the woods when the weather isn't perfect, you learn more! I enjoy your videos.

The comments on this page remind me that there is still so much good out there on this earth. So thank you to all that read this! Sleep peacefully 🙏
I see how much the dog appereciates a warm place like your sleeping bag :) Great! (5min 40sec watched)
I’m so happy to see how good you take care of your dog.
You guys are the best 'camping Dude with a dog' video's.
Thank you James!
Summer is over, time to use a tent.
Glad to see you brought a can of beans.

beautiful to see you take care of your dog companion first. that is the sign of a true man. well done. Julie from Australia.
Loved the 'dog jumps over fallen log, turns back for a quick chew of huge log!' Very humorous and I do enjoy watching your wet or snowy adventures. As long as you don't mind doing them!
One must first jump over log before one can chew on log to ensure it is log. 🤣😂
I enjoyed another great video. I love watching your dog too. Take Care of you and your precious dog......Sandy
More tough conditions I see. You and Mr Frosty must have the same days off! Thanks for sharing the adventure :)
Actually we do. I work 12/24 12/48 shifts, and Frosty does exactly the same :D
Brilliant to watch, because you was challenged by the elements
Wow, hail sorms are the worst... not easy camping in these conditions. Everything is hard work. thanks for sharing the adventure!
Not much that's worse than being cold & wet. Tough going is an understatement. And you're recording it. Very impressive. Nice job!!!
Thank you William!
Cool dog and you even more:)
No rain, no outdoors ! Excellent video...say hello to your nice dog too.
My new favorite saying"It's not funny, but It actually is" said when you were talking about Mr Frosty's misfortune. You are a funny guy
Thanks Larry!
Good to see a dog that will stay under a shelter when he's told!

Also if you carry two large plastic bin bags ... You can fill them with leaves n ferns to pad the bed out
I'm in love with your dog
Lmao!! " Where the hell is my dog?" That my Friend is a n international and universal question. Even here in South Texas.
Very challenging. You did well to stick it out. An excellent video!

Hello brother, it is really good for the task of living in the forest ... ☺️
Watching from India🇮🇳 ❤

Thanks for another entertaining video. You and Cairo make a great team. Love to watch and look forward to updates!
